5 Chapter 4

Atlas, my dear, remembered what I said about resting. You have been carrying the weight of the sky for so long, can you rest a little."

" The weight of the sky was too much even for me, but I fear that if I stopped training my muscles I will lose my way..."

" You and your stubbornness. I tried to help you with this weight all the time, but no you refused again and again."

"For a long time at least I did not to have carry this weight alone," Atlas said.

"Oh, when you carry fifty percent of all the weight, why do your three uncles take the rest?"

"None of them had my strength."

"My bad sons tricked you, my poor child."

"I am no longer a child grandma, I know. But what son would I be if I did not carry this burden for my mother, even after I was too cowardly at that time to protect you from that man?"

"It's not your fault. A son should not be made to fight his own father, I was just desperate at the time."

" Mother. It's not your fault. It was my duty to protect you, a duty I failed to see and do."

"I know is not any of our fault..."

It was a really bonding moment between a mother and a son. I saw that people really began to feel very comfortable around me. I coughed and they regained focus.

Atlas knew on one knee and said:

"I wanted to swear my loyalty to you, lord Ouranos II. I vow to serve you with loyalty  by the water of the Styx."

"I accept your vow."

"You did not seem surprised."

"Your mother told me."

"Mother..."

I thought about something. As a Greek primordial my roots were still on earth, I think I could let some form of connection with it.

" Gaia, do you mind, if I take a piece of the earth to build a flying island?"

"No."

"I will return in an instant."

I teleported myself back to the moon where I cut off with an air divinity slice a small piece of my roots.

I teleported back to the earth more specifically to the sky on the earth. I could freely teleport between the earth and the moon because both the moon and the earth sky were in some way my domain.

My teleportation was much more precise when I teleported back to the moon where my body truly was.

My domain was actually the moon sky and not the air sky, at least physically, but in a mystical sense, my domain was also the earth sky.

It was a connection similar to the domain of normal gods, but much stronger. Making the flying island would help to restore my connection to the earth's sky.

I planted the root near, where Atlas was training. I connected my consciousness to the root, and a little clone of mine began to grow. It did not have a conscience of its own, as I wanted. It worked like an extra limp of mine on the Earth.

And so a flying island was formed with my clone in its center.

"I think only a flying island, would be to me. So I think of making an inheritance test"

"Inheritance test?" Gaia asked.

I took inspiration from cultivation novels, where in some secret site one may inherit the legacy of a past cultivator by passing the texts left behind by him, sometimes being able to inherit even their bloodline.

I thought of making a test that would give my bloodline to the mortals who passed my test.

"I am thinking of leaving a test here and whoever mortal passes it may inherit my bloodline, turning into a demigod."

"But how?"

"In a mystical sense, there is power in blood right? Humans may not drink blood easily, by my blood as a tree is a divine sap.

If people drink a drop it may make them much stronger, and with the blessing you gave me my "blood" could easily make the person who drank evolve and adept, probably becoming a demigod. A primordial's demigod would be a sign to see."

"Why?"

"It could spread my name far and wide, and it would be interesting to see mortals reaching much higher heights, with a little support from me."

"Do you plan to let gods participate in it?"

"I am only interested in giving the weakest race, humans, a chance to prosper. I would only give my legacy to gods or monsters if they proved to me they were trustworthy.

I am not blind to know, how much a really powerful being could prosper from it. I am not sure if I can make a test truly hard enough for gods."

"Makes sense."

" Can I use Greek letters to carve magic on the island?"

" I do not know much about magic. If you have a good enough magic material it can work, but it is much less efficient than norse runes, much less primordial runes"

"I think I will use them. I do not want to ask for help to learn runes from that pervert old man."

To my surprise in this world, Odin was mostly known for his pervertedness and not his wisdom, by Ouranos memories. Was I in that world (DxD)? I hoped not. Having a childish, selfish, and stupid Loli in charge of infinity seems troublesome.

" Are rituals a form of magic?"

"Like how?"

"Using a form of symbolism related to a god or legends in other to power up some magic and achieve some special effect."

" Never heard of rituals being used to use magic, to us gods we mainly used divinity, and magic is sort of intuitive, but we are usually just talented in magic related to our domain, except for magic gods.

Humans do rituals with some deities to receive miracles, done by divine energy from them, but the ritual only gives faith power to the gods, and mortals need to do it more to please the gods than to make something happen.

Human magic is much more mathematical than anything. I don't know if symbolism can be used to strengthen magic."

" So it's a gamble. Atlas can you help me test something?"

"Yes, my lord."
