Chapter 53: Last battle (3)

Whoosh!

The hobgoblin jumped from the seven-meter-tall wall, but of course it did not jump directly to the ground. Instead, it jumped towards an elevator nearby.

Thud!

This elevator was the very same construct used by the goblins to get the bricks on top of the wall. The elevator was currently half-way drawn, letting the hobgoblins safely jump a distance of only a few meters towards the elevator.

But that was not the end, as it soon jumped over towards the right. At this time, the hobgoblin landed on the 1-meter-tall gear that is used to pull the rope pulling the elevator up.

Running on the large turn gear, the hobgoblin raised its axe as it neared the edge. The moment it reached the edge of the gear, the hobgoblin propelled itself into the sky with a jump.

Down below, a certain wolf was at that moment pressing down on a hobgoblin. The hobgoblin had the shield on its chest, but the mere weight of the wolf was crushing it down. As for the two sets of teeth coming to its face, the hobgoblin could only close its eyes and wait for the end.

But at that moment, the wolf sensed something not far from it, so it turned its head and saw a certain hobgoblin jumping off into the sky.

The wolf raised its head and faced the coming enemy. It opened its mouth and showed the bloody mouth that held its terrifying teeth.

But it seems that it was a mistake to do such a thing as...

The axe fell down with not only the force of the really strong hobgoblin but also the force of gravity at play. In the end, the two formed a power that forced right through the wolf's jaw and cleaved a large part of it off.

"Ewhhh!"

At that moment, a scene that was awfully similar to another that happened three weeks ago occurred once more. And weirdly enough, the ones who were the main characters of such a scene were the same ones from three weeks ago.

Feeling the familiar pain on its snout, the wolf howled in pain. It moved away from the two hobgoblins with blood splattering all over the place.

That very moment when the wolf was stunned would have been the perfect time to kill the wolf, but that was not what the hobgoblins were here for. So it left the wolf it didn't know it had a history with and thus ran over towards the large cylindrical object.

The object was more than three meters tall and likely had a three-meter diameter. Below this structure was a platform made of wood. The platform was a bit tall and had slightly thin wood columns.

The hobgoblin did not waste time and swung its axe right at one of the columns.

Bang!

Cratch!

Wood splinters flew into the air as the column was instantly torn to shreds. But the hobgoblin was not done, as it swiftly ran over towards the other column, doing the same thing.

Bang!

The column was destroyed. And as the platform had lost two of the columns supporting it, it, of course, started to tilt. And so it tilted slightly until it started falling.

Within the hole, the wolves had all properly piled themselves up. creating the stairs necessary for the wolf alpha to use them to escape from the hole.

But at that moment, as it was about to jump on the pile...

Bang!

Bang!

Two consecutive sounds of crashing sounded. What followed was the sound of what one could hear when wood slowly gets bent until it breaks.

The wolf alpha looked towards the sky and saw as the large cylindrical construct started falling.

Time seemed to move slowly for the alpha at that moment when it saw that suddenly at the top of the cylinder, or rather the large tank, gray-colored liquid started flying out from the top.

From just a single sight, the alpha was able to notice what that liquid exactly is.

Magical cement.

As it had been soaked once in the same liquid, it was able to recognize it almost instantly. And see the liquid slowly falling towards it, a trace of fear emerged in the wolf's alpha's eyes.

So without even wasting another second, the wolf alpha jumped on to the stack of wolves and climbed it until it was at the top. There, it crouched its legs and jumped.

Woosh!

The wolf alpha flew to the sky; its front paws reached the edge of the hole with only the hind ones remaining. But at that moment...

Splash!

The magical cement poured directly onto the wolf alpha and all who stood below it. The wolf alpha tried to hold on and maybe pull itself up, but its grip on the edge was already unstable. So when the heavy cement slammed on its body, the force it exerted proved too great for it to handle.

So in the end, the wolf alpha fell back into the hole. But this time, instead of just falling to the pit of the spike, it found itself covered in a pool of magical cement as well.

Getting up, the wolf alpha looked around in confusion. The gray liquid had covered a height of 1 meter within the hole. So the alpha now had magical cement reaching up to its chest.

Looking around, the hobgoblin saw the still-living wolves splashing out of the liquid. As for the dead ones, they resurfaced in the cement. Floating around while dead.

Feeling some cement in its eyes and ears, the alpha shook its head in an attempt to remove the gray cement. And it seems to have worked, as the alpha seemed to be able to see much better after the shake.

But it did not like what it saw.

Craaackrrr!

Not far from the first, a second tank fell slowly to the ground. Thus pouring all the contents it held down towards the hole. The very hole in which the wolves were

Splash!

All the cement poured in, bringing the already high cement level to a height of nearly two meters. With such a hight, the alpha suddenly felt its legs no longer coming in contact with the ground.

Not only that, but all the other wolves stuck out their heads and did their best doggy paddles. doing their best to keep afloat.

But it seems like that was not the end of it all, as from the left, something appeared.

It was a goblin.

In the goblin's hands was a simple-looking metal bucket. With the bucket, the goblin approached the hole. Once close enough, the goblin poured all the contents of the bucket into the hole. But unlike what the wolf alpha had thought, what came out was not magical cement; it was instead an unknown transparent liquid.

And once it came into contact with the magic cement, horror began to spread in the alpaha's eyes.
