Chapter 22: Concern over Chase

Elliot could not believe his eyes when he saw Emile talking to the woman with the long, black hair. The two of them were talking animatedly across the bridge.

Elliot had been about to cross the bridge when he saw them talking to each other as if they have known each other for a long time. He then sat down on a patch of grass and watched them.

When Urella seemed as if she was about to cross the river, Elliot got up and rushed back along the way that he had come.

After a while, he stopped and looked around himself. There was no sign of the witch-like woman, so he leaned against a tree trunk and tried to catch his breath.

“What could Emile possibly have to discuss with someone like that?” he asked himself. “I will have to keep a close eye on him in the future. Right now Julietta must be done with homework. It’s better to go and join her at the lake than to wait for Emile,” he told himself. He wanted to avoid Emile for that moment.
