"I'm not a naive old woman. You are just trying to get me to trust you," she said with her eyes burning blue while she slowly got out of bed.
"Raven show her," I said to my companion.
Raven activated her Maiden powers and her eyes glowed red. The Winter Maiden and the Spring Maiden stared at each other. Both of them are ready for a battle. However, if they did battle Raven would lose.
I was the only one that could tell something interesting about their Maiden powers though. They seemed to be crying out to each other. A sense of longing was connecting Raven and the elderly woman.
"I wasn't trying to trick you. If you really want someone to have the powers that won't suffer, let me take them." I told her. "If I am correct. You may be able to live also."
She deactivated her eyes and shook her head.
"The Maiden powers are attached to the soul, so that possibility is low. Even if it is, I don't think I want to live on. I'm going to die either way. However, I think it would be better for me to go to the next Maiden." she said, making both Raven and me confused.
"You won't notice it now, but in the later years, the pass wielders start talking to you. Telling you secrets that normally wouldn't be known. Like how they were created." She started explaining. "Ozpin is a ruthless bastard. He used his own daughter's souls to create the Maidens. Why do you think it is so rare for a Maiden to reach adulthood or even old age?"
"You would think Grimm or Salem would be the cause. No, Ozpin would send us on missions expecting us to die. I heard he did that most recently to the Summer Maiden. He tried on me but I faked my death and never returned to him. I only came here because my time is near anyways." the old woman told us.
"You said he did that to the Summer Maiden? Do you know who she was?" Raven asked. "Also, how do you even know the Summer Maiden was sent to her death by him?"
"When you start to hear the past Wielders they are able to sense the death of other Maidens and the cause. I don't know who she was but I do know it was around 14 years ago." The woman told Raven.
Raven soon had tears flowing down her face and she went to her knees.
"It couldn't be. He wouldn't. Why her?" Raven started mumbling.
I put my hand on her shoulder to comfort her. When she felt me she looked at me in hope.
"Let me ask the lamp a question. I need to know. Please." She begged.
"Don't beg. There is no need." I told her. "Go ahead. However, I will ask the question."
Raven grabbed the lamp and called out Jinn's name.
Time stopped for everything, but the Winter Maiden, Raven, and me. Jinn bowed to me and I couldn't help, but sigh.
"What is your question, master? However, this is my last question for the century," she told us.
"Tell me of the most recent and present Summer Maidens. Including their names and locations." I told Jinn.
"That isn't a question, master?" Jinn said, getting on my nerves.
"We want to know about the most recent and present Summer maidens from the last 20 years. Can you tell us? Happy now." I asked her.
The world changed around us and two people appeared in front of us. When they appeared Raven started bursting out crying. We saw two identical-looking people.
"Twenty years ago, oddly enough Summer Rose met the dying Summer Maiden. Even though Summer tried saving her she failed. For she had been killed by poison from a scorpion Faunus. Named Tyrian." Jinn told us.
"Summer was the last one the Summer Maiden saw. She was chosen to be the next Maiden. Having the power of silver eyes and a Maiden made her a great asset to Ozpin. However, it is also a liability." She explained more.
"Ozpin feared she would fall into Salem's hands. So, he sent her out on a mission and helped with her supplies. Slipped a drug into her water. It made her sluggish." Jinn explained more by showing a scene where Summer was holding herself up on a sword with her eyes shining silver. "However, a silver-eyed warrior won't fall so easily. Neither will a Maiden."
The scene changed to a massive amount of Grimm coming after Summer while behind her were many statues of Grimm turned to stone. Also, some piles of ash laid near her. However, you could see Summer clearly. In the vision, Summer closed her eyes and had a smile on her face.
"In her final moments, she figured out the truth. She wasn't meant to come back alive. So, she clearly pictured the face of her daughters." Jinn showed us Summer's thoughts.
Ruby and Yang were playing tag together as kids. Ruby stealing cookies from the cookie jar. Yang being rebellious and trying to stay up late. After all, they were only kids. A tear went down Summer's face and she was overwhelmed by Grimm.
"NO!" Raven yelled trying to go toward the vision to save Summer. I held her back while she started fighting me wanting to save Summer.
"The last people she thought about were her kids. The Summer Maiden powers went to the next host. The power is sentient so it decided to go to the one most similar to the previous host." Jinn explained, showing another scene.
Ruby was walking through Beacon with her team. However, the vision clearly focused on her. It showed her staying up late studying and getting frustrated. Without her noticing her eyes burned silver slightly and the wind blew her pencil away. She just grabbed it thinking it rolled and kept working.
