Underworld & Heaven I

The Underworld's old capital, Lucifaad.

The previous capital of the underworld, previously ruled by the original satans is without a doubt an iconic place for the 72 pillars, so much so that whenever a meeting is to be celebrated, it still takes place in this location rather than the new capital where the new Lucifer resides, Lilith.

An important meeting took place two weeks after the incidents took place in the dimensional gap. The underworld was shaken to its core and the supernatural world would never be the same.

In the middle of a gigantic hall, the remaining families of the seventy-two pillars reunited to discuss an important topic, the situation in the council room was hectic; all of the family heads were in a single place, in one side there were the devils of the supremacy, on the other side there were the conservatives.

Serafall stood together with Sirzechs, by her side was a lady with pink hair standing proudly, a past Rating game champion, Roygun Belphegor.

By Sirzechs' side was his Queen Layla who kept attracting gazes with her progressively deepening golden strands of hair, the more time passed, the more notorious her changes became, she never answered questions but many induced the origin of her change.

Their conservative side had as the primal supporters the Lucifuge Clan, Gremory Clan, the Phenex Clan and the Sitri Clan. Other weaker families such as the Vassago and Stolas were also on their side. Compared to their rival party; their support was overwhelmingly inferior.

On the other side of the room, there were Falbium Asmodeous and Ajuka Beelzebub.

The Green haired Devil King stood by his ex-Archangel wife and Queen, Sandalphon while by Falbium Asmodeous' side, there was a fallen angel lady, Bezaliel.

The families supporting them were the 1st Ranked Clan and leader of the 72 pillars, the Bael; the second Ranked Agares Clan. Glaysa-labolas, Astaroth, Andrealphus and Belial Clans.

While madness ensued in the chamber, the words that the satans least expected to occur were the first to be mentioned by Lord Glaysa-labolas.

"We need to cancel the rating game, exposing our satans to fight that monster is nothing short of seeking death!"

"Yes!" Another devil from the conservative party agreed with him, a shocking fact considering both sides usually threw at each other in the room.

"We shall pay the Golden Dragon compensation in order to void this matter".

Once again everyone agreed.

Fia who was on the conservative side representing the Lucifuge together with her assistant, Lucy... almost couldn't resist her urge to laugh.

The four satans thought they were hearing wrong; most of the time the council wouldn't care less about their lives and directly send them to danger so long as the devils could rip off the profits, it seems for once in their long life they know how hopeless the situation is.

"Our position is vulnerable enough, there is no need to risk the life of either of our satans for the sake of face, we both sides should agree on this!"

"Yes, we agree... if possible we should be looking for ways to render him our ally instead of engaging in hopeless campaigns".

"What options do we have? with the rest of the supernatural community aware of his relationship with the Lucifuge Clan it will benefit our position".

"I agree with Lord Vassago, but it will also transform us into the primary target of groups such as Khaos Brigade they're going to try and create a breach of this relationship, possibly targeting the Lucifuge Clan directly".

"The Lucifuge Family should ascend to the first rank…"

"W-Wait!-"

"A votation of peers should be held, should the Lucifuge Clan replace the Bael Clan as the new head of the council? those that agree to stand up for your place" Lord Bael didn't even allow Fia to interject, the responsibility as the head family of the council was not one that could be rejected.

The majority of families stood up, and hence, much to Fia's exasperation, the Lucifuge Clan would now be the one ranked first. Another person that clutched her forehead was Layla.

'They hope to gain brother-in-law's favour with useless means...' she thought.

"It is decided now; Lady Lucifuge you are henceforth the head of this council".

A round of applause ensued in which everyone sat back down, awaiting her stunned words.

"I-I... I guess I have no choice, as the head of the Lucifuge Clan I shall endeavour in choosing the best politics for the benefit of us devils. I will begin by stating that any secular method to approach the 'Golden Dragon' is useless".

"We understand the head's concerns but until Lady Calliope is awakened from her slumber, the Lucifuge Clan should have primal protection. We don't know what the golden dragon's reaction could be if his 'companion' is to suffer any mishap during her slumber, this is also a factor the terrorist could take into consideration in order to trigger him".

"Lord Belial can rest assured that Lady Calliope won't be disturbed any time soon. There is no need to place additional pressure and compliance on my Lucifuge Clan; the more pressure you put on my son-in-law, the more likely he is to depart the underworld, stop making useless moves!" Fia answered, keeping her voice straight.

"It is good that you remind us, Lady Lucifuge. How is his and Lady Grayfia's relationship, she could serve as-" A member of the devil supremacy faction began, only to be swiftly shut down by none other than Layla who opened her mouth much to Sirzechs' surprise, as his Queen she had voice in the council, but it wasn't usual for her to express her opinion over him.

"Grayfia Lucifuge is a devil no longer; she is now a demoness and her home is not the underworld, requesting such a position from her is not only unbecoming but shall also produce a counterintuitive result in the long run regarding our relationship with my brother-in-law" She declared, the last thing she desired was for this ridiculous council to start dropping responsibilities on their heads, in all selfishness she desired her new master to stay in the underworld for as long as possible; but she knew that wasn't going to happen.

Sirzechs remained silent, not expressing his opinion in the matter. As far as he was concerned, anything related to Grayfia didn't have anything to do with him anymore. As for his personal hatred with Richter Golden-Haze, that was their to settle someway else. As he looked at his queen she felt so confident and foreign, that he couldn't believe he let such a treasure slip out of his hands, alas... it seemed to be too late to recover it.

The council meeting continued until the first day finished, it was supposed to be three days of sessions in order to decide the future of the underworld related to this issue, usually in such meetings there would be many more members associated, such as the head of the Archangels, Michael or the Head of Grigory, Azazel... even the representative of the Shinto Faction, an ally of the devils, Yasaka.

But this was a secret session involving the Golden Dragon and hence, only devils and their close relatives were involved.

When the session finished, Sirzechs walked alongside Layla to find his peerage waiting outside, there were an absentminded Aphrodite, Surtr and Akita Souji.

"How did it go?"

"Nothing conclusive, but the rating game was indeed cancelled, at least now we don't have to ridicule ourselves in front of the whole underworld, he should also be content with this result" Layla answered, she began walking away, catching everyone's attention.

"Where are you going, Layla?"

"I'm heading to the Lucifuge Territory to see if brother-in-law and big sister have returned, it has been more than two weeks and there is no sight of them. I'm beginning to worry... once my mother comes out of the council room, I'll head back with her".

It certainly produced a feeling of astonishment in the peerage, she had at no moment asked for Sirzechs' permission to do this. Aphrodite liked her lips slightly and walked up to her.

"I'll accompany-"

"You're not going with her, Aphrodite".

"Sirzechs-sama?"

"You're all coming back with me to Lilith, j-just... be sure to tuck Millicas to bed, Layla".

"I doubt I need your input in this matter, Sirzechs..."

"..." The redhead frowned and pulled Aphrodite by her wrist who was reluctant to go but acceded nonetheless, she threw Layla a gaze only to find the silver-haired beauty smirking towards her, waving her hand amusingly.

'Y-You... don't think I'll just give up!-'

Her thoughts were cleared when a magic circle appeared and they were all teleported away from Lucifaad.

Fia came out shortly after together with Lucy and a tired expression, she was fed up and this was merely her first day as the head of the council.

'You needn't worry, mummy, if you want I can take your place~ with this the Nephilim Faction would gain a lot more control'.

'Do whatever you want Lucy, but please; take me out of here! I want to be hugging my son-in-law, not a pile of papers!'
