Previous chapter:

"Don't you have-" She was cut off when an enormous fiery explosion went off just infront of us, making us flew away from the ground as she hit on the tree, yelping with the pain.

When we looked up to see a huge red creature, gazing us with the sight of its mouth opening wideningly and its long sharp teeth hissing at us as if its our fault for intruding of its territory.

We both looked eachother and screamed.

◾Evelrya's POV◾

My head was throbbing in pain when I was hit on the ground. I saw the thief crawled near at me, clunching her arm in pain.

It let out a deadly roar again, piercing, deafening our poor ears.

Surprisingly, we both hugged together with all our might, cowering in fear, trembling and shaking.

"I think this is the end of the game!" she laughed heartily, but I still can hear quivering on her voice.

'Oh this quest will be easy. Once you get the stone back you'll be safe.' he said. Ugh stupid lousy Lvi.' I thought.

"Ugh, this isn't fair.." glaring at the creature, cowering above us with it wings outstretched and head held high, was a massive dragon. It's scales bleamed so brighty, fiery red with its deadly claws shining menacingly it approached.

The dragon have been like twice the height of the horse and thrice its length, I could tell we'll got smashed and burned into ashes, facing to our doom once we move closer to it.

It began sniffing the air, searching for our presence.

"Hey, I know this is late but my name is Runette. Nice to meet you"

I snorted.

"Hey, I was trying to be nice!" she pouted.

I ignored her and gazed to the dragon moving only few steps closer from us, facing to our grave.

I guess we'll have to fight.

I slowly pull out my sword from my belt as I looked up to her but she nodded me back in return as if she knew what I was thinking.

The dragon bellowed a battle cry, a roar that shook the earth to its core. And lastly, I took a last glance for my fellow thief, and said.

"By the way, my name is Evelrya. Well, I guess we'll have to fight out of this. Now, are you ready?"

"Born ready, I'm not going down without a fight!" she drawed out her knives, spinning between her fingertips in each hand, the thief readied herself.

I guess I don't have to worry her.

We ran forward and let out a battle cry.

~*•*•*•*~

I stucked out my sword, charging forward, gripping it with its hold and launch for my first move.

"Hey filthy beast, over here!"

Runette shouted, taking out one of her knives and throwed it on the dragon's snout, making my eyebrows raise on her as she signally mouthed, 'Get on his back.'

Alright, you can do this!

I kicked my feet onto the ground and flipped myself in the air towards the back of the dragon as my other hand gripping with its scales to avoid falling while the other was holding the sword.

Someone gasped on my left and I knew it was Runette, makes the dragon turned its head, facing her, as if it's ready to pounce at her and worst, get killed.

I'm sorry but I have to do this..

I mentally apologized the beast and saved the thief ass before it'll kill her.

As the dragon got distracted, I take my opportunity and slashed my sword, sticking it into its scales, and deepening it, making the dragon roared in pain as the blood lashed out on its skin.

Swishing its head into sides, back and forth, trying to remove me off from his back as I was clinching hard, gripping it with my whole life.

I heard a familiar yelp that came from Runette as I watched her when she was thrown back by the dragon's tail, and hitting her head to the ground hardly, makes her fall unconscious.

I could feel myself, slowly slipping out from the dragon, as it spread its wings for the last time, and lost my balance.

Now it's my turn that got thrown back on the air as my back hit harshly to the ground, knocking the air out on my lungs as the black spots starting to appear my vision, clouding it. I keep myself to maintain awake as I see myself now laying on the ground.

I could feel my fear rising through my skin as my heart beats, strumming so loudly on my chest.

I crawled backwards when the

dragon faced at me, stepping forward, snapping its vicious jaws and ready to plunged me into a half with one snap.

Somehow, I find myself scream for the last time.

Something caught my attention, the pouch was laying beside me. I think it fell when I was thrown away. I tried to reached it before the dragon clunged it claws on me.

I reach out the pouch hesitantly, it was glowing for some reason and held it on my palms, bringing out the stone from it.

It was glowing so brightly.

I covered it softly with my palms, and prayed that it would save me for just once. Disappointed flooded through me. I had been so close to complete my request, so close to begin a new chapter in life, befriending new people in this world, exploring new adventures that I had been dream to be. But here I was, about to be eaten by a fiery red dragon the colour of Flaming Sun, spreading its enormous wings flaring proudly.

It claws caught my arm as its sharp long nails impaled my skin, deepening it as I whimpered in pain.

There was no running now, no turning back, I wasn't an expert about controlling magic nor I was born to it even I wish to but in reality, it was never been existed.

Just as I closed my eyes, and accept my tragic, pointless death that it was over, and the end of my game.

Surprisingly, a voice interrupt my thoughts, begging me to say this words as I repeated them in chorus,

"Incentasi Arachortus.."

I repeated the unfamiliar words that rolled off on my tongue. I don't even know what this words mean or where it came from but it's just slipped through my mind.

A different ear-shattering roar pierced the air as a blurr of glimmering wild, scarlet rush of waves and slammed into the dragon infront of me that brought me free with its grasp with a resounding boom.

And here I was, I thought I'm going to be a dead meat.

I pulled myself up from the ground as I laid my eyes on the both dragons fight, something realm shattering, indescribably powerful, undeniably breathtaking. The black blur, that it was taking a form of a black slender dragon, my savior which was definitely strange, incredibly eccentric as the ground trembled, shuddered beneath my boots.

The moment I laid my eyes on the shimmering black dragon. It was here, and came to save me. But why?

Confusion flooded on my thoughts.

I almost shrieked when the scarlet dragon plunged the black dragon with its deadly jaws on its neck and thrown almost a few inches to where I'm standing, making me froze. I was now standing beneath the black dragon, hiding behind its deadly jaws, clicking shut just few inches on its neck. But the black dragon let out spew of red-hot flame burst from its mouth, flaring its scarlet wings, and it yelped with pain, falling back to the ground and got burned as it disappeared into a thin air with a dust.

I can't believe with my own eyes, it's gone, disappeared with its own ashes. The black dragon turned to me, and move steps forward as I walked backwards.

I was captivated by its eyes with my little ones. It was a stunning, revolving emerald and forest being swirled together in a concoction of beautiful, deadly rage.

Unexpectedly, it shifted itself into a human form, making me gasp in surprise, flabbergasted. It took me a moment to realize that it's not only a dragon but a human being. It seems that I'm not able to see his face clearly as it was masked by the darkness.

What's this..?

A dragon man? No, a shapeshifter... Scratch that, maybe a drakkon.

The familiar forest green eyes are now gazing into mine as if it was looking directly into my soul.

I couldn't move, I couldn't speak, and I couldn't scream. All I could do was stare wide-eyed at the figure before me.

Well, shit.

I fainted.
