[Bonus chapter]

"It's surprisingly quiet here."

The scene was dead silent. Not even wind could be heard. For Berut it was an unusual atmosphere; a sign of hidden danger.

"Uh um.. Isn't it good?"

"Not really. It is down there."

"What?"

"The monster."

"Do you have any idea about the monster?"

"Didn't you say you're here knowing about the monster?"

"I only know there's a monster here. Not that I know about it."

"You're really a dumb*ss.."

"How do we get there?"

"I can dive. No problem with me. I CAN breathe underwater."

"..."

"Hahahaha… Don't be upset. We can lure it to the surface."

"That's great. How?"

"Why do you want to fight it, anyway? You're not even from this realm."

"..."

'Where do I start? Berut isn't from here, either, right?' Janu wasn't sure how to answer that question. He didn't know anything about the toad. He inhaled deeply and tried to explain.

"We call it 'dungeon'. Special people can enter it, but ordinary people can't. We enter dungeons regularly. Because if we don't, the monsters will get stronger and it will be harder to kill them."

"But, still. From humans' perspective this power is beyond imagination. You seem to know a lot about humans."

"I only heard rumours. So, what if the monsters get stronger? Is it a problem?"

"Maybe. There weren't dungeons in the first place and suddenly it appeared out of nowhere. We just know that there are monsters inside. We obtained power, killed monsters and got more power."

"Isn't that ridiculous? Seems to me that humans are afraid of something that they don't know about. Or is it because of greed? Maybe."

"... "

'Did I not explain it correctly?'

"That's not the case. We just haven't found the answers to our questions. We need to explore more while preparing for the unexpected. We can't take risks that we can't face."

"Something created dungeons. And only they and they have the power to do that. But, what for? They have no reasons to interfere with humans."

"Who are they?"

"It's just a probability. Not that it's the truth. Just ignore it."

'Devas' blessings? Why would Devas create dungeons?'

It was something that Devas clearly could do but Berut didn't see any reasons for them to do it. At that point Berut didn't give any answers.

"Anyway, we can lure it."

"Yes, but how? You haven't explained anything."

"I'll be the bait."

"You? Will it work?"

"What's with that question? You're worrying about whether it will work or not? You don't care about my life at all."

Janu was speechless.

"Hahaha… Sorry.. sorry.. Ok, will you be okay?"

'What's wrong with this toad?'

"Hmmph.. Toad's flesh is the best. I'll dive. When the monster's notice me, I'll lure it here. Prepare to face it."

As it said that, Berut jumped into the pool of water and dived. The water splashed and waves rolled to all directions where Berut got into the water. Not long after, it jumped out of the water.

"Get ready!"

"What!?"

Janu quickly took out his Vajra.

'What's that? It looks like Vajra but it's much weaker.'

Berut was flabbergasted when it saw Janu's artefact.

The water rose as if something big was coming out of it.

Splash…

Two huge monster's pincers emerged from the water and soon its head and body became visible. It was a humanoid crab. It had a human's head with a crab's eyes and a pair of human hands and two pairs of crab legs under the pincers and stood on two human-like feet. On its back it had the body of a crab and it looked like a turtle shell in that way. All of its body was protected by an exoskeleton. Its greenish light brown colour might be because it had been underwater for a long time. It looked as if a human and a crab had merged into this creature.

As the monster emerged from the water, it chased Berut, who was running as bait. The crab used its pincer to try to catch it but it missed. It didn't notice Janu because his size was microscopic from the monster's point of view. It gave him a chance to strike.

[Vajra]

Boom…

'That's Vajra, alright. Is it weak because it's used by a human?''

Berut, who was doubtful, was sure that it was really Vajra.

A huge lightning struck the monster on its back. The exoskeleton protected it, but the attack left a mark. It definitely shocked the monster. It turned back and searched what ambushed it from behind.

'It's tough. How many Vajras does it need to kill it?'

The monster took a boulder and lifted it. It was annoyed by the attack and intended to use the boulder to flatten the vermin.

