14 Innocent Witch

Words: 1237

I had free time after I took my state math test, so I decided to fix some plot holes probably. I read some of the comments on previous chapters and you guys have probably noticed that my knowledge of DxD is lackluster.

Honestly, my memory of DxD is like a fever dream. I only remember titties and ass. But yeah, I tried to write some things that might help the story later on, but if it doesn't make sense, please comment, and I'll try to find a way to fix it.

Alright, but this time, for real, I'm going to take a break until the weekends. It was just lucky that I had free time because it was block scheduling.

...

"You've been causing quite the trouble for the Vatican, Sister Asia."

Griselda had returned to Kuoh after a few days of solving whatever problem the Vatican needed. She was looking at me with a polite smile, but it felt strained and stressed.

I guess word of my assassination attempt had spread. I was technically a part of the Angel Faction due to my connection with Griselda and Gabriel, so it could be seen as an attempt by the Fallen Angels to start things.

I didn't instantly kill Raynare and her group because I thought they were still considered under Grigori.

It was good that Azazel had announced that Kokabiel had betrayed him and brought many of his followers with him. Kokabiel was a warmonger and the equivalent of super racist.

He just wanted to start a war for the hell of it and cause some chaos. His plan had always likely been trying to kill Rias or Sona to make Sirzechs or Serafall engage in a war with the fallen angels.

I'm pretty sure that after the Great War, the Bibical Factions were at their weakest and didn't want to start another war. The angels of Heaven are thinning out and are the biggest losers right now. The Fallen Angels were getting by fine, but the Devils were the biggest winners.

They could always reincarnate anyone into their peerage if they were suitable for their needs and demands.

News of Aegis had spread to the other factions because he was summoned to devil territory and killed fallen angels with ease.

The Vatican didn't say that they had anyone like him under their wing, but Griselda told me that they were planning to recruit or forcefully indoctrinate him into their order.

My mistake was thinking that news wouldn't spread like wildfire when this was a supernatural world. There were eyes everywhere, and gossip would likely be common amongst the greedy.

The corrupt Church wanted his power to reestablish some of their lost control. People like Vasco Strada, Ewald Cristaldi, Dulio Gesualdo, and Griselda were all strong combatants of the Church. With the addition of Aegis, the other two factions would likely be deterred by the Vatican's strength to some degree.

The only problem for the Vatican was whether they should allow me back as a Holy Maiden again. Aegis was my guardian knight, and Griselda was my mentor and legal guardian in some sense.

It would be seen as a stain if they had an exiled Holy Maiden being taken care of by multiple high-ranking members. But it would also stain their egos if they accepted an exiled person back.

It was a contradiction that I honestly didn't care about. They could pester me all they want, but I'm not officially returning to the Vatican. If anything, I would rather establish an organization like I planned when I got the Bard Potion.

Griselda found out I used her name when I said Aegis was a person sent by the Vatican, which got her into some heavy fire. I felt bad for her because of the stress I could see, but what's in the past is in the past.

I made a mistake that I'll take responsibility for and move on.

But the Vatican was facing another problem. It was an event I knew shouldn't have appeared this early, considering Rias's marriage peerage game hadn't occurred yet, and Issei hadn't even awakened his Boosted Gear.

The theft of the Excalibur fragments, which were Excalibur Rapidly, Nightmare, and Transparency.

Kokabiel was already jumpstarting his plan because of his multiple failures. He likely saw a possibility for war and latched onto that.

However, I don't see how his plan is efficient. How did he think he would take down either Serafall or Sirzechs when he invaded Kuoh? He's a 10-winged angel, and they're both Satans.

Yeah, he would have killed the sisters of the Satans if not for Issei doing protagonist bullshit and Vali Lucifer coming out of nowhere, but he would have likely died in the process. Maybe he didn't care if he died as long as he managed to start another war, which makes him psychopathic, but I'm sure most people already knew that.

Anyway, I have already met Issei. But this was before I possessed Asia's body and the day she arrived in Kuoh. He recognized me when Rias revisited the church to speak with me about the increasing security.

The only reason why I didn't see him the first time was that Rias said that Griselda knocked him out from his lewd comments. The moment he saw Griselda, he shouted that her breasts were massive. The nun had endured the comments toward her, but when Issei began to hear Rias mention that they were meeting me, he asked if I had big breasts, too.

Because Griselda saw me as pure and innocent, she took his comment as an offense to Gabriel and me. Speaking of which, I got a title out of nowhere.

[Title: Innocent Witch]

As the strongest Fallen Angel and someone with thousands of years of experience, Azazel can instantly detect signs of acting and lying. You've been dubbed a person who innocently acts like a pure nun but has a different personality underneath.

Your acting won't work against those with high levels of perception and are observant, but Innocence will increase its effect against normal people and double against the oblivious.

The title was calling me a fake ass bitch, but hey, whatever it takes to become stronger and survive. I should have chosen Harry Potter because, at least, it would be an easier world to live in.

The things I've gotten from my Daily Summons have already shown power surpassing Harry Potter's strength. The only thing that I would dread is learning magic.

Children can learn easier, but I have the mind of a teenager, and my feelings about school are mixed.

It would also be annoying because if I got transmigrated into someone's body, I wouldn't have their memory. With the possibility of transmigrating into the body of someone relevant to the story, I would have to figure out their situation and past.

The thing about Asia was that, while I didn't have her memories, she didn't have anyone on a deeper connection with her.

The anime does not discuss Asia's backstory, other than her being abandoned as a baby, growing up in the Vatican, and finally being exiled. The light novel might have, but I've never read it.

Back to Issei, he might awaken his Longinus through protagonist anime powers, but I assume it won't be for a while. Asia's death was what truly activated it through his intense emotions when Raynare killed the poor nun.

Unless he goes through an intense burst of strong emotions to awaken Ddraig, I don't think he'll be a primary factor. If Kokabiel decides to attack Kuoh with an army of his followers, I should still be able to survive.

Aegis hasn't gone out with his full strength yet, but I assume he's stronger than Kokabiel with Crusade Against Evil and his Holy Aura. The Cadre of Grigori lost to Vasco Strada, a human, but that's even if you consider that monster of a man to be one.

What I'm getting at is if Kokabiel attacks Kuoh, he will either die by Aegis or Griselda, who will probably stay here to protect me for a bit.
