13 Chapter 13 Let's Chat
Along the way, after Lief was no longer distracted by friendly demon wolves and human pyromaniacs trying to burn down his home, he noticed that his system had been upgraded and a new feature had been added.

His eyes lit up (metaphorically, since his eyes were already red spheres of light) upon seeing the new feature and he sat down, leaning against the nearest living tree. He quickly opened the chatroom.

Lief thought for a moment, then entered his username as Lief.

—Nagisa: A newcomer? Welcome!
—Midas: hi (◠‿・)—☆
—Ming: Hello.
—Colton: Welcome newbie. I'm Colton, but everyone just calls me Colt. I'm one of the chatroom mods. If you have any questions, you can ask me.
—Lief: Hello. I do have a question I want to ask. Do you know a pair of twins named Cain and Asher are in this chatroom? When I got brought to this world, I'm pretty sure they came with me, but we didn't appear in the same place.
—Colton: @Phill might know. He's also a chatroom mod and he's been keeping track of everyone.
—Nagisa: I don't think there are any twins here, unless they've just been lurking this whole time. But if they arrived at the same time as you, their systems might not be a high enough level to chat yet. It took me a good while to level up my system, despite being probably one of the first people to get to this new world!
—Phill: @Lief Well unless they've been pretending to not be twins, they are not yet in this chatroom. In fact, it's rare to see siblings getting brought here. Most of us were either only children or young adults who've moved out and away from the rest of the family.
—Lief: Oh, I see. Well, thanks anyways.
Lief was a little bit disappointed that he couldn't chat with his friends yet, but he was happy that he'd now have people to talk to when he got bored. Although he could always chat with Silvester and Kroh, it just wasn't the same as talking to normal humans. Well, possibly ex-humans if any of the others were in a situation like his.
He decided to ask his more experienced seniors.
—Lief: Did any of you become a non-human when you got to this world? I got turned into a weird wendigo-looking creature, but strangely enough, I didn't freak out too much about it. Also, my system seemed to think I'm some sort of dryad, and now I'm the guardian of a forest. The system upgrades by earning exp for every tree in my forest.
—Phill: A wendigo? The creature that supposedly came from humans eating human flesh? How interesting.
—Nagisa: I also transformed! I changed into a sentient body of water and basically couldn't go anywhere on land without starting to evaporate! It was really weird at first, but now I've unlocked a skill that let me manifest a physical somewhat humanoid form so I feel less weird!
—Phill: I believe what we turned into has something to do with our lives in the previous world, just like how our systems are apparently made to match us. For example, I was an author back then, and my system is based around a library. I get experience for each new book I collect, as well as for every book I lend out to others.
—Nagisa: I was studying, nothing in particular yet though I was interested in marine biology! My system doesn't have exp for me to earn, but I get new skills for completing missions like protecting certain sea creatures or helping ships that are about to be destroyed by a storm! That's why it took me so long to unlock the chatroom!
—Midas: got gold from dad in old wrld, here turnd to drgn, now system gold=pwr ✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧
—Colton: Midas is actually now a wyvern, though they can temporarily take a human form, which is why they don't usually type out full sentences and use a lot of kaomoji. Their claw wings are very hard to use when typing. Anyways, I used to be a religious leader.
—Midas: a cult leader (~‾▿‾)~
—Colton: It's not a cult! Will you understand if better I communicate like you? (╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻

—Colton: Well, my system in this world is now related to reviving my religion. I earn exp points for every believer who converts.
—Ming: I was an illusionist and street performer. My system levels up by me deceiving people with illusions from system skills.
—Midas: nywys Nagi the boat I got u is dun, when and where to brng it to u?
—Nagisa: It's ready? I'm living at Clearwater River, at the junction where it meets the Ocean of Tears. You can come over whenever! I've unlocked the guardian skill, so I can leave at any time, as long as I come back occasionally to check on things!
—Midas: (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*.✧
—Nagisa: @everyone My plan is to take Midas and whoever wants to comes along on an adventure around the world, visiting everyone who can't travel currently! If you know where you're at, I can add your location to the itinerary! And if you don't know, just give a description and Phill might be able to find it! Phill is really smart!
—Phill: My library is in a city called Sunvale. It's a short distance to the direct east of a port city called Siren's Town.
—Colton: My group usually just wanders from place to place, but we are heading to a town called Dyri to temporarily settle down. I can join your adventure if you come pick me up, I'll just leave the group to my second in command.
—Ming: I'd also like to join. I'm near Ferrick's Port.
—Lief: I can't leave my forest yet, but I'm at a place called the dead forest, if you want to visit?
—Phill: The dead forest? The only place I can think of is the large expanse of withered woods near Ganyme.
—Nagisa: Okay, I've written everything down! @ me if anyone else who's been offline wants to join in as well! Me and Midas will probably be setting off sometime this week!