[Air Shot]

When the humanoid crab was about to crush Janu using the boulder, Berut used the chance to launch an attack. The air burst hit the crab from behind and caused it to lose balance and drop the rock. Janu moved away to create a distance and he quickly changed his weapon with a bow. When he got an ideal location to shoot, he stood straight and held his bow to aim. He pulled the string and released the arrow.

Ziiing…

The arrow flew towards the eye. The crab realised it and used its right pincer to block. The arrow was deflected by it and fell to the ground.

"Aim for its joints."

Berut gave a clue. It knew even though the crab had a hard shell, its joints were weak and vulnerable to attack.

"Make it busy and create an opening."

"Easy to say."

Berut used Air Shot once again and Yuyu Ijo was on the defensive stance with its pincers protecting its body. The air bullet hit it and dispersed causing strong wind in all directions.

"Tchh.."

'It's harder than I thought.'

Going up against two annoying opponents, Yuyu Ijo couldn't concentrate on attacks due to its huge body. It could be an easy target when it attacked one of them.

[Abyss Fog]

Dark cloud came out from the crab's mouth and it covered the whole area. The cloud made it almost impossible to see.

"RUN…!!!"

Berut knew how dangerous that skill was. The cloud contained neurotoxin that caused poisoning and paralysis. It would be fatal if they got caught in it.

'If it's poison, it shouldn't affect me. But, let's not underestimate it.'

Janu moved further from the crab and looked for a higher spot. He ran and jumped and he finally arrived on a stone platform high enough to have a clear shot.

"Uugh.. uugh.."

'What is it? I shouldn't be poisoned. I can't move.'

"Janu! The cloud can cause paralysis. Don't get caught in it."

'Too late. D*mn it.'

Berut inhaled deeply until its neck stretched like a balloon full of air.

Swoosh..

It spread the air to all directions to clear the cloud. The crab was already near Janu and it used its pincer to catch him.

'Aaargh..'

Yuyu Ijo held him in its pincer and moved him towards its mouth. It opened it and sharp teeth could be seen.

'Am I going to die this way? The worst way to die…'

Boom…

Berut used two Air Shots to shake the monster. It lost its grip on Janu and the hostage was dropped.

'Aargh.. D*mn hurt.'

The crab, ignoring its tiny meal, changed its target. Janu couldn't move so it thought of focusing on Berut.

[Quick Stride]

In a flash it arrived in front of Berut and was ready to strangle it using its pincers.

'Move.. Move.. D*mn..'

Janu was concentrating and exerted his full strength to release himself from the paralysis.

'MOVE…'

"Aaahh.."

He finally could move and stood. He aimed at the monster who was already in a contest of strength with Berut.

'Show me your head.'

As if Berut could hear what he was thinking, it moved a little and dragged its opponent to expose its head.

[Heart Attack]

Zhiing…

The arrow moved forward at the speed of light. Like a beam of light it shot towards the target.

Boom…

It was a headshot. Janu's strength, which was doubled thanks to his title, combined with the 350% attack effect from the bow and critical hit blew the head.

'Headshot!'

The monster activated its skill as its human head exploded. The crab part detached from the humanoid body, which had lost its head.

"Hurry up. It doesn't fight a losing battle. If it doesn't have the confidence to win, it will escape."

The crab ran to the water to escape, but Berut saw it coming, so it trapped it.

The crab was trapped inside the water bubble. It was struggling inside to escape but it was to no avail.

"Hit it hard in three.. two.."

Janu quickly took out Vajra.

Boom…

The bubble popped and lightning struck the crab. The second time Vajra hit, the crab couldn't take it.

Janu walked to the water and started to swim. About two hundred metres from the shore he dived.

The further he went down the lake the harder it was to determine directions. He needed to move to the center; the deepest part so the sense of direction was of absolute importance.

He took out Nava Dipala and concentrated. The needle moved in a circle and stopped, pointing to the right.

'I hope it doesn't break. It's not Bermuda, right?'

It was quiet down there and it took more than an hour to reach the destination. Although it was dark, something could be seen down there. A shining tiny object could be seen from afar.
