An explanation Into Man's thought process

Man has been trapped in the void for an inestimable amount of time, Alone in an isolation for hundreds of trillions of years, The only thing to keep him entertained were his memories however over time he gradually forgot more and more details.

Would you believe someone trapping you for an incredible long time for no reason?

And if you had a practically indefinite amount of time to ponder over the issue, Wouldn't your conclusion be that you are being punished for some horrible crime you committed?

Plus Man didn't grow up, If it isn't obvious from the first chapter Man died very young with little to no memories due to his condition forcing him to be bedridden.

In fact he remembers his past life at the age he died in it.

Anyway he figures he has to make up for that terrible sin in his past life, So when the system gives him a quest to help people in chapter two he thinks that's what he has to do to make up for it.
