Chapter 11: Pyranos Grenzaros

While they are doing this, all of this was captured by a pair of sad and lonely eyes. Rahakki wanted to know if there is a small part of Gremory felt sad upon the doing this to him. By the only look he was able to feel is the indifference. They have totally given up on him.

As he was looking, inside the room, Vanelena ordered, "Grayfia, call the caretaker that you've prepared for him in. Let us sign the contract with all of us present. Have you signed the preliminary conract?"

"Hai, Okaa-sama, I made him sign the preliminary contract where he is not to say anything about what we talked about to anyone. I will get him right now." Grayfia replied and teleported out.

Once she was gone, Ajuka stated, "Well my job is done. I'll go to the lab. I have few more works lined up for me. Just clear the room after everything is done." And then he went back to his lab.

Zeoticus then said to Vanelena, "Lena, remove anything that is not supposed to be with him, have you brought the things that we ordered?"

She replied, "Yes, all the things that are supposed to be enough for him till 16 are in this bag. We just need to change him in to the new set of cloths and he is set to go." And proceeded to change him.

After changing the clothes, she asked Sirzechs, "Sirzechs, did you collect all the things that he used that are in this room?"

"Yes mother, what should I do?" Sirzechs asked.

She threw the clothes that the clone wore till now to the pile and said, "Destroy it." She said without any feeling in her voice.

When she said that, Rahakki, who was sitting outside watching all this, felt a knife stabbed into his heart. He already accepted the fact he is nothing more than a useful pawn for the Gremory, but still it hurt as she was the one who gave birth to him.

Sirzechs did not question or retort. He just did what he was told and destroyed. 

As he completely destroyed all the things, Grayfia teleported in with a man. He looked rugged and had a scar across his face on the right side. He looked like a foot soldier. He was standing tall with Brown shirt, Black plants, Black waist coat and boots. He had a small bag on his back.

Grayfia introduced him, "This Gilbur Vassago, he is one of the guards that stationed in the Northern territory. He is a good soldier, but he was tired of fighting in the front lines. He is a Peak Mid-class devil, he wanted to apply to go to the Southern territory to search for his cousin who was a Gremory. He was sent there for about 250 years."

Sirzechs then pitched in his point, "He is about 2900 years and fought against the angels and the old devils in both the wars. But was injured by holy power so unable to develop further. I checked his background. I found no issues. Serafall did a thorough check too."

All this time Gilbur did not say anything. Just stared directly at Zeoticus. Seeing this, Vanelena asked Gilbur, "Do you know Zeoticus?"

"Yes, he was one of my commanders in the Great war. He led a team to slaughter a group of angels who infiltrated the underworld and started slaughtering civilians. He saved thousands of children from the angels. I'm just looking at the man who saved thousands of children but throw away his own kid." Gilbur said with no emotion.

This stunned every one, but he still continued, "And you, a woman who spoke that all children are treasures and need to be protected by their parents. But was just as unfeeling as any old devils. New Satan and his queen who fought against the old devils for their cruel ways. But still do the same for you own Kin. Guess only few fought for a new future and stayed the same way. I guess power corrupts all. 

But, don't worry. I will not say anything to the kid. Guess you erased his memory. I will just say that his parents fought in the Northern Forests and died. Atleast he will grow up to save other and carry the hopes of the ones that fought to save the underworld from its dire future. But I have only one request please don't come to see him ever again." With that he stopped his speech waited for them.

They were all stunned from the daring criticism of the lowly soldier. Before anyone can do anything, "If you are done with your criticism, just sign the contract and take him away." Zeoticus ordered.

Gilbur just nodded and turned to Grayfia for the contract. Grayfia came out of her stupor, and gave him the contract and asked, "Just wanted to clarify, I never said that you will be taking care of their son. How did you know?" She wanted to find out if the news was leaked.

Gilbur just glanced at her and turned to sign the contract, "I'm an old devil, I can feel the Blood of both of them in him. It is just not that powerful but by no mistake, he, is their kin."

At last, Grayfia turned to the clone and pricked its fingers to draw a drop of blood. Then she and Sirzechs took a drop of their blood and dropped it on the contract. Then Gilbur did the same. The contract was bound to all four. 

After the contract was signed, Gibur went straight to the clone and picked him up, "If there is no more instruction, I will take my leave."

They all said nothing. They just let him walk away. But Gilbur could hear their discussion.

Sirzechs, "Father will there be any problems?"

Zeoticus, "No, as he said he will not let the kid know what happened here. I know him, if he says he'll do something, he will do it at the cost of his life. So, we don't have to worry."

Vanelana, "Now I remember him, He was supposed to be a High-class devil, but due to most of his family supported old devils, he was sent to North to avoid any complications. His mother married into Gremory, but his father supported the old devil. So, he took his mother's surname. Atleast, we know that Rahakki is in good hands."

After that the Gilbur walked out of their earshot. He started walking to the nearby teleportation circle. There is huge distance between the South and the Gremory mansion. They first have to Get teleported to the nearby town and then have to walk for 1 month or take a carriage for a week to reach.

As soon as he set foot in the teleportation circle, he felt like some one is following him. But the [Teleportation] activated and he was sent to the closest town to the south. Then he did not waste any time. He started walking out of the town.

Rahakki also teleported him-self to the town by mark he left on the clone. He started to follow Gilbur to retrieve the clone before going on his own way. But he was unable to find any window. Gilbur was holding the clone in his hand and was not letting him go.

It was getting dark and Gilbur started to make camp. After finishing setting up the camp, he sat down with the clone on his lap and said, "Oh Satan! What did they give you kid! To make you knocked out cold like this. And you, the one who was following, why don't you come out. If you are after this boy, I will let you know that you have to take him over my dead body. If you are the protection detail, I hope you give some details about this boy."

