3 Chapter 3: Reiji Charts His Course

After a good bath and meal, Reiji felt revitalized.

Picking up his smartphone, he began to access the building's Wi-Fi internet.

"It seems that many animes that were created in my world have either not been created here or will not be created at all..." This somehow excited him.

Thinking it over, he felt it would be interesting to create some novels of animes that were popular in his world...

"The choice is difficult..." Reiji reflected, upon noticing that even the Webnovel site existed in this world, albeit with a distinctly unique novel ranking. The opportunity to bring something new to this table was thrilling.

After some research, he was able to access the contract given to those who wanted to sign up with the site to create an original novel. The terms were acceptable, 30% of the novel's profit would be his. Considering that he only needed to "plagiarize" non-existent stories he knew from his past life, it was a considerable opportunity.

If there was something that could be problematic, it was the fact that one needed to be at least 18 years old to sign the contract on their own. Well, his 18th birthday is next month, on May 4th. For now, he could write some chapters, release them gradually, and start building a fan base until then; it wouldn't be too late to sign the contract.

With this in mind, he also knew that he needed to have at least a computer, as writing on the smartphone was too inconvenient.

"Mm, with what I currently have, it's not enough to buy a new computer, maybe I can buy a used one." He thought.

Unfortunately, he only had a smartphone, not even an old laptop or computer.

But, this did not discourage him; this was just the beginning. Gradually, he would be able to improve his current lifestyle.

Going to a used item sale site, he messaged some people who were selling used laptops with Latin alphabet keys within his budget. Soon, he managed to schedule a meeting at his apartment three hours later; that was when the person selling could bring the laptop over for him to take a look.

Since there was nothing to do for the rest of the afternoon, he decided to train once more. After changing and brushing his teeth, he looked at himself in the bathroom mirror. Reiji had to admit that he looked like a model, even a soap opera heartthrob. When he smiled, he looked a bit dangerous, but there was a dangerous charm emanating from him.

The fact that he had returned to his hair's original color made him look less intimidating, even more presentable. Reiji felt good now that he looked at his own face.

"This is better." He thought as he touched his own face.

After returning to the living room, he clicked to start the [home exercise] option again and felt an uncontrollable urge to exercise once more...

Four hours later...

"What do you think? Are you going to take it?"

Reiji shifted his gaze from the laptop, looking at the twenty-something-year-old man, and nodded: "Yes, here is the money. See if it's right."

The man took the money and, after counting, smiled extending his hand towards Reiji: "It was good doing business with you."

"Likewise." Reiji shook his hand.

Once the seller left, Reiji returned to the living room and resumed using the laptop while sitting on the floor. With a stable Wi-Fi connection and a freshly formatted system, he felt a wave of gratitude for not having to worry about formatting.

He just had to register an account on the Webnovel site and on Word. Naturally, as he didn't have Word installed, he needed to download it.

The entire process took almost 1 hour; the laptop, after all, wasn't the fastest. It was a simple dual-core with 3 GB of DDR3 memory, and the Wi-Fi wasn't very fast for downloading. However, for now, it sufficed.

When everything was ready, he took a deep breath and went to the system settings, choosing the writing option, he began to think about the story of [Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood].

After visualizing the first chapters of the story, he clicked to write for three hours.

In moments, his fingers danced on the keyboard at an incredible speed; in just 30 minutes, he wrote a total of 3,000 words.

Three hours later, his body was sore, and he let out a long sigh while his fingers seemed to be cramping.

However, looking at how much he wrote, Reiji took a deep breath: "Wow, I didn't expect to be able to write so much..."

Nearly 20,000 words. That was the amount he managed to write. And, as he began to revise, he realized that the quality was very good.

"Simply a divine skill..." He murmured with admiration as he read.

It was as if he was rewatching the anime, instead of reading a story. Of course, maybe it's influenced by his own imagination for having seen the anime before, he couldn't say for sure what the audience's reaction would be when reading.

Moving his body, popping sounds echoed, especially from his tense neck and fingers.

After feeling more relaxed, he separated 3,000 words and revised them to be the first chapter. Soon, he took a random image for now of a landscape from a drawing of a village, created a synopsis, chose the genre, and posted the first chapter. With everything ready, he closed the laptop and went to take another bath before preparing dinner.

Before going to sleep, he picked up a movie to watch, it was a pirated DVD he had at home. However, the movie title was strange: Fifty Bites to Eternity.

He went to read the synopsis poorly printed on the DVD paper to decide whether to watch the movie or not: In the dead of night, in a city forgotten by time, Alex Rennor, a young man discredited by luck, finds his fate sealed when chosen by a clan of fifty ancient and powerful vampires. In a ceremony forgotten by the centuries, he is bitten not once, but fifty times, marking him for a transformation that was supposed to be his downfall. Against all odds, Alex not only survives but awakens with a power that defies even the oldest vampires' understanding.

"..."

After pondering, he decided to watch.

On a Monday morning, Reiji woke up before the alarm rang.

Realizing it was 5 a.m., after creating a new save point, he decided to go for a morning run after taking care of his basic needs.

Returning from the run, Reiji washed up and donned the Kuoh Academy uniform. He stood in front of the mirror to fix his hair.

"Mm, not bad," Reiji thought.

Though it might be a sign of narcissism, to Reiji, the reflection of the young man in the mirror seemed excessively attractive.

At seven in the morning, he left his apartment.

"Matsuoka-kun?"

He stopped upon hearing someone call him as he reached the first floor.

Recognizing who it was, he replied: "Good morning, Miss Uehara-chan."

She seemed a bit uncomfortable but greeted him anyway: "Mm, good morning..."

Well, he couldn't blame her for acting this way; although the former Reiji never did anything against her, it was undeniable that he looked at her with greedy eyes.

The only reason he hadn't done anything against her was that the girl was the daughter of the apartment owner, and he couldn't afford to be kicked out, considering the low cost for the high standard of the apartment he lived in.

Mika nervously observed Reiji's face and noticed that, although his eyes seemed to admire her, there was none of the possessive desire from before, which made her sigh in relief.

'What happened to him?' She wondered. 'Did he hit his head and decide to become a better person?'

Well, it wasn't just a simple bump on the head, but rather a soul change, becoming literally a different person...

"I'm going now, see you." Noticing she was uncomfortable with his presence, Reiji decided to leave first.

It made no sense to stay there, nor did it make sense to want to accompany her, since they studied at different schools.

Perplexed, she said, "Bye, bye..."

Turning around and smiling a bit, he waved at her. Then, he continued to distance himself.

Ding! The system indicated that her favorability towards him had increased.

"Huh?" Reiji was speechless, although it was just a 2-point increase, he didn't think he had done anything to deserve those two points.

Well, anyway, it's not like it was a bad thing~

At the train station, when Reiji got off, he noticed someone who was also taking the train with him.

However, as it was very crowded, he hadn't noticed her before.

'Kanade...' He observed her well; she also looked beautiful in a school uniform. Although he thought so, seeing that she hadn't seen him, he chose not to greet her first and left the train station.

Behind him, after passing through the train station turnstile, Kanade seems to have noticed him. She thought doubtfully while looking at Reiji's back: 'Was that Matsuoka-kun?'

It was understandable for her to be in doubt, after all, until yesterday, he had dyed blonde hair, and this time, she was only seeing his back.
