38 Chapter 38 - Doused Flames

Okita watched from the sideslines as the two groups faced off. The Phenex boy had apparently decided that the marriage should be moved forward ahead of schedule and barged into Rias' office demanding she complied. She unsurprisingly refused leading to threats being thrown around before Grayfia stepped in, proposing a Rating Game by the orders of Sirzechs.

" Who is this low-class trash to question me? Do you not know your place low-class trash!?" Riser Phenex spoke loudly as he sent a condescending glance at Rias' pawn while he embracing his queen with the rest of his peerage behind him.

"I do know my position, it's Buchou's side as her servant! We don't need any stupid game, I'll bring you all down right here!" Rias' pawn shouted as the Boosted Gear materialized on his left arm, a [Boost] ringing out as he dashed forwards.

"Mira." Riser said calmly making a short blue haired girl wearing a white gi top and a red jacket holding a pole with bulbous ends meet him half way, blocking him.

"Move, I can't attack such a small girl." Rias' pawn said as he looked at her seriously.

Riser's pawn just looked at him unimpressed before taking a step forward and used her weight to deliver a heavy thrust into his stomach making his body bend around it as spittle flew out of his mouth. Continuing her attack she tossed him into the ceiling, slightly cracking it before Rias' pawn fell down to the floor, barely conscious.

"Issei-san!"

"Issei!"

Rias and her bishop cried out as Rias quickly checked on her pawn.

"Humph I guess the allegedly strongest weapon, the Boosted Gear, wasn't all that it was said to be... Or maybe it's the wielder that's at fault?" Riser mocked before bursting into laughter.

Okita saw Rias clench her fists tightly as she cradled her pawn.

"Fine, let's settle this with a Rating Ga-" She started before all those present in the room suddenly heard something ringing and looked towards Okita.

"Oh?" Okita blinked in slight surprise before reaching into his kimono sleeve and taking out the walkie talkie Koko had given to him before.

"Yes?" Okita answered languidly while ignoring the various stares he could feel locking onto him.

"Century Geezer!" A low mature voice shouted excitedly from the other side.

"Hello Koko. I heard that you were in the underworld, are you having fun over there?" Okita asked with a slight smile.

"Yeah! I fought this Tanning guy and then we went to a mountain range with lots of dragons!"

"Hoh, you did? That sounds fun." Okita said in an impressed voice, a slight tone of indulgence present as he spoke.

"Mhmm! Wait I'll show you, we're having a tournament right now!" Koko said before the call was cut.

Okita raised an eyebrow in slight confusion before he felt the walkie talkie start to pulse slightly for a few moments before abruptly stopping.

A couple of seconds later a weird noise made everyone present look over to one of the walls as it looked like the space in the area cracked slightly before a hand gradually appeared and started to slice downwards, looking like it was cutting through reality.

When it reached the floor the hand disappeared an instant before the thin cut ballooned in width as a portal opened, showing a vast training ground of packed dirt with various dragonlings fighting each other all over the place.

Okita saw Koko fighting in the distance bare handed though at vastly lower strengths than he knew she could. Punching away a dragon she dodged another one and punched that one away too before she got hit with a tail and flew towards the portal she opened.

Koko reoriented herself in the air so that she was flying feet first presumably to kick off the wall and get back into the fight as fast as possible to the detriment of a certain someone who got curious and was trying to get a better look into the other side.

Okita looked on as Koko flew threw the portal and delivered a picture perfect flying kick to the Phenex boy's face smashing him into the wall behind him making a large indent, before she pushed off of him and flew through the portal to the other side again.

The room turned dead silent as the noises of the dragons and Koko fighting was heard from the other side of the portal while they looked at Riser's figure embedded into the wall.

"Nii-sama?" His sister spoke up hesitantly still just as confused by the situation as the rest of them.

A few seconds later they heard Riser let out a low growl of anger as his body started flaring up in flames, his face twisted in rage while his teeth grinded together as he glared daggers at everything and anything he could see with veins pulsing on his temple.

The surroundings started heating up in response to his rage as he opened his mouth and let out a yell of rage.

"You dare disrespect Riser like this!? Do you know who-" His furious speech was suddenly cut off as a stray barrel sized water breath shot through the portal and hit him in the face, his body was sent flying back into the previous indent as the others heard the sounds of him drowning... very angrily drowning.

The stream of water only abated several seconds later showing Riser Phenex stuck in a hole shaped after himself. His body and clothes were drenched in water, a few stray water droplets dripping down his hair and chin while his face looked like it was shadowed, the bottom half of his face set in a fierce scowl as his teeth were grit tightly.

"..."

The others present were just... in numb shock at this point not knowing what to say, what should they say? They looked at each other as if trying to reaffirm that this really happened as they looked at him.

A few moments later his body started shaking in a combination of rage, irritation and annoyance. Flames reappeared around his body turning the water into steam as he slowly pried himself out of the wall.

Just as he got back onto his feet they heard a loud impact from the other side of the portal before a fist sized rock shot through and nailed him in the side of the head, the momentum forcing his head to tilt sideways.

"..."

At this point even Rias' peerage looked at him with varying amouts of pity in their gazes.

Riser... Riser didn't even know what he felt at this point, he felt so much irritation and rage that it reached the point he couldn't even think straight. His shaking body stilled slightly before the shaking returned with a burning vengeance as he started stamping his foot as if throwing a tantrum while flailing his arms around, an inhuman scream escaping his throat in an attempt at somehow expressing the ginourmous amount of indignity he was feeling.

Okita, Grayfia and Rias plus her peerage looked at him blankly, while his peerage sort of just looked away, acting like they didn't know him.

It was at this point that Koko returned from the other side, stepping through the portal.

"Is he doing the chicken dance?" Koko tilted her head as she pointed at Riser.

"..."

Most of the people inside the room froze... again. As they processed her words before Riser who had stilled when he heard her suddenly let out an even louder inhuman scream, sounding like he was constricting his throat making it slightly resemble a rooster's call as he leapt towards Koko in blind rage.

Koko reflexively gave him a smack sending him flying back into the by now familiar indent, unconsciously doing something quite terrifying by instinctively tapping into another one of the concepts she possessed.

Unfortunately the valiant and mighty wall could no longer remain standing strong, now sporting a life-sized Riser shaped hole.

"..."

The room once again, again. Descended into silence for a few moments before Riser's peerage sort of just shuffled out of the door while avoiding looking at anyone in the eyes, a teleportation spell activating about a minute later.

"This room is kinda fancy, Century Geezer. Are you guys secretly important people?" Koko suddenly said as she looked around the ORC's office curiously.

"Anyway, I'll see you later Century Geezer!" Without waiting for a reply Koko excitedly dashed back into the portal, closing it after her.

"I will also take my leave. Remember Rias, 10 days from now." Grayfia coughed into her hand before turning to Rias and speaking seriously, disappearing with a teleportation spell after a slight bow a few seconds later.

Okita watched as Rias looked down into her hand before clenching it tightly, her eyes shining with resolve before he replayed the previous scene in his mind.

For just a couple of seconds after Koko smacked the Phenex boy his regeneration completely stopped working... it was almost as if it disappeared into Nothingness...
