1 Miam Villlage

Miam Village (Land of Sloth)

Miam village, a sparsely populated town in the lands of sloth; a territory within the sin lands, the largest continent in the underworld and a land deemed too dangerous for permanent settlement by the main host of the Ars Goetia. Out in these lands, smaller settlements exist that provide shelter for the various devils that either desire to live outside the influence of aristocracy or have been banished due to a nepotism-driven reduction of charges linked to a serious criminal offence. Either way, it is undesirable for most modern-day devils to live in these lands. Arguably the primary reason for this constant is the demonic field inhibiting proper teleportation. One would require ultimate class to even begin attempting the feat.

With a plot of land the size of a large university campus, Maim Village stands defiantly against the cacophony of threats that seek its end. Walking up the road leading to this small village, a 18 year old beautiful young woman with white skin, bluish violet eyes, and a buxom figure can be seen. She has long crimson red hair with loose bangs covering her forehead and the sides of her face; upon her temples, two thin blade-like horns curve toward the sky. Upon her form is a violet sleeveless kimono top with a black short-sleeved haori, black short shorts, thigh-high stockings, and black toeless-combat shoes. Radiating from her figure is an almost transparent demonic energy highly attuned to the spectrum of destruction, a deterrent to prevent any needless confrontations. Although she appears unarmed, any devil settling in these lands is aware that appearances can be deceiving.

This young woman is Rias Pandemos, a young devil turned demon seeking to explore the underworld and gain the strength necessary to decide her own fate.

Gazing at the approaching village, she marvels at the architecture. Walls made of a pitch-black stone she has no knowledge of surround the village. Small brick houses make up the majority of the buildings with the exception of a central marble temple standing prominently in the middle of the village. She notes that this structure appears older than the rest and was likely a historical site that inspired this village's construction. She made a note to visit this place at some point before moving onto the next leg of her journey.

As she approached the gates, she noticed two armored male devils blocking the entrance. One of them stepped forward.

"Halt!" one of them roared.

Shocked, Rias stepped stopped with her hands raised in front of her face, palms facing the guards.

"I come in peace. I seek food and shelter for a day or two. In exchange, I have goods to barter with that I've acquired through my travels. If possible, I'd like to explore the village before moving on".

Nodding, the guard opened a small terminal, input a bit of information and looked back up.

"Name" he asked with what sounded like boredom.

"Rias Pandemos" she responded evenly, a small smile on her face.

Lifting an eyebrow, the guard responds "That doesn't sound like a name one would associate with a member of the Ars Goetia. Clearly you have roots with the Bael family based off your aura".

Evenly, Rias smiles. "The last name is something I picked up after I separated myself from them. While being born to a powerful family is every devil's dream, I sought freedom and personal achievement. While there may be a day that I return, it is not today".

Smiling, the guard nodded and finished typing in his terminal. "Very well, you may enter. The inn is the building with the blue roof on the right side of the village. A few reminders though: don't approach the temple without guidance from one of the priests stationed outside and try to avoid confrontation with Enki Abaddon; he's known to cause problems for the more well-endowed female population."

"Thank you for the heads up. I appreciate the help!" Nodding, Rias began walking into the town eager to see the sites of devil achievement.

Two hours later, Rias walked into her room inside the town inn. Looking around she noticed that it resembled a small log cabin, though that was probably just an aesthetic choice. Sitting on the single twin-sized bed, she began to thank the cosmos that she became a Demon; it removed the need to experience a lot of the painful and embarrassing biological functions women often had to deal with, which had helped immensely in her travels. Closing her eyes, she invoked her power of prophecy to get an idea of any events in the immediate future she should be concerned with.

Her point of view shifted to what appeared to be the inside of the temple. A man she recognized as Diodora Astoroth was sneering at a girl wearing the temple priestess clothing and moving to remove her sacred garb. The point of view shifted and the same man was standing over the defiled and dead maiden with a pawn piece hovering over her. Before he could initiate the ceremony, he turned and noticed the figure of a muscular blond man with grey eyes looking at him and stating that he's completed his end of the deal and the sandpit cache was created a few days ago. Diodora looked at him and gave a gentle nod. The point of view shifted again and Diodora was walking out the temple. As she looked around from his location, she noted a digital clock showing the date as the following day. As she noticed this, the vision ended.

Opening her eyes, she frowned at what appeared to be a disgusting act of debauchery and the sullying of a devoted holy lady's honor. While she may not agree with the notion of total self-sacrifice, she would defend those who do without reservation. Her separation from devil society proper allowed such a mindset. Reviewing the facts gleaned from her vision, she realized that there appeared to be a cache of information located at someplace known as the sandpits. That seemed like a good place to start her investigation tomorrow morning. The likelihood is that she would run into some resistance in retrieving it, but as long as no one reports the intrusion, things should be fine.

The thing she was concerned about was the ability to get to this town through what was likely teleportation. That shouldn't be possible with Diodora's current strength and he certainly wasn't the type to live on this continent. This warranted further investigation. The ideal victory would be one where she could remove him permanently in a way that doesn't spark the ire of one of the four satans, Adjuka Beelzebub.

Sighing, Rias began getting ready for bed.

"As long as I act with caution, things should be fine".
