Lucas Arrival

The castle was busy due to Lucas' appearance. Alixandre could hear the heavy scrubbing and cleaning going in his hallway.

' I'm not sure if I can keep my cool with that guy around, but I need to hold out until he leaves.

He put on all-black attire and headed to the dining room where the rest of the family was located.

" Good morning Alixandre," Scarlett said with a grin. " I see that you and Sophia got to know each other a little better. I've never seen her cheeks so flushed."

Alixandre's gaze fell upon Sophia who turned the other way to hide her shame.

" I'm happy Sophia finally got some. This crazy lady needs some relief."Steffon said.

He felt bloodlust beside him and saw Sophia's piercing gaze.

Alixandre ignored the scene and took his seat beside the quiet Amara. He put his hand on top of her shaking palms and looked into her eyes.

He whispered, " Stay beside me until he leaves. Whenever you feel scared, look at me beside you. Look at the man willing to die for your honor."

Alixandre felt a new presence entering the castle. It was stronger than his but weaker than Amara's.

" Hello, Aunt Scarlett and Uncle Steffon!"

" Lucas!" Steffon shot up out of his seat and hugged Lucas, who stared at the boy beside Amara.

Alixandre could feel anger chest. His breathing became harsh and grabbed Amara's hand tightly.

" Calm down Alixandre," Amara whispered.

He closed his eyes and tried to control his breathing, but the sound of Lucas' voice made him angry. A tiny bit of bloodlust escaped and every pair of eyes in the room fell upon him.

Scarlett smirked. " You really hate every man in this family don't you?"

" All the men in your family are dicks," he mumbled.

" What was that?" Lucas said.

Alixandre stood up. The height difference was noticeable as Alixandre towered over Lucas. He pointed his finger at Lucas with an outstretched arm. " I said. You... are... a... dick!"

Lucas chuckled. " You think that because you survived Amara's onslaught, you can take me?" Lucas looked at Alixandre with a smirk. " I can sense divinity in you, even with that ring on. " What family are you from and why do you have such hostility towards me?"

Sophia and Amara looked at Alixandre. They didn't want him to slip up due to his anger and expose secrets. Amara tugged his shirt and Alixandre sat down, ignoring the question Lucas asked.

Lucas walked toward Alixandre but was stooped by Sophia.

" Your seat is over here Sir Lucas." She gestured to the opposite side of Amara and Alixandre.

The castle brought out the most exquisite food Alixandre had ever seen. Rare spices and sauces drizzled over medium-rare meat. Alixandre looked at Lucas across from him. ' He must be important. Too bad I'm going to kill him.'

Lucas noticed his gaze and returned it.

" You never told me what family you come from."

" Lockwood," Alixandre said. His gaze never left his food.

Lucas' face contorted slightly but he maintained his appearance.

" Lockwoods huh? I've tried to court your sister Veronica, but she turned me down harshly every time. That bitch."

Alixandre's bloodlust filled the entire room instantly. Since Astus's awakening, Astus' bloodlust mixed with Alixandre's, making feel truly horrifying.

Lucas felt the hair on his neck stand. He was stronger than Alixandre, but he could feel that something was off. He looked down at his slightly shaking hand.

" That's enough for you two." Scarlett released some of her aura toward Alixandre to calm him down. Scarlett side-eyed Sophia, confused.

" You weren't going to stop them, Sophia?

Sophia bowed sincerely. "Sorry Miss Scarlett."

Scarlett laughed. " Has his penis changed you this much already?"

Sophia's face turned bright red.

" And you, go cool off Alixandre."

" I refuse."

Everyone in the room stopped what they were doing and stared at the scene about to unfold.

" What did you say?"

" I said I refuse. I'm not leaving Amara's side until he leaves." Alixandre's eyes fell upon Lucas.

Scarlett looked at Sophia again, expecting her to step in.

" Alixandre, I suggest you follow my orders or I will order Sophia to torcher you."

" She can't torcher me. In fact, she can't do anything to harm me."

Everyone looked at him confused. What had he done to Sophia?

" Sophia, attack him. Now!"

As soon as she moved, she felt something inside her. Something telling her not to move and not to harm him. Her body froze in place. Her eyes staring into Alixandre's purple iris.

" Don't worry Sophia, I didn't do it on purpose, but I did feel something after our time together this morning. I also feel the same with Lynx and Elana. It's probably some inherent incubus power. I promise not to abuse it."

The dining room was silent with everyone's eyes on the weakest person in the room.

" So you can control the women you have sex with," Scarlett said. Her voice carried a hint of threat.

" I'm sure it's not that powerful. The women who have a deep affection for me can't harm me. But that feels like the surface level of the power. I had sex with Sylvia and I don't feel any connection with her, so it's not every woman. Only those who fall for me."

" You whore yourself out and think you're good enough for Amara?" Lucas said.

" Do you think you're good enough you pervert?

Sophia and Amara's eyes widen.

" Lucas' bloodlust erupted. Alixandre tried his best to match it but he couldn't draw any more of Astus's power in his current state. He released his bloodlust and looked at the slightly shaking Amara.

" Come on, Amara. Let's go on another date."

A small smile graced Amara's face as she stood up from the table.

" I'm sure Amara wants to catch up with her favorite cousin before he leaves for battle right?"

Alixandre looked down on Lucas. Nothing but anger in his eyes.

" She doesn't," Alixandre said firmly

Alixandre and Amara left the dining room and Scarlett stared daggers at Lucas.

" Did you do something to my daughter Lucas?"

" Of course not. I would never harm Amara. I just don't think that mutt deserves her."

Scarlett sipped her wine. She felt Sophia's heart beat irregularly at the question.

' He did something and they didn't want to tell me. I'll find out on my own.'
