30 Dr Joseph past with Demar

Demar had a lot of questions, but they weren't able to be answered as Doctor Lin had cut him off, then left.

He looks down at the bag Doctor Lin gave him, smiles and said in his heart, "Thank you Zora's dad."

He took up the bag and headed inside to find Dr Joseph.

"Dr Joseph?" Demar calls as he knocks on Dr Joseph's office door.

As the door was open, a dark complexion man greeted him, three inches taller than him, with his curly hair let down and reaching his waist.

"Honestly, I sometimes forget how tall you are," Demar said as he stands before Dr Joseph and looked up at him.

Dr Joseph gave off a small smile before asking what was in Demar's hand.

"I thought you would be heading home," Dr Joseph spoke as he was commenting on the bag in Demar's hand.

Demar explain to Dr Joseph why he had the bag with him then after explaining Dr Joseph took the bag Doctor Lin had given Demar and headed straight to Zora's room to begin saving her life.

He tested the blood as he did before with Mr Brooks' blood and no doubt it was a match.

Dr Joseph was curious who's Zora's real father was and if her real father exist, why have her suffering or is it that he selfishly sold his daughter to Mr Brooks?

Well, he didn't have the answer and didn't think he should dig deep in that matter.

His job was to save Zora not to find out her background, but another question came to his mind that has been there for a while now.

"Why does Demar love this girl so much, after just sleeping with her once?"

It was an interesting question, but some better day he will ask Demar why.

"Enough of these questions. I have got to get to work," he said as he pulled his stool, catch his hair into a ponytail, then sat down and begin his work.

As he sat, extracting the toxic drugs from Zora, his glasses were slowly coming down.

He uses his wrist to push his glasses up because he was busy using his hands to work on Zora for over 2 hours.

He was being careful and gentle, just as how Demar was with females.

The men's that works for Demar, all were very gentle with females and they had to be or Demar would have punished them.

Even though Demar trusted and would never treat his men harshly, he had rules which they all had to follow, and not hurting a female was the number one rule.

But there was an exception for Dr Joseph. He was always a manly, caring and cheerful man.

That's why all of Demar's men feared him. That manly side of him, plus his height, would scare them.

What he said and how he said it was always to be done. He was almost like the second leader of the Black Dragon; Demar's mafia crew.

As I said before, Demar had helped all his men when they were in their dark times. That's how they started working for him.

And Dr Joseph was one of those men.

Because of Dr Joseph's height, trouble always came to him.

He didn't mind the fights he had to do to stay alive, but he mind that because of his height, he couldn't have a peaceful life.

He was a smart man and still is, and he managed to open his hospital in a city where life was hard.

But that didn't last long because a gang had burned it down to the ground—nothing had left of it.

He was angry and wanted to beat the person to death who had done it.

But before he could, Demar heard the news about a hospital being burned down by some gang.

And when he heard the reason they had, it angered him.

He found the leader of the gang, killed him and threatened the other members that if he ever heard any of them doing anything bad, he would come and find them and kill them.

When Dr Joseph heard what Demar had done, he went to thank Demar.

"Thank you for what you did."

"Don't mention it. I did what I felt was right."

Before Demar had never seen Dr Joseph again, he told him to move to Night Love city, that way he can have a peaceful life and save lives because here in Night Dark city, it wasn't a nice place to live in.

And from that day, Demar never lost contact with Dr Joseph and when Demar needed his help, he was always ready to offer it.

"I am finished with extracting the toxic drugs and replacing her blood. Now you shall live to see the man who saved you," Dr Joseph said as he took off his gloves, then went to wash his hands and clean his glasses.

After doing so, he exits Zora's room and heads back to his office.

When he opened the door, he was shocked to see that Demar hadn't gone home and was sleeping on his couch.

Seeing that made a genuine smile form upon his face.

He knew what had happened back at Demar's mansion and knew how Demar must have been feeling.

He look at his watch, which was saying three in the morning, grabbed his bag after writing on a note and leaving it for Demar, then left his office, exited the entrance of the hospital, headed to his car and drove home.

Morning at Dr Joseph's private hospital. . .

When Demar was finally awake, he looks at the clock on his right on a small, rectangular, glass table.

"5:30. . . ."

Seeing that he sat up on the couch, look around before getting up to drink some water Dr Joseph had in his office.

As he stood where the water was, he saw the note Dr Joseph had left.

'Hey, I know that you like having some water in the morning, why I had left the note here and I know you must be wondering what time is it. Not to worry, it's about 5:39.'

Reading that part of the note, Demar turn and look at the clock, which was showing the same time.

Demar chuckled before continue reading the note.

'See, I was right, and I also made you had your first laugh of the day. You probably realize I am not at the hospital right now. That's because I'm home. I will be there at 7 and I don't want to see you there. Go home and rest, you probably smell. . .'

Demar smell himself and said, "You are right."

'Still don't get how you were going to kill someone in your nightwear. Anyway, go home and shower. Zora is fine now. You can come back to the hospital at 10. Bye now (•‿•)'

After reading the note, Demar finished drinking his water, cleaned up Dr Joseph's office, then went and look at Zora.
