The Maid Knows...

[Richter's POV]

I don't know if my mother-in-law is nice, problematic or eccentric. Either way, I'm quite enjoying this experience of having one, as expected of me... regardless of the universe I'm always collecting treasures.

When Grayfia reached the main room, she did so with a bright smile, gasps were immediate about the moment she entered, it was safe to say she was a lot more beautiful than her first time if that was even possible... somehow Fia managed to make it happen.

Sirzechs' gaze lingered on her all the time, but now, instead of interest... instead of lust... there was only disappointment, grief and sadness... as if he finally became aware of what he lost and wouldn't ever recover.

I like it, I didn't kill you, bastard... but you couldn't be any more dead inside.

'And by the look of my beloved mother-in-law's schemes, it seems you're going to lose everything and it can only be your fault for being so blind and stubborn'

I could only sigh, perhaps the fellow didn't deserve it... but he sought his own fall with his actions. I have seen a ton of them, regret is everlasting for those.

Grayfia greeted many from the distance, particularly the side of the Gremory, Agares and Bael.

As Layla walked towards me, her wings started to protrude and she flapped them in all their display, stunning every soul in the room. I wondered why she did that, but then realised that the golden wings went perfectly with her golden dress and silver gold-ish hair, I see... she's trying to be as breathtaking as possible.

When she reached my side, without interrupting our lock until the last moment, she bowed towards me.

"I apologise for the wait, master, I'm here now".

I nodded and prepared to sit back down, Grayfia took the tray that was almost empty from my hands, surprising me... the beautiful maid walked with graceful steps towards the aperitive section where she got some shrimp and an assortment of some more things that I didn't recognise.

She walked back to me and I extended my hand to receive the tray with a smile, but she didn't do that.

Grayfia moved a chair and sat beside me.

"These are called quail eggs, master... back then, aside from shrimps and many types of cheese, they were my favourite, would you want to try them?~" She said and showed me the things that she got, quite closely.

I could sense everyone's stares but ignored them, instead, I nodded and prepared to take one of them to see what it is like, but she took it instead.

"Say, Ahh~"

"Ah?"

"Open bigger, say 'Ahh' master~"

I didn't understand what she meant, but whispering became the rule in the room when she did that and Sirzechs was releasing such ominous energy when she saw her doing it, what's the big deal? I opened my mouth bigger and Grayfia then coated the egg in sauce and placed it in my mouth directly.

Eh? why does... why does this feel so different than eating it on my own?

I munched on the quail egg coated in a pink sauce that she gave me and looked at her absentmindedly.

"It is delicious"

"Right?~ here, have one of these" she took something that was like a pink ball coated in dense dew, a thick and sweet liquid.

"This liquid reminds me of something~" I said and my maid blushed like never before.

"M-Master, don't say that... there are people..."

"What? it could have been another thing, AHH~" I opened my mouth big again, looking forward to her next move.

She placed the thing in my mouth and it was so delicious and sweet, what is this?! are these things even in Helius?!

"This is?" I wondered.

"That's a cherry~ it is coated in sugary dew, but most of the flavour is from the cherry anyway, do you want another?~"

"Ahh~" I was loving this... it seems I won't be feeding myself anymore. I even went as far as to close my eyes this time and numb my vision to focus on the taste of that cherry, for several seconds nothing happened and I was getting irritated, until, something touched my mouth.

Noises, yelling and whistling became the norm around us, when I opened my eyes, Grayfia was kissing me, she had a cherry in her mouth that she passed from hers to mine... her tongue invaded mine, leaving me breathless.

When I was about to retreat she took my cheeks and held them in place, deepening the kiss, going as far as to stand from her chair just to catch up to my lips, the banquet seemed to have to liven up as I held Grayfia's waist and pulled her against me, we both fell on the chair and continued without business.

'Master, forgive me... please... I don't want us to ever fight, I'm sorry for disappointing you and going against my words... I can't kill him because he doesn't deserve it, but I feel nothing for him, my heart is yours, everything that is me is yours, please receive it'

I felt her feelings conveying so much, that people began noticing the danger of the situation.

The hall was beginning to freeze, transforming into a beautiful frozen golden winter scenery, as if a small golden blizzard had invaded the hall.

It lasted until I released her lips, "consider yourself forgiven..." I smiled.

I remember that Monique used to tell me, that our first battle... she lost it when she fell in love with me. I guess I'm losing this battle against Grayfia.

There will be more chances to test her loyalty... for now... this is a nice repayment.
