Odd Meeting

4 Days Later (Old School House) (Rias's P.O.V)

Standing in front of the school house, Rias waited. She could feel it, the feeling of the end coming near. It was approaching the border of this world very quickly. That said, she couldn't feel her through her other senses as she wasn't physically arriving, she was projecting a portion of her soul which was inherently laced with her authority. The resonance was what she was feeling.

She sighed.

"I'm guessing no one else will feel her. Well, I imagine Ophis and Great Red might. I should probably expect them to listen in on the conversation." She mumbled to herself.

"That's quite an astute observation. I can feel that happening as we speak." Said a sultry feminine voice as an inky black portal manifested itself in front of her. Out of it came a six-foot-tall beautiful young woman with long black hair and golden slit eyes. She had beautiful caramel-colored skin and a very revealing outfit. Aside from white fabric to cover her breasts and groin, she had long golden bands around her forearms and shins; she also wore smaller golden bands around her arms, golden rings, and golden earrings. She honestly looked like she came out of a depiction of an ancient Mesopotamian goddess.

Honestly, Rias wouldn't mind getting to know this apocalyptic deity in a more physical capacity if she was able. She doubts she'd be able to, but she wouldn't mind if she was.

"Oh, from that stare, I can feel carnal lust radiating off of you." She seemed mildly slightly shocked, which in turn shocked Rias.

"Why would you be surprised? Forgive my forwardness, but your gorgeous." Rias said before she could really consider whether this was the best initial topic to be discussing with the world ending deity.

"You may not notice due to your similar authority, but once you've reached my level of power primal fear overcomes any lust before it forms. I could be the most beautiful person in the world, but people wouldn't even be able to comprehend it through their fear. The others in my world who are powerful enough usually stay away out of rightful caution. Truthfully speaking, you're actually one of a few I could count on one hand that has complimented my appearance." She said with a little exasperation. Clearly, her authority wasn't all positives for her.

"I really hope that doesn't end up happening to me. While I wouldn't mind shooing the pests away, I wouldn't want to scare my own peerage, especially the ones I was hoping to procreate with." Rias said, a little disturbed at the prospect of isolation.

"That would probably be the case if it weren't for this pillar system of yours. Based on the bonds I can feel growing between you and your pillars, they will likely be able to breach your veil of power regardless of your strength. This will make them heavily resistant to the suppression you will naturally emanate. Truly, It seems like a wonderful system." The goddess said with a bit of marvel.

"Well, if we end up being friends after this meeting, I wouldn't mind exploring options to get a little closer to you. It sounds like a win-win scenario for the both of us." Rias said with a smile. This was going well. She had already found a potential opening she could exploit to build a lasting connection. Loneliness. This deity was lonely and she was personally able to bridge that loneliness with herself and her pillar system. While she likely wouldn't be able to make this deity a pillar, she could build another type of bond that could act as an intermediary.

'Stop!' I'm thinking too far. What is it about her that's getting me moving so fast? I've never moved this fast with something like this before. Is it her appearance? doubtful. While, she's one of the most beautiful women I've ever met, there are ones of comparable beauty in my pillars. It has to be the resonance I feel with her. It's compelling me to connect with her. I have to be cautious and take this slow or else I might end up doing something I may regret.

"Indeed, but we must be careful. The resonance between us is influencing us. You more than myself. I am older and more powerful. With those come an innate resistance to influence. You are younger and new to your authority. It would be wise for the both of us to proceed with caution." She reminded.

"Thank you for your concern. My name is Rias Pandemos, formerly of the Gremory house of devils. I am a Demon Goddess who recently acquired the aspect of 'All Things End'. It's a pleasure to meet you." Rias introduced herself and bowed.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Rias. My name is Terminus Orbis, but you can call me Termini. I am the serpent tasked with resetting civilization on my world every time humanity reaches a certain point of decadence."

"That's a great responsibility. I have to ask though; do you interact with civilization frequently or are you summoned by someone in a judging role?" Rias asked. This would be a key factor in determining the threat level of the woman in front of her.

"I am usually asleep for prolonged periods of time and am usually only awoken to read the memories of some of the judges sent by the world to experience the current state of humanity. Once, I've decided that the current world is beyond redemption, I wipe it out. Funny enough, despite how long I've lived, I have only been awake for a collective 45 years or so. The rest of the time, I've been asleep in a period of dormancy. I really don't need longer than a day or so to conduct the reset process, then I'm forced back into slumber. Twenty-five of those years were spent in a human incarnation that I used to understand the world better. It was very fruitful, as it helped me contextualize the judging process going forward." She said with a smile, understanding the concern of the person in front of her.

"Wow, I had never really considered the mental age you'd be at with your position. I always assumed you'd be an old grandma with a really big stick like some of the elder dragons in our world." Rias said, surprised at the new information.

"Well, I'm pretty unique. In my world, I'm tasking with the implementation of a grand ritual to end civilization as anyone knows it. Due to that duty, I'm bound and restrained. I imagine that's how my equivalent is on this world. From the looks of their mental state though, they never went through a human lifetime. Due to that, they are still a mostly bestial entity." Termini said as she pondered.

"So, do you have that power here in this world?" Rias asked the most important question of the day.

Smiling, Termini responded.

"No, I don't. I have a lesser version similar to the one you have right now, but nothing on the scale of wiping civilization with a thought like on my world." Termini said.

"Ok, so how did you get here. I've heard of a few who've traveled the dimensional gap, but I don't see why you would intentionally weaken yourself to arrive. From a vision I'd had, I witnessed you destroying this town three weeks from now."

"Well, that's the thing. I don't know." Termini said while scratching her head. "Truthfully, I don't feel like I'm connected to the world reset authority anymore. In fact, my physical body feels diminished, like I've been separated from the majority of myself. If I were to guess, the creator of my world must have decided to go a different direction with mankind and simply removed my consciousness from the decision-making process. He likely sent me here to get me out of the way. I don't know why I would've attacked your town though. If you hadn't unconsciously resonated with me through your vision, I would have been acting on instinct in a semi-unconscious state due to still being mostly asleep. It would have taken something on the level of a great atrocity for me to arbitrarily attack like that and that's mostly due to my nature as a sin-based dragon." Termini said in a confused manner. She really was concerned with the type of situation that would have caused her to act like that without her control.

"Well, that makes things easier then. Would you like to stay with me while you get back on your feet? It sounds like you need a new home and I'd be happy to give you one for the time being. The practical reason would be for me to assess your character and determine whether you're a threat. I want to be up front with that as a show of my respect for you. The personal reason is that it we could compare notes on our authorities. I haven't had anyone else that understood my authority, so this will help tremendously." Rias said joyfully. This was going really well. She would still need to be cautious of Termini, but everything's looking good so far.

'I never realized that just having a vision on an event can cause it to change. I had always thought they were immutable if I didn't act on them. It's good I learned this now instead of at a critical time.'

"That would be great. Thank you. I will teleport here tomorrow with my real body; it'll still be in human form of course. We'll have to spend some time in the near future to get to know each other. I've never met another person with the same authority before, so this should be fun." She smiled and faded.
