1 I'll show you who is boss!

"You better not look away from me!" Alora smirked as she threw the thick wooden stick that was clutched in her hand.

The stick hit the creature's forehead, causing it to take a few steps back as it stabilized itself and glared back at Alora.

The creature's eyes changed color once again and from a grayish dull pigment, it became a bright blue color. It had long white fur with darker edges on the fur coat. The creature looked much alike a wolf, but with three tails and sharp fangs that were threateningly on display as it growled at Alora.

Without wasting another minute, the creature pranced forward towards her and tried its best to bite off her arm for throwing the branch at it but before it could get that close to her, she jumped up and avoided it by a mere few inches.

"That's it! You're looking lively again!" Alora beamed as she clung onto the tree branch and looked down at the creature that had face-planted itself on the tree.

The creature shook its head and snapped towards her, but she was already high up and no matter how much it jumped, it wasn't able to catch a hold of her leg that was dangling down in front of it.

Alora laughed as she saw this and put force on her hands as she tried to climb up, but before she could completely pull herself up the tree, she heard a cracking sound. Her mind instantly froze up as she turned her head to look at the place where the sound had come from.

Another crack and she could clearly see it.

It was the branch...

In the very next second, she could feel herself falling as the branch she was clinging onto broke and she landed on her butt with a hungry creature growling as it saw her.

"Oh no..." Alora tried to stand up, but her leg was being obstructed and when she looked down, she found that the branch had not only broken and failed her, but it had also fallen on her leg causing her to be unable to stand up.

It was as if luck had abandoned her today.

"Come on! Come on! Come on!" She tried her best to pull her leg out from underneath the branch, but she failed miserably as the branch didn't move an inch. The branch was simply too heavy for her to move.

Her leg started aching miserably, so much so that a few round drops of tears almost rolled out of her eyes. She glanced up at the growling creature that seemed to be smirking as it got ready to attack her once again.

The creature was certainly not looking to waste time as it took the opportunity and immediately jumped at her with its mouth wide open aiming right for her head. This creature wasn't playing around. It was seriously trying to kill her. It was probably seeing her as a scrumptious dinner and Alora was a bit helpless this time.

Her brain tried to come up with a way for her to escape the situation, but the pain emitting from her leg was distracting her mind and she couldn't think up of anything.

She tapped around the ground to find something that could be of use and picked up whatever her hand could grip. It was too late for her to see what she had picked up as she tried to hit the creature with it.

She held it straight up and when the piece of stick pierced through the creature's mouth, she heard the thing whimper as it moved back.

It was lucky that she had managed to find the sharp-pointed stick on time.

The creature took a step back and glared at Alora before turning around and running away deeper into the forest.

It took her a whole minute to process what had just happened as she sighed, "Phew~"

Her sigh turned into a chuckle as she laid down on her back and looked up at the sky, which wasn't even visible due to the leaves that had covered it. This was a pretty thick forest with a lot of weird-looking trees, however, it was still oddly pretty.

The moonlight that peeked through the gap between the leaves had a crimson tone to it and if it was someone else seeing this, they would have certainly found the place a bit eerie, but, that was not the case for Alora who found peace in this eerie forest that was home to vicious creatures.

Alora didn't have enough energy to stand up as she looked down at her leg which was still stuck under the heavy branch. Since she was stuck, there was nothing that could be done and so, she closed her eyes and decided to rest for a while.

It was already time for her to wake up or she'll be late for her morning classes.

As expected, when she began to fall asleep, the annoying alarm sound was heard close to her ear, jolting her up from her slumber.

She immediately turned the damn thing off and laid back down on her bed, with her phone clutched in her hand as she looked at her blank ceiling.

"That damned three-tailed fox! That little shit better wait for the next time I see it! I'll show you who's boss!" She cursed the creature that had attacked her in her dreams, but there was nothing more that she could do about it.

With a sigh, the girl got up from the bed and looked at the time on her clock.

Figuring that she had more than enough time to get ready, she took her own sweet time while taking a bath and getting dressed. After having lazily done her morning routine, when she looked at the time again, her eyes almost popped out of her sockets as she realized that she was already ten minutes late for her class.

She grabbed her bag, which, she didn't even realize, was empty, and headed out the door without even bothering to check if she was wearing the right colored socks which she actually wasn't.

Her university wasn't that far away. She could take a taxi and get there in five minutes or she could run and get there in fifteen minutes with her full body drenched in sweat. Mrs. Miranda was certainly not a fan of sweaty students so the former option sounded a lot better than the latter.

Alora tried to hail a taxi, but it seemed that luck wasn't on her side today so she decided to run, but after taking a few steps, she felt her leg tremble and hurt so she looked down only to find that there was a bruise on her leg.

"Damn it!" She cursed as she looked at the discolored area on her shin.

She didn't remember getting hurt this badly so she simply made herself believe that she had twisted her leg while sleeping and maybe that was the reason why she unconsciously got trapped under that branch in her dream.

She switched her phone on to see that she was now already ten minutes late to a one hour class.

The only reason why she was going to college so early in the morning was because this one hour class was taken by Mrs. Miranda and she was a woman who was so strict that if you didn't have enough attendance in her class, even God couldn't stop her from failing you.

Alora was already on her bad student list and if she didn't attend enough classes for the next half of her semester, she was sure that this witch was going to fail her without even batting an eye. After all, there was a reason why Mrs. Miranda was known as the witch.

An hour had sixty minutes and she had already wasted ten, but if she could reach there in the next ten minutes, she would at least be able to attend the next forty minutes of the witch's class.

She walked towards her university with a fast pace, constantly trying to book a cab, but her damn internet also had to hate her today.

Buffering and buffering and even more buffering...

She almost threw her phone away as she saw the annoying buffering sign spinning more crazily than her mind.

She walked for a while and without a cab, she reached the gate of her university. She looked down at the time displayed on her phone only to find out that she was now thirty minutes late to class.

"Well... At least I can take the last thirty minutes." She muttered with a sigh under her breath as she spoke to herself and showed the guard her student's ID card before heading towards block D, third floor, classroom number 666.
