Chapter 4: Buying Books

It was nearing sunset when Long Rui and Tang San were done hunting rabbits, they went their separate ways and went home. After Long Rui arrived home he cooked spicy rabbit head for old Jack and roasted the rest.

After eating and washing the plates Long Rui went to his room and went to bed late because of the excitement of going to the city tomorrow. He woke up with black circles under his eyes showing how excited he was to finally go outside of the village.

He hurriedly washed his face and ate breakfast the he cooked. Then took a bath and dressed up then went out of the house to the gate of the village where Old Jack and the rest of the villagers were preparing to set out.

"There you are you brat I thought you won't be waking up to catch up. Now that you're here just sit in the front."

Long Rui followed him as he sat beside him and waited till they set off for Nuoding city. They set off before sunrise and arrive at nuoding city in the afternoon. The villagers headed for the market place where they set up a stall and sell their crops.

As they were selling things, Long Rui wandered around the marketplace looking at every stall. He bought some ingredients that will provide him with nutrients and delicious food.

As Long Rui strolled around he came across a stall selling books about basic knowledge about Douluo Continent. He asked the stall owner the price and bought it at the price of three silver soul coins.

Long Rui packed the books and headed to the stall of the villagers and he noticed that they are still selling things so he picked up one book that introduced the Major powers in the Douluo continent.

Time passed as he was about a quarter into the book someone tapped his shoulder and he jumped up in fright as he was too focused on reading the book. He looked at the one that tapped and realized that it was Old Jack.

"Stop reading it's time to leave and go back to the village."

Long Rui then packed the things that he bought while thinking.

'This trip to Nuoding city is not bad I was able to get food that has lots of nutrients and purchased books about the Douluo Continent.'

'Now we can read books with Tang San and be his introducer to the world. I hope that I will be able to get a hefty sum of rewards after this one.'

The carriage soon went back to Holy spirit village as the sun was about to set. Long Rui ate dinner with Old jack and went to bed waiting for tomorrow to tell Tang San about the books.

<The Next day>

After eating breakfast Long Rui went out of the house and went to Tang San's house and waited. Soon enough a small silhouette strode from the small hill and walked towards Long Rui.

As he neared Long Rui, Tang San waved his arms and shout" Long Rui why are you here?"

"Haven't you always wanted to know more about the world outside the village? I've bought books from Nuoding City that tells about the world outside."

Tang San's eyes lit up as he spoke in surprise " You've bought books from outside Can I borrow them to read?"

"As my good brother of course I will lend them to you, we can even read them now if you want"

"Ok my good brother, wait for me at your home and I'll go after I finish eating food."

After they were done talking, Tang San walked into his house and hurriedly prepared breakfast while Long Rui returned to his home and started reading the books he bought from Nuoding City.

He continued to read the book that introduced the major factions in the Douluo Continent.

The Douluo Continent has 2 Empires that being Heaven Dou empire and Star Luo Empire.

Then there is Spirit hall which absorbed as many as 80% of the civilian spirit masters making it have the combat power equal to the two empires.

After that, we have the 3 upper sects.

The best auxiliary spirit master and the richest sect on the continent, Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda.

Then we have the strongest beast type martial spirit on the continent, Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon.

And lastly, we have the strongest tool spirit on the continent, Clear Sky Hammer.

The last on the rankings of factions are the four lower sects.

White Tiger Clan ranked first among the four lower sects that are the emperors of the Star Luo empire.

Ranking second on the list is the Fire Leopard Sect which is not mentioned much in the story.

Ranking third on the list is known as the strongest defensive sect Elephant Armored Clan.

Ranking last is the Wind Sword Sect which is also not mentioned much in the story.

Long Rui was about done reading the book when a knock sounded and a voice shouted from outside.