Rahakki was startled, but he did not go out. He just stayed there and started to look for an opening. This all lasted until Gilbur turned and looked and his direction and he kept following his movement with his eyes. Rahakki, with no other way, decided to show himself. 

Once he was out of in the open, Gilbur asked, "And who might you be kid? This is not a place where a kid should go."

Rahakki, just stayed silent. He was not sure he will be able to fight Gilbur and take the clone. Ever since he started to follow him, his sense kept warning him. Right now, standing in front of him, it kept warning him to run away. 

He contemplated whether to let him know who he was. After few minutes he decided to let him know. When Gibur wanted to talk, Rahakki jut let down the hood that was covering his face. 

Gilbur got shocked because both the kid in his hand and the kid standing before him are like the exact copies. He can feel the same feeling from both of them but there was something missing with the kid in his hand and he is not sure what it was.

Before Gilbur spoke, Rahakki spoke, "I want my clone back. I don't want to go to the south because there is nothing for me there. Let's just part ways here. I don't want to fight you."

Gilbur came out of his stupor, and said, "No, can't to do that kid. I will not let a kid go out in the open without the ability to protect him. Besides, if you come in to any danger, I will be dead to. And I don't want to die. So, you are not going anywhere."

Rahakki, really want his clone back. It has all the things he prepared for his travel. He was not sure what to do. He kept staring at Gilbur.

Gilbur was amused by the situation. It seems the kid knows what the Gremorys would do and took steps for escaping. And it looks pretty good so far until he came in to the picture. He was really intrigued by the kid and wanted to know his story. So, gave the kid a deal,

"Kid, let you know what, if you can tell me your story and what you have prepared for your journey, I will decide to let you go or make you stay. We can even make a contract to bind us so that no one backs down or backstab each other. How about it?"

Rahakki was shocked but he started to consider the suggestion. He did want to vent out all the negative feelings and the guy before him has been truthful till now. If the guy lies, he can immediately find out. So, he agreed and made a contract with him.

And thus they started their journey. One talking and the other listening. One big and one small. One with the burden of the present and once with the burden of the past. Just like that 2 months passed and they are only one day away from the south. And this is where the story ended. 

Rahakki, did not tell him about his past life or about his training method or the core. He only told him how he felt and what really happened. It was more like a psychiatric counselling than someone one sharing a story. He will talk someday fully. But he will stay silent for a week continuously. Gilbur did not force him to speak or, he forced his view on him during the journey. Other that small question and corrections, he let the kid talk.

By the end of the journey, Rahakki was feeling free. It was like throwing away an unwanted luggage he was carrying with him. He felt free for the first time after his 7th birthday. 

They camped for the night. Gilbur was the one doing the talking this time, "Kid, as far I can see you are good to go. But before that you can have this thing. It was a dead weight all along. It did not wake up. Maybe there is a spell that it will only wake up when you reach the place, they prepared for you." And gave the clone. 

He then continued, "from what I understand from your story, you are very intelligent and strong for your age. There are few more secrets that you have not told to me about but I will not pry into it. But one thing I will tell you is that you are wrong about owing something to that family. You have paid back them by getting born to them. If they did not cherish you, that was their problem. You know that it was hard for a devil to have an offspring. And if they can throw you out then there is no need for you to do anything for them.

I have another proposal for you. You have all the knowledge that you need but you lack experience. I have them. If you decide to stay with me till the end of my contract with the Gremory, I will teach you all that I can. It will be helpful for you in the long run. You don't have to decide immediately. We still have to go to the place prepared for you in the South. So, you will have a day to decide. What do you say?"

Rahakki, thought for a moment, and decided to consider his proposal. As far as he can tell, Gilbur was nothing but truthful towards him. He did not feel any falsehood or deception from him. So, he nodded and they started to go to bed.

The next day, they started to walk. During this time Rahakki was considering the pros and cons. Like Gilbur said, he does have the knowledge but lacks experience. He can learn them on his journey but it will be easier if someone teaches him all that. And who better than a veteran of 2 wars to teach him. As they reached the place, he made his decision. 

He did not take a look at the South territory as he was in his own contemplation. When they reached the place, he was met with a small mansion. It was good place. At least they gave him a decent place to stay. Not that he cared. Once they set foot inside the mansion, the clone started to wake up.

Gilbur felt the contract was active and he can start living here for the next 8 years. There will be a protection barrier that will only allow whom they approve to get into the mansion. This will be valid till the 16th birthday of Rahakki.

After that Gilbur turned to Rahakki and asked, "So, kid what is your decision. Have you decided to stay or leave."

Rahakki turned to Gilbur and said, "Please teach me. I will stay till you say I'm good to experience the world. So please teach me to be able to survive here."

As soon as he said that Gilbur made a contract and both signed. The contract only states that Gilbur will teach him and in turn Rahakki is to help him search for his cousin. Neither will be able to disclose anything about each other or they will die. 

Once the contract was signed and Gilbur said, "So kid, befor we start…."

But he was cutoff by Rahakki saying, "Pyranos, my name will be Pyranos Grenzaros. This will be my name from now on. I don't want you to call me kid all the time."

Gilbur started at him and started to laugh and said, "Haha! So be it then, judging from the name it is not the one they gave them. I will call you Pyran. So Pyran, before starting to train let me tell you this, I'm not sure who taught you all these good qualities, but let me teach you how to be a devil to balance things out. Shall we start." He said with a sadistic smile.

Rahakki, no Pyran, went pale and thought to himself, 'Shit what the hell did I get myself into now!!'
