"Now, now. I just went out for a walk." He stroked Anmol's back gently as he whispered in Anmol's ear.

After hugging him for a moment longer, Anmol finally loosened her hold as she held Raghav's left arm and locked her arms with his.

Raghav shook his head but felt happy from his heart. He and Anmol were really inseparable and even he admitted that. He loved her companionship and her cute antics. Even now, he didn't feel annoyed by her holding his arms, instead, he felt strangely satisfied by her behaviour. After all, they both have been living together since their childhood.

They both walked towards the dining hall of the inn and quickly located the other two.

The inn was very expensive, but the quality of the services made it worth the price. As both of them walked towards Deepika and Radhika, the eyes of the various guests present were looking at the group.

The four of them were wearing the sect uniform. Raghav's uniform consisted of a white shirt and jet black pants with a Pisces mark on the left chest of the shirt. The fabric of the uniform could only be found on the higher floors of the dungeon. The fabric was very stretchable and was also weather resistant.

The three girls, on the other hand, had a different uniform. They were wearing a white full sleeves shirt with the Pisces mark on the same location alongside a pair of blue denims. Their whole body was covered from neck to toe because of a defensive outfit beneath the uniform.

It was not a problem for Raghav to inspect the uniforms worn by girls as he played pranks of plenty of them in the sect.

Raghav had the top two buttons of the shirt undone and had a roguish smile as he looked at the other two girls wearing those fitting denims. This time, their curves couldn't be hidden even if they wanted to. To others, it looked like Raghav was some kind of pervert while he was coming over to tease the beauties. But those who actually knew Raghav would see that he is a pervert that was going to tease the girls of his group.

"Is it already time for the trial of fire of the disciples from upbringing sect?"

"Eh? But I heard that the trial has already been cancelled this time around as most of the disciples entering the dungeon around this time of the year have been given a special assignment."

"Hmm, what do you mean?"

"Well, the disciples from Violet Wings have already started to spread the information."

The guests that could book rooms from this inn are from the influential organisation of Earth. This also allowed them to have a lot more information about the various things going on Earth.

The surrounding guests were murmuring among themselves. Even though they were whispering, the group could easily hear their discussions.

Deepika had a calm face while Raghav and Anmol were busy eating their meal. Radhika, on the other hand, was thinking of something.

"Is it possible that we will have to deal with Violet Wings during the assignment?"

"Hmm, of course. It would be quite suspicious if it was the other way around." Deepika replied.

"Yeah. The Violet Wings already have a personal grudge against us. Their views on Cultivation are also opposite to ours. If I had to put it simply, both of our sects could be considered a mortal enemy to each other." Raghav spoke as he chewed on his parantha.

(Parantha is a staple breakfast for most of the north Indians, especially Punjab. It could be said to be the daily bread of North Indian)

Even Anmol nodded her head.

"Then why would the Violet Wings spread the news. Even they would be given the same assignment as us." Radhika asked with a frown.

The act of the spreading of information meant that there will be countless eyes staring at every disciple from the top seven sects of Earth. Even though the world knew about their differences with the Violet Wings, many of the battles only took place without the knowledge of the public.

"It is precisely because of the fact that we all have been given the same assignment with the same amount of time period. Since we could be given a place for entering the Treasure Pocket, this means that the event will become worldwide sooner or later. The act of spreading of information is to deliberately target us. It is a challenge from those Violet bitches."

Deepika swore as realization dawned on Radhika's face.

"But this time, we will have to battle them in front of the public by way of reaching a higher floor and also fight them in shadows." Raghav concluded the main point of the discussion.

"Alright, I already have a monster nest in my mind. It is a relatively new one."

Raghav took out an 8 inches tab from his storage ring and placed it on the table. He opened a document containing the map of the first floor and selected an editing tool provided by the tab itself.

"I met a venom ant around this location and their nest is sure to be nearby." Raghav marked a region on the map.

"Hmm, if it really is an undiscovered nest, we may have an opportunity to slay a mutant monster. If we are lucky, we can find some more mutants in the nest itself." Radhika spoke with shining eyes and even Deepika had slight excitement in her eyes.

Four people- one boy and three girls could be seen passing through the forest at a high speed.

