Dungeon Master Online

in the future, the biggest gaming company Argus releases their newest game [Dungeon Master Online]. In this game rather than conquering dungeons players are tasked with making and defending a dungeon that is essentially their lifeline, without it death is permanent and they have to start over. Disclaimer: I do not own the image and the MC will get relatively powerful relatively fast. so if you don't like that leave before complaining, but I will take valid criticism of making my stat boosts too big. In that case, I won't hand one out for a few levels. also, suggestions, if made in the comments the day a chapter is written, won't be taken as I write all my chapters t once in chunks of five a week to be posted through the week, however, the last chapter in a chunk will take suggestions, also shorter pieces are made if I need community feedback sooner than expected and will lead into larger ones which will be five chapters long plus whatever is left of the last chunk.

Fairy Forest

Meanwhile, not too far away at a different location there was a camp surrounding a massive tree. This tree was just like every other tree within the area except it was huge, and not only that but between its exposed roots was a staircase which led to an ornate door with a very natural design to it covered in flowers and depictions of various animals that had a sort of grace to them.

Then Eleena from the original expedition of [Smoke keep dungeon] "Everyone be on guard, the surge is ending soon and we haven't been keeping up. There is a high chance the dungeon is capable of surging."

Meanwhile inside of the dungeon, a girl was sitting on a makeshift throne made of stone right in front of her core room, she is about 1.5 meters tall with tall, blond hair that is sort of in the shape of a sharp afro (Think Rimiris fro Tensai slime, but full-sized). On her back were two sets of wings that were like a combination of butterfly and dragonfly wings. While her ears were long and sharp. She was wearing a black dress that only wrapped around her chest and didn't have any shoulder straps.

"System, tell me how many monsters were lost during that last raid."

[You lost 13 sprites (G-rank), 5 elementals (F-rank), and 1 Fae bee (F-rank). To replace them all it would normally cost 330 DP, however, due to your temporary buff [fairy fountain] all of your fairy monsters are currently 50%% off reducing your total to 140 DP.]

"Yikes, that is almost my current daily income minus kills and loot. If it weren't for this 1.5 times bonus I wouldn't be able to afford to keep replacing these guys, replace them all and put them in the same locations."

[Understand, your order is being processed.]

[-140 DP]

"Also I want to order a fairy spring water, I looked into it earlier and I can afford it."

[are you sure you would like to buy the item fairy spring water? This costs 200 DP]

"Yes, and give it to the current highest-level sprite around."

[underrstood, Level 4 sprite has consumed the fairy spring water and has leveled up to level 5, congratulations the sprite is ready to evolve.]

"I relinquish full evolutionary control to the sprite, as long as the sprite becomes a trap or defensive type."

[Congratulations, the sprite has evolved into a guard fairy (F rank), Guard fairy will now be added to the shop.]

"Nice, now order the guard fairy to gather up and train any sprites capable of keeping up, tell it I want a defensive unit ASAP."

[Understood, your orders are being conveyed.]

Over to her right, a screen showed a fairy no bigger than five inches tall wearing a uniform that resembled the get-up of a knight gathering and start training five other sprites which all seemed to be similar to the fairy just a bit smaller while being somewhat equally feral, all of them communicating with grunts and gestures to each other.

"Nice, now let's check out the outside a bit, ah it seems the attackers are resting up while everyone seems to be waiting for something from in here. Too bad for both of us I didn't manage to surge, but on the other hand I can take a quick break to do other things. System new orders for offline mode, replace all monsters 30 to 50 minutes after they are destroyed like always, but notify me if the group outside starts to move or if the surge ends."

[understood, offline mode settings updated, connecting to your smartphone to send alerts via text message for updates.]

Offline the same girl woke up from her bed, but instead of her spiky blonde afro she had long straight black hair, her ears were of normal shape and size and she was wearing sweatpants and a sweater. Getting up from her bed she did a few stretches before entering the hallway and making a beeline for the kitchen, once there she made herself a meal and sat down on the couch to watch the news but quickly got bored when she then started browsing on her phone, and through the magic of algorithms she was seeing tons of videos about her new favorite game.

A lot of it was info she learned on her own, but when she saw a few people talking about the death penalty she was intrigued as she had yet to die. According to some people, the penalty was all the XP you had collected between levels setting the bar to 0 but leaving you at the same level but the amount of DP needed to respawn was which couldn't be agreed upon some saying 100 while others said it was two or three hundred. Interestingly enough someone managed to die at level one and level ttwo and had surmiosed that the DP requirement for respawning was 100 for level onwe and 200 for level two likely meaning you had to pay one hundred times your level in DP which shouldn't be to bad since by the time the DP starts to hit in meaningful amoounts as long as your dungeon is keepin g up with your player character, you should generate enough DP daily to not have to worry about that, of course at higher levels this strategy becomes ipractical due to the DP cost slowly going up meaning you may need to farm higher level intruders at that point, but as stated before your dungeon is keeping up with your player character and so are the things on the inside with how deadly they are making hunting intruders easy.

After about 5 minutes however two alerts rang out one after another on her phone reading

[the surge is ending, return soon to claim everything you have earned.]

[The group you were monitoring has left the area near your dungeon.]

"That was crazy fast, what kind of time dilation does this game actually have? It's way bigger than a 1:2 ratio, I thought I'd be able to enjoy a full meal before anything happened. Well beggars can't be choosers plus I'm no super gamer I can afford a little bit of time away from the game, make sure it doesn't get to boring to fast."
