Dungeon Master Online

in the future, the biggest gaming company Argus releases their newest game [Dungeon Master Online]. In this game rather than conquering dungeons players are tasked with making and defending a dungeon that is essentially their lifeline, without it death is permanent and they have to start over. Disclaimer: I do not own the image and the MC will get relatively powerful relatively fast. so if you don't like that leave before complaining, but I will take valid criticism of making my stat boosts too big. In that case, I won't hand one out for a few levels. also, suggestions, if made in the comments the day a chapter is written, won't be taken as I write all my chapters t once in chunks of five a week to be posted through the week, however, the last chapter in a chunk will take suggestions, also shorter pieces are made if I need community feedback sooner than expected and will lead into larger ones which will be five chapters long plus whatever is left of the last chunk.

Future Plans

In the real world, Michael is laying on his bed while his VR helmet deactivates. As that happens his arms reach up to take the helmet off.

Once off, Michael is staring off into the ceiling his face blank but his eyes full of energy as he makes plans for the future.

'I need to go to the nearby human settlement soon, I can't stay in my dungeon forever. I'll eventually need to level up, do quests, and gather materials to directly sacrifice to y dungeon. I can't rely on the generosity of greedy strangers forever.'

Michael then stood up and quickly stood up and walked over to the old desk quietly sitting in the corner of his room. He then opens up a drawer and inside is a neat stack of blank paper and a small pile of pens and pencils. After grabbing a piece of paper and pencil Michael starts writing down multiple notes.

"Now, I need an excuse… I can say I'm an immortal warrior from another world, but I have no clue if they will believe me. But I'll need some way to get an ID with zero identification. But how suspicious would I sound? What if they have criminal checking? If they do will it count me allowing my dungeon to kill as murder? What if they connect my appearance to the recent surge? The timing would have been almost perfect."

"Let's answer these questions one at a time, firstly if I just wait like an hour approximately four days will have passed. So I can spend more time planning and in turn, this issue will resolve itself as long as another surge doesn't happen, but that shouldn't happen, it seemed more like an opening day event for the players."

"Next criminal checking, I could say in the world I 'come from' was a barbaric kill or be killed environment, there were multiple instances where I, unfortunately, lived in had to take a life to survive."

"But that might raise more questions, if they ask why I had to survive when I was immortal, I could say that there I am mortal it's just that when I die here my soul temporarily returns to my original world and then I simply reproject myself. If they ask where I show up though, I can't just say my dungeon. Rather what about a secret space that I can't share?"

"Okay perfect next is the case of proving that I am technically immortal to them. I'll just kill myself and then show up a few days later and hope the same guards are on duty. Okay, my plan is set for getting into town, now what do I do once I get there? I can become an adventurer for easy cash and quests even if it's inefficient, I shouldn't bank on hidden quests and big shots taking a liking to my spunk or something. If anything I should focus more on quantity until my name is known before I even think about quality. Power gaming like that will be for the me who regresses in the future if that were to ever happen."

After this Michael stood up from his desk and walked over to the kitchen, after opening the fridge he took out a half-full jug of filtered water with the filter on top of said jug. Pouring himself a glass of water, Michael quickly downs the glass toi then pour himself another, then another, and another. After which he finally puts the jug back into the fridge and pulled out a few bags of ingredients and quickly got to cooking a meal for himself.

'Man, you don't truly know how hungry you are until you put the food on the stove.'

After a few minutes, Michael finished his meal and brought it to the living room so he could watch TV and eat at the same time. In doing so the same news broadcast was still going as only a few hours had passed, however now the topic was completely different talking about other smaller headlines, the original press conference long over.

After clicking through the various channels Michael found nothing much to watch, so he turned off the TV and opted for video streaming on his phone, when he opened MyTube however, the first thing he saw was of interest.

A video titled "Dungeon Master Online, opening day experiences."

After clicking on it Michael was met with a 30-minute video talking about a player and what he did. Firstly it showed that he picked an underwater dungeon and out of the races he could have chosen he went with the Atlantian, a race of people who are mostly aquatic but can live on land if need be. Their patience is that of an Elf, however, their skin has scales and there are gills on their neck and the gaps between their fingers have very noticeable webbing, while still having dexterous fingers, granted they can't hold things between individual digits like humans. A fact made obvious when the player tried to hold a small and thin piece of coral the same way you hold a pencil.

After a while, it was revealed that his dungeon was actually at the bottom of a lake but there wasn't any more information about the location as it could jeopardize his entire existence in this new world. However, during the surge, he managed to push out a few fish-type monsters into his lake which is big enough to be a small city in that on its own. But when his fish-type monsters escaped his dungeon, dispute the natural food chain that would have under normal circumstances instead they all worked together the guppies and the sharks would search and destroy while the eels and crabs would rampage through rocks and coral reefs to get out anything that the sharks couldn't. All in all, it was an ecological disaster. With every passing minute, the player would get thousands of DP as his forces spread out killing everything in their path, creating dead zones in the water where no life lived and none dared to go.

While the whole time the Atlantian was laughing in pure ecstasy, according to him gathering so much DP from outside of the dungeon, it instead went to him as a sort of medium to get to the dungeon and the feeling of all of the life energy passing through him felt better than every pleasure known to man, especially in the high amounts he was receiving.

By the time the video ended, Michael had already finished his meal but was more excited than ever to get stronger, that way he too could experience the feeling of massacring an entire envivroments.
