1 Prologue

The sound of the clock ticking back and forth penetrated the room. Her heart beats a little faster with each tick. She stood in front of the mirror located near the door in her room, eyeing her figure.

She could feel the tears threatening to spill, but she refused to let the first tear drop. She refused to let them have that power over her. Not anymore. She was done crying, she was done questioning. It was now time for her to take control over her life.

She could remember their faces as she was lying on the ground in a fetal position, her hands on her head trying to protect herself from their upcoming attack. Her pleas for them to stop reign on the air as if mocking her, while the group of teenagers that were attacking her were laughing at how pathetic she looked.

They left her alone shortly after, leaving her alone, broken. She had to pick up the broken pieces as she stood up and walked towards her house. Had they ever stopped to think about her feelings?

The bruises and the wounds that were on her face glared mockingly at her from the mirror. She knew that with time, it would heal. But the wound in her heart will not.

The sound of the clock ticking penetrated the whole room. Her heart beats a little faster with each tick. It was like a ticking bomb, as if haunting her- counting down to her impending doom.
