72 Chapter 72

Nero Claudius was the Emperor. She ruled the battlefield just as she ruled over music with her supreme musical talent. Unlike her comrades, she fought for herself and herself alone as there was nothing more beautiful than making her goal a reality with her own hands.

"Umu!" Nodding to herself in response while her sword danced around her, the necks of dozens of Nilrem members were cut in twain and their bodies were cursed to fall into the sky. Blood rained from the heavens, soaking her crimson dress and staining her pale flesh.

However, the loud stomp of a monstrosity aroused her curiosity. Turning to her newest foe she was greeted with an opponent some beastly, so ugly, that it held a twisted sense of beauty that while Nero did not appreciate she could respect.

It was pitch black, its skin the color of tar, as bubbles formed and popped atop its flesh every moment. Its head was a mix of dozens of animals held together by stitching and pure willpower and its eyes were mindless yet filled with untamed desire.

"Umu! You shall make a perfect partner for this dance!" She proclaimed proudly, her voice capturing the beast's attention in a flash. Running over to her somewhat clumsily she smiled in pure battle lust, her sword raised in front of her ominously.

Cutting through the air it effortlessly penetrated its flesh, the tar like substance burning the air it touched. Leaping back she watched on in disappointment as it fell to the ground, the chimera's head falling to the ground.

Yet that worry disappeared alongside the familiar scene of wiggling flesh. Growing from both its neck and head the beast didn't only regenerate, it practically cloned itself. Roaring at the same time the two beasts charged at her mindlessly.

If Rizevim was there he would happily brag about the creature that he and his followers had created. Born from the Beast of Annihilation and held together with the power of infinity the beast was unkillable. Prototype: 666 was a machine of uncontrollable destruction.

"Umu!" Shouting that word happily despite the danger of the situation Nero charged forward, her blade cutting them into hundreds of pieces in a mere instant. Despite its powerful regeneration and 'parents' it was only at the level of a high class devil in individual power.

Watching on in amusement hundreds of the beings rose from the ground, their cumulative roars shattering any glass that may remain of the city around them. Once more letting her famous phrase echo throughout the area she moved once more.

Endlessly she bisected the beasts, her blade now encased in holy flames that permanently scarred their flesh yet did little else. Rotating through a myriad of abilities none held any effect on the thousands of beasts that lay before her.

However, that mattered little for Nero Claudius. For a swordsman, their will was more important than anything. No matter their weapon nor their target, should they wholeheartedly believe they can cut something it will be cut. Should it connect, of course.

Nero Claudius was the peak of swordsmanship, her will was unrivaled and none alive could rival it. As a swordsman, there was nothing better. However, what truly made a difference between her and her fellow sword fanatics was her 'secret power'.

Despite hundreds knowing of it she had no idea she possessed it. It was not an attempt to protect her but rather to keep her bragging to a minimum. Despite her belief that she was a swordsman alone, she possessed a sacred gear. A rare one at that.

"Umu! You deserve to see my full power!" Nero shouted eagerly, her blade raised high above her head as divinity surrounded her blade, dancing around her blade with all the elegance of a storm yet containing the beauty of a master painting.

Whimsical Dreams, a rare sacred gear with the ability to make the user's dreams a reality. To most it was a powerful sacred gear that could boost their stats or grant them access to weak abilities. But Nero was a dreamer, an insane dreamer at that.

She did not care for what was possible nor what was impossible, she was the emperor! She did whatever she pleased, whenever she pleased, and however she pleased! It was this madness that allowed her to wield the power of the gods at will.

"Show your might my enemy!" Nero demanded cheerfully, the divinity surrounding her weapon condensing until it was a thin seeming film around her blade whose light rivaled that of the sun itself. Roaring in response the hundred thousand or so Project: 666 raised their heads.

Black, ink like flames danced in its mouth. Despite not resembling it as a chimera of Annihilation and Infinite the beasts did have access to draconic powers albeit on a limited scale. Annihilation gave them regeneration and the Infinite supplied them. They were invincible.

Yet what was an invincible foe to the Emperor of Roses was but yet another trophy waiting to be obtained. Lowering her blade without even bothering with the domain the divinity shot forth, spreading until it covered every inch of the upside down sky.

"Sing my blade!" Nero demanded as the divinity struck the earth, completely obliterating every inch of the chimera's flesh. Yet even when it was mere ashes its lifeforce forcefully pulled its cells together, its body repairing itself in a few seconds at best.

Luckily, they couldn't restore themselves fully. Billions of them formed but they all stood at less than a meter tall with power equal to a low class devil. Despite their overwhelming numbers, they were not a threat to anyone.

"You've done well. I'll take it from here." Speaking with an unusually warm voice Nero nearly didn't recognize her own King. Nodding regretfully she took a step by, watching her king very carefully as he raised a hand.

In an instant, space itself bent to his will and trapped the billions of chimera in a bubble of space itself. The world around it seemed to bend, reality itself bent and distorted as the chimeras were trapped and compressed into a small ping pong ball sized orb, a miniature reality if you will.

"Umu! You've gotten stronger my equal!" Nero praised her king sincerely, her eyes slightly wide at the astounding control he held. She had heard of his attempts to gain a dragon heart and while she expected impressive results she hardly expected them so quickly.

"You as well. You've surpassed your previous life, haven't you?" Damian returned her praise, the small smile on his face signifying his good mood. Nodding her head cheerfully Nero beamed at the praise from her King.

Leisurely turning around Damian smiled helplessly at the destruction born from the three Heavenly Dragons. He had freed Ddraig as his excitement was spoiling his good mood but it seems that had been a bad idea.

"Come. Let's stop them before they fight until they die." Damian replied with a quiet chortle, the two vanishing moments later.
