DxD | Child of Ira

Reincarnation was a treasured dream for many people and I had been lucky enough to receive it. I was granted a wonderful family, plenty of wealth, and the blessing of magic but everything came at a cost. In this case, it was the intrinsic danger of the world where gods roamed freely and myth was merely a forgotten truth. I had been reborn in Highschool DxD. **** If you enjoy my work you can support me on patre*on.com/TrapOverlord for up to 12 chapters ahead.

Chapter 50

Standing before a small group of teens Damian's empty golden eyes trailed over each of the students. He recognized a few of them, quite a few in fact, but most were unknown to him. It was only natural considering how low their natural energy level was.

"My name is Damian Thaumiel. It's nice to meet you all." He introduced himself blandly. A few years ago he may have been excited to stand here but things had changed. He wasn't the same hopelessly optimistic Damian from a few years ago.

It was interesting however that so many people he knew were in attendance. Naturally, Rias and Sona were there alongside their respective Queens however Sona was accompanied by a few familiar faces.

Light blue hair that reached just below his ears with a polite smile that withheld the calculated person within. Even now the teen was looking toward him with clear interest and wariness. Of course, that was nothing surprising to Damian.

'Your brother is smarter than you Marco.' Damian thought to himself blandly. The boy in front of him was Aguero Aciano, the younger brother of Damian's Knight. Marco was skilled in physical combat but he lacked when it came to magic, his brother on the other hand was the opposite.

Sitting at his side was a smaller boy with ghastly white hair and silver eyes. He was fairly short and his expression was as calm as a still lake as he read the book in his hands. It appeared that he was ignoring everything around him at first glance.

However, as a member of the ever observant Sona's peerage that was impossible. His eyes kept track of every movement in the room and kept tabs on Damian's every twitch. He was prepared to cut him down.

He was Vincent Edelweiss, a wraith turned sword master who acted as the rival of Kiba. He was a talented individual who would surely reach the level of Marco if given enough time. Naturally, Marco wouldn't make it easy.

"It's wonderful to have you. Please sit to the right of Rias. She's the one with red hair." The teacher explained tiredly before turning back to the papers in her hand. Sitting by the side of his betrothed he was directly between her and Sona, a clearly calculated move.

"It's nice to see you again Damian even if last time ended poorly. You won't do that again right?" Rias questioned him with an innocent smile that didn't come close to reaching her eyes. The rage and indignation held within her blue irises could not possibly be hidden.

"There's hardly a point if you can just break free." Damian retorted blandly. Damian hardly had the time to waste on useless endeavors, he had many goals to accomplish before he could finalize his clan's desire. In fact, attending this class was a waste so he wasn't truly there.

Physically he was present, it was the only way to completely avoid the contract backfiring on him, but he had left an amalgamation of his energy at his home to take care of things for him as he wasted his time.

"Welcome. I take it you've met these three?" Sona asked him, motioning with her to her Knight, Bishop, and Queen who sat on all of her sides bar where Damian sat. All three of them were fairly powerful, each well within the ultimate class, but there was a clear difference when it came to Vincent.

While they sat at the bottom of the rank he was well into the middle and perhaps even into the peak of the rank. Considering his age it was quite impressive. Excluding his own peerage and fellow heirs Damian had seen few people with such talent.

"I have. I didn't expect you to take them in so quickly, Sona." Damian lied blatantly. Tsubaki hadn't been a result of his influence, not much anyway, but Aguero and Vincent were. The former was obvious considering their relationship but Vincent was slightly less known.

Vincent had been roaming Orcus for quite some time before Damian had found him. He stole him from Hades', or Pluto considering the location, grasp and gave him a human form before releasing him in front of the vacation home Sona was living in at the time.

Sona's Knight hadn't been aware of the interaction as his consciousness was blurred by so long in the underworld but Damian's involvement was clear. Not only had he not tried to hide his traces but Vincent's body was initially formed from his energy.

"Hmm. Is that so." Sona replied with a scoff. It was such an obvious lie that her pride felt hit but she ignored it. Damian had clearly hand picked these two and given them to her even if neither of them would admit it.

"How's my stupid brother doing? Still out there chasing skirts?" Aguero asked him with an amused yet annoyed grin. Besides his moniker as a Spear Saint Marco was well known for his attraction to women. Apparently, so many rumors had spread about him that gods like Odin were impressed and asked for advice.

"Of course. He asked me to relay his disappointment that you haven't gotten a girlfriend and that he's willing to help you free of charge." Damian repeated what he had been told earlier this morning by a half naked Marco who was currently resting with company.

"Tell him I don't need it. Also, can you tell him to stop sending me porn magazines? It's embarrassing." Aguero requested solemnly with a sigh of exhaustion. Nodding his head Damian turned his head to Vincent who clearly wanted to ask him something.

"Will you spar with me? I want to see the clash between our souls." Vincent requested solemnly, an unusual amount of desire in his silver eyes. It was quite the odd question but Vincent was quite the odd person.

"I don't know how to use a sword." Damian replied blandly, unbothered by the sharp atmosphere emanating from Vincent. He had received plenty of duel requests in the past, the Lion King and White Dragon Emperor in particular were extremely persistent, so this was no surprise.

"That's fine. I merely wish to witness the soul of the strongest Devil of this generation." Vincent explained seriously. Wraiths in general, as beings formed from the soul alone, were very interested in the soul, and apparently, that applied to Damian as well.

"I'll find you later then." Damian agreed after hardly a moment of thought.