"Wait! I sense something."

Raghav quickly stopped everyone as he looked around him.

Rustle

A green shadow pounced towards Anmol from a branch of a tree near her.

"Pressure"

Her faint voice was heard by the rest of the group as the green shadow stopped and its figure was revealed in front of everyone.

Snake!

"A Wood Snake. It is a good chance to try and practice our abilities on it." Deepika commented.

Anmol nodded as she looked at the snake and immediately it crashed on the ground.

The wood snake had a pair of thin wings growing from its back which could not be seen if not carefully observed. Its green body was currently struggling on the ground as if a huge rock had been placed on its body.

"Alright, I will go first since mine is the most straightforward."

Radhika walked up and the temperature around her started dropping at a continuous pace. A soft blue glow could be seen flashing from her hands as spikes of ice formed in the air.

"Hmm, it's only a D-Rank ability so it still lacks in the control department." Radhika observed the coarse spikes created by her ability.

One of the spikes flew and pierced the tail of the snake.

Ssshhhhh

The better part of its 90 cm body was frozen.

"The potency is also a bit lacking." But Radhika wasn't disheartened as she had a good chance of evolving her ability to at least B-Rank with the comprehension of her Cultivation.

"I already know the limitations of my Ability. I have to make eye contact with the person to make out their thoughts. That is why the snake could ambush us and I didn't have any clue." Deepika also reasoned her Ability.

"Creates a mental burden if I pressure a large area but a single snake is fine." Anmol spoke faintly and evaluated her Ability precisely.

"Hmm, my turn then."

Raghav's hands shined as his hand pierced the head of the snake. He immediately heard the notification from the dungeon.

He waited for a little while and then shook his head.

"My ability did not work on the snake." Raghav spoke out.

Deepika and the others frowned a little.

"Your Ability lets you take over a spirit and control it right. Like a slave contract." Deepika asked once again.

"Yeah. It allows me to control a maximum of four spirits. These spirits will retain their former power before dying. Well, at least allow the spirits to retain the power that is under the control of my ability." Raghav didn't tell them his core Ability and it was the same for most of them except Radhika.

It was obvious that one should keep their trump cards a secret even from their friends and families even if you trust them with your life.

The world is filled with strange abilities and some top-secret information can be leaked even if the opposing party is not willing to betray his side.

"Hmm, maybe the spirit of weaker monster doesn't work." Radhika put her finger on her lips and speculated various possibilities.

"No, I don't think it is based on the strength of monsters. There is something more to the information." Deepika also spoke her thoughts.

Even Raghav felt confused. According to the information on his ability given by the dungeon, he should be able to control four spirits. But he couldn't even see them. The same thing happened with the Venom Ant that was chasing the Blue-cored Slime.

"What you are thinking about is the soul. While the description of the ability speaks of spirit." Anmol was the one who pointed out. Since they were already taking a break, she had already locked her arms with Raghav and attached herself to his left side.

"What do you mean?" Raghav felt even more confused.

"In the sect library, one of the books spoke of the relation between spirit and soul. This theory was originally stated in the Bible and later researched by many cultivators. While we all have a soul that becomes the foundation of our life, the spirit present inside the body is usually in a state of hibernation. It was also theorised that the spiritual root isn't awakened by just having good potential, the human body should also be able to stir up the spirit present inside its body."

This was one of the times where Anmol could show off her eidetic memory.

"That means that only the monsters that have awakened their spirits and have potential to become demonic beasts may leave their spirits while they die."

Raghav sighed bitterly.

That would mean that he may not be able to get any spirits under his command anytime soon.

"Wait. Why would the spirit remain while the soul doesn't?" Radhika asked a doubt that was in both Deepika's and Raghav's mind.

Anmol shook her head. Evidently, even she didn't know the answer to this question.

"Well, let's not waste too much time. We only have two days for this floor. After two days, we will ascend even if our levels are lower than our goal."

Deepika was the oldest one of them by almost three months and the group had decided to let her become the group leader. In the beginning, the three girls voted for Raghav to become the leader but he couldn't help but make a cheesy comment about another sect disciple practising in that area. This move even made Anmol change her mind and she voted for Deepika too.

The three of them nodded as the shuttled through the forest once again.
