Chapter [130]

As the vastness of the arena stretched out before her, Serefall Leviathan gracefully floated in the air, her imposing presence highlighted by the sunlight bathing the arena. Her eyes sparkled with excitement as she prepared to introduce the competitors of the highly anticipated Rating Game.

"Dear spectators of DevilNet, prepare yourselves to witness a truly epic showdown!" Serefall declared with enthusiasm, her voice resonating throughout the expanse of the arena. "Today, we have the pleasure of presenting the competitors of this extraordinary Rating Game."

With a graceful gesture, Serefall pointed to the elevated podium in the center of the arena, where the competitors awaited with determination.

"On one side, we have the magnificent Riser Phenex, accompanied by his battle partner, the incredible Merlin!" Serefall announced, her eyes shining with admiration. "Riser-chan, known for his exceptional courage and skill, will face an unprecedented challenge today: none other than ten powerful dragons led by Tannin!"

As she spoke, Serefall gracefully flew around the arena, her presence dominating the space as she approached the floating platforms around the podium.

"But make no mistake, dear spectators! Riser-chan and Merlin have shown extraordinary courage by accepting this challenge, facing not just one, but eleven formidable opponents! If that's not dedication to the cause, I don't know what is!" Serefall exclaimed, her voice filled with admiration.

As the DevilNet spectators watched with fascination, Serefall continued to fly around the arena, highlighting the unique details of the imminent confrontation.

"In this arena, where the sky's the limit, we will witness a battle of epic proportions unfold before our eyes. With Riser and Merlin facing the challenges that Tannin and his dragons present, excitement is guaranteed!"

With one last graceful wave, Serefall concluded her presentation, leaving the spectators eager for the start of the impending showdown. As she prepared to take on her role as judge of the Rating Game, her mind was filled with anticipation for the spectacle about to unfold.

Riser and Merlin were positioned on the elevated podium, observing the arena stretching out before them with seriousness. Riser was trying to maintain a serious expression despite Serefall's amusing flattery, while Merlin seemed calm, her unwavering confidence radiating around her.

"Riser-sama, it seems Serefall is really putting in an effort today," Merlin commented, a slight smile playing on her lips.

"Yes, she always exaggerates a bit, doesn't she?"

Merlin let out a discreet chuckle. "Well, at least she gives us some good entertainment before the real battle begins."

"Merlin, when the fight starts, I want you to do something for me."

Merlin arched an eyebrow, curious. "And what would that be, Riser-sama?"

"Teleport me and Tannin to one of the floating platforms."

"Understood, Riser-sama. I'll do that."

With a graceful gesture, Merlin snapped her fingers, activating her teleportation power. A magical aura enveloped Riser and Tannin, and in the next moment, they disappeared from the podium, reappearing instantly on one of the floating platforms that dotted the arena.

Riser looked around, feeling the cool breeze of the wind as he prepared for the imminent battle.

Meanwhile, Merlin remained on the elevated podium, facing Tannin's ten imposing dragons. Her serene and confident expression conveyed an aura of determination, even in the face of such a formidable threat.

"Ah, it seems we have quite an impressive audience today," Merlin commented with a tranquil smile, addressing the dragons staring at her intently.

The dragons growled and flapped their wings in response, their fierce expressions revealing their readiness for battle. But Merlin remained unfazed, her aura of confidence radiating around her.

"Let's see what you're capable of," Merlin murmured to herself.

Phenex Family Mansion

Victorius was seated in the armchair of the living room, his legs crossed and a pensive expression on his face. He watched the crackling fire in the fireplace, lost in his own thoughts about the plan he had devised to punish Riser.

Beside him, Selina, his queen, was seated on the couch, flanked by two other women who were part of her Peerage, an unknown man hired by Victorius as security stood against the wall with his eyes closed. Selina was absorbed in the live broadcast of Riser's Rating Game, and when she turned off her phone, her gaze met his.

"The time has come, Victorius-sama," she said.

Victorius nodded with a tilt of his head.

"He doesn't know who he's dealing with," he murmured to himself.

Diodora POV

I'm sitting in my room, impatient and annoyed with Victorius's delay. He should have arrived hours ago, and the lack of communication only adds to my frustration. How can I trust someone as useless as a Phenex?

As my thoughts swirl, the door to the room opens slowly, revealing Lara. Her eyes gleam with a malicious glint as she pushes a cart with a tea tray.

"Master, I've brought your tea," she murmurs, her voice soft contrasting with the cruelty in her eyes.

I accept the tea with a nod of my head, watching as she serves the drink with a cold grace. "Took you long enough, Lara. What's going on downstairs?" I ask, my impatience seeping into my voice.

"Nothing much, just Master Dimitri seems to be interested in Riser's Rating Game. But to me, all Phenexes are useless."

A wave of disdain washes over me as I take a sip of the tea. "You're right, Lara. Phenexes are all the same: weak and useless. But it doesn't matter. What matters is that, in the end, Asia will be mine."

Lara smiles satisfactorily, her gaze reflecting the same determination burning within me. "Yes, master. And I'll do whatever it takes to ensure that happens."

"Maybe I should offer Riser Rias in exchange for Asia," I joke, knowing that Riser is obsessed with Rias.

Lara lets out a soft laugh. "He would probably accept, being obsessed with Rias the way he is."

"Do you think he's obsessed?" I ask, intrigued.

"Of course, Diodora-sama. Only an obsessed man would marry the best friend of his ex-fiancée," Lara replies, confident in her analysis.
