12 Governor of Grigori

Words: 1351

Do you guys think this story is slow-paced? I've been thinking of adding the tag.

Also, this week is kind of a shitty one for me. I'm basically getting obliterated by school, so it's beginning to get harder to write longer or multiple chapters.

Next week is basically a free week, though, or at least I hope so.

Anyway, enjoy the chapter while I take my nap.

...

"Yo, nice to meet you, Asia Argento. I'm Azazel."

A man with black hair, golden bangs, and a black goatee was sitting before me.

Azazel was the Governor General of Grigori and the supposed reason for much of the world's evil. Seems like a chill dude, though. I wasn't nervous compared to when I met Sirzechs and Gabriel, which I assumed was because I had gotten used to it. After you see your first angel or devil, you become used to the supernatural things in life.

My house was beginning to become a meeting place like Kuoh Academy did in the anime. One moment, I have a devil king; the other, I have an archangel.

Seriously, what's so appealing about meeting me? Can't you make some fodder give me a letter instead? I've gotten used to interacting with others, but I'm still an antisocial person at heart.

Ah… I guess it's for the better. It always felt lonely not having anyone to talk to. Well, they're not talking to me on a personal level, except for Gabriel.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Lord Azazel," We gave our simple pleasantries.

"Oh please, just call me Azazel," I noticed his eyes checking out every inch of my body. Eeeuh, wasn't his reason for falling due to lust? I should stay away from this guy. He's a handsome dude and all, but I still like girls!

Have you seen Griselda and Gabriel? They are rocking two large meat mounds that I would want to smother myself between. But that's beside the point.

"If that is fine with you…" I politely nodded before noticing him clasp his hands together.

He slightly bowed his head, "I apologize for my rowdy underlings. You wouldn't have been in danger if I had controlled them."

Was he talking about Raynare or the fallen angels sent to assassinate me? Either way, at least he was apologizing for it. I won't fully forgive him because I know what happened to the original Asia, but I should find solace for her.

"Thank you for sparing their lives."

I shook my head, "My encounter with the fallen angels was both lucky and fatal. I could have died at any moment, but I'm glad that I met Sister Griselda and Gabriel from it."

It might have been the doing of the universe or perhaps the System, but I'm still happy. Griselda was that one protective older sister, while Gabriel was somewhat fun to interact with.

"I see. Haha, I guess there is always a light in the dark. I won't ask you for your true forgiveness because I know it's my fault, but I'll give you this."

Azazel pulled a medium-sized box, roughly 9 inches in length, from his pocket and placed it on the table. He looked at me and gestured for me to open it.

There's a possibility it's a bomb, but there's no way Azazel would gift me a bomb. Well, maybe as a joke, but we're not that close.

It could also be something else I won't explicitly describe, but it does seem lengthy. I lifted the box's cover and saw what was lying inside.

A gun.

Who gives a nun a gun? Oh, that rhymes. The gun had a silver barrel with angelic golden markings etched on the side. Its beautiful design was crafted with intricate parts.

"Like it? Its name is Seraphic Sanctifier. Seraphic for its angelic design and Sanctifier for its purpose, sending enemies to Heaven."

Huh, nice naming sense. I thought he would have slapped on some stupid name like he did with the Blazer Shining or Darkness Blade. I would have kept it either way since my naming sense isn't any better.

I probably would have just copied DMC and called it Ivory.

"Thank you, Azazel! I love it," I was being truthful on this. The gun would be an excellent addition to my meager arsenal, which consisted of my standard Light Sword and Light Gun.

I noticed Azazel's eyes turn to the side.

"Now that I've given my gift, Asia, that Aegis fellow. Could you tell me what his origins are?" I turned my attention to Aegis, who was still summoned. I couldn't unsummon him because I had spun a story about Griselda sending him to protect me.

She'll likely ask me about him, too, but I needed a scapegoat.

"He doesn't talk much about his past, but he said that his faith was always in God."

Azazel stood up and walked towards Aegis with a slight smile but an observing look. He stood before the paladin while looking him up and down.

"You aren't a true living being, are you?" Argh, I guess I can't hide it from Azazel. He was stated to be an extremely attentive person and likes to research.

He should know the difference between living and non-living.

"I don't hear a single breath, but the sound of multiple breaths. Either you're the amalgamation of several beings in one, or you're just two midgets in a suit of armor."

There was nothing I could do about it as I nodded my head toward Aegis. The paladin removed his helmet, revealing the black mist beneath it.

The sound of the mist echoed in the room like an air conditioner.

Azazel marveled at the sight, "Fascinating! What are you? Some sort of reanimated armor? A spirit possessing armor? More importantly, you seem to have a distinct feeling like a Sacred Gear."

His eyes looked toward me, "You two have the same feeling… Do you perhaps have two Sacred Gears?"

Could people have two Sacred Gears? I don't fully remember the anime, but people always only had one Sacred Gear, so I assumed it would be impossible for such an occurrence.

[AN: Can people have more than two Sacred Gears? I haven't seen DxD in a while. I also have a shitty memory, so I basically don't remember the show in vivid detail.]

If this is true, using this as a story would be easier. Aegis doesn't have a history in this world, which would make people suspicious of him, so I'll just say he's my second Sacred Gear.

It might be rare, but it's much easier to fabricate an entire identity out of nowhere. He's a paladin-looking knight who isn't known at the Vatican, so people will assume his origin.

Still, people aren't as observant as Azazel is. I should be okay with the story I've spun so far. I nodded in confirmation, making Azazel's eyes glow for a second.

"You're a fascinating person, Asia. I won't do anything to you since I still respect my sister Gabriel."

Oh, thank… God? Who would I thank if he were dead? Eh, probably Michael. Anyway, I didn't want to be experimented on or anything.

"We should probably cut our time short here. Thank you for showing me such an interesting thing, but I still got a shitload of paperwork to do. Ah, Asia, you should see the paperwork on my desk!"

From a charismatic leader and researcher to a lazy goofball, all leaders have oddities. Sirzechs's a siscon and a slave to his wife, Michael's… something, I honestly don't know much of him, and Azazel's a mega pervert.

I hope they don't bother me anytime soon.

But that's just setting a red flag for myself.

Well, maybe I'll be luckier today because of that. I haven't used my Daily Summon yet.

[Extra luck!]

[You have double summoned…]

[Item: Bard Potion]

The Sun Pathway is known for its traditional priest-like abilities, such as powerful light, holy magic, and buffing abilities. Sequence 9 Bard is only the beginning of a more extraordinary path, one that leads to madness and corruption, but also one that is supreme power.

[Item: Fragment of Aponia (1/3)]

After the deletion of the Elysian Realm, the Flame-Chasers, who died 50,000 years ago, faded into the canals of time once more. Only by the saving grace of a mysterious figure was their data preserved in the System.

Your chances of getting Fragment of Aponia (2/3) and (3/3) are increased.

Well, damn.
