11 Hogwarts with a ward

I had completed yet another one of my treasure troves.

"Pardon my disrupt you but have you finished your reading? If it would not be shameful to ask, I would love to borrow the book." The boy awkwardly asked.

"Knowledge is gained by sharing knowledge, I have no problem, just make sure the book is not damaged, it's fragile as old as it is."

"Ah thank you, I am always interested in muggle literature, wasteful as one may call they have some great literary achievements."

"Here. I am Benedict, and you are?

"Oh, introductions are in order. I am Mike, Mike Selwyn. You have been raised by muggles then?"

"For the most part. I heard about the mismatched views over the blood status, does it matter to you? Since I am new to the whole wizarding world you see."

"Blood status. Ah, the pure-blood ideology. I happen to be Selwyn, one of the sacred 28, but you don't seem to be familiar with this term, are you?

"Never heard of them."

"You see the magical world, Britain one has twenty-eight noble wizarding families, all interrelated as they breed in between themselves. Pardon my language. They are basically those families who retained their pure-blood status after the 1930s."

"And the definition of...

"Pure blood is to have three consecutive generations of parents be of wizards and witches."

"I see.

"I happened to be outcasted from my family, love for muggle literature is costly you see."

"What of the house system? Does it matter which house I choose?"

"You do not choose the house. Actually, you do but subconsciously. And it won't matter unless you belong to a pure-blood family, which would require you to be a Slytherin, especially in the current set of events."

"Events?

"It seems I am the only one talking here, not that it matters. There were riots, rioting party being Death eaters, that's what they call the lackeys of Voldemort."

"Voldemort?

"It is taboo to say his name, it happens to have some dark spell on it, reveals the speaker's position"

"But it won't affect you?"

"It will but my parents happen to be death eaters, so it nulls the taboo at some level."

"And who is the Voldemort?

"Dark lord, leader of pure blood group which happens to hate the mud blood origin wizards from the wizarding world. You do not mind speaking his name?

"Ah, I do not worry about these things. But Death eaters, seriously?

"Well, there is some screw loose of people who join the "DARK-lord" to become "DEATH-eaters"The words seem pretty descriptive to me."

"Well, which house would you prefer to be in?

"Slytherin, I happen to have a lot of peer pressure from my ancestors. What about you- A pretty woman opens the door to check on us. She was not wearing robes like us but a suit, She turned around to leave and man that-

It was at this moment, both students in the compartment had their eyes fixed on one place, The focus was unshakable, relentless, and non-stop.

"Don't bother, I am just checking up on first years." She left but the memory of her back will remain immortal in the minds of these two young students.

He met my eyes and we both had a small smug smile on our faces, which hosed a nod from each other.

The rest of the journey was a silent one.

What a view.

What a view.

What a view.

The train stopped, and it seems the destination has been reached. This is Hogsmead station, we had to walk from here to Hogwarts, nothing too big of a task.

I had most of luggage than anyone else, more than some senior years even. "Man someone bullying you to pick up his luggage? I can have him punished, the prefects know me."

"No, all of this is mine, have some muggle books, permitted by a professor."

"Let me help then, give me the small one. I may ask for them after you have read them." "Here"

"All of you younglings gather around. Form a line of sorts. Yes. Let's go it's not that far from here." A tall girl aimed us to march. Must be those prefect or something Selwyn mentioned.

"She is beautiful." "She is betrothed" "Still beautiful." "That I agree." "She's a perfect?" "It is perfect and no, she is not, she is above prefect, the Headgirl. That's above prefects." "Explain how it works"

"Prefects are usually fifth years and are house based, meaning four of them each of different houses. They have the most authority in their house. Headgirl is the most authoritative girl along with its male Counterpath Headboy. House means little to them and they have similar, if not the same authority as a teacher in the school."

"And she is?" "Bellatrix Black, the seventh year, Headgirl and one of the sacred 28 and a Slytherin. She is not very hateful against half-bloods and muggle-born but I won't take chances befriending her. I really am dealing like your personal Wikipedia here, I want my rights."

"What is Wikipedia?

"Ask me in thirty years. Now move fast, unless you want to hear McGonagall bickering on the first" day." Mike Selwyn

"Ye' all get sight of Hogwarts in a sec" A giant joined our group, but he seems to be a dwarf in the giants. "Just 'round this corner." But s sentient giant is interesting nonetheless.

"He is?

"Hagrid, Hogwarts gamekeeper. Why do I even know all of this?" "Destiny, my boy."

The narrow path opened into an edge of a lake. Looking past the lake was a castle, and I hope our destination is as it looks cool. The other first years continue boarding the boats to sail through the lake, while we stood there taking this sight to our minds.

"It's beautiful isn't it?" "It is" "Fancy much?" " I have seen grander." "I doubt that." "Doubt all you can, the castle of Dragonsreach. while smaller than this has a much more welcoming appearance. And I have seen bigger too."

"Can I ask for a tour of that place from you then?"

"We could only hope to see that castle in our lifetime, and I won't bet on that." "Let's go we are left behind."

We were the last one and had to share with Hagrid. The boat held the three of us and I believed that this boat will hold together till the edge (I didn't).

"Ah, lads, don't worry. It won't sink, it has something-something charms."

"Sorry, but can I ask your breed?" "Not the right words to choose, Ben" "Parental composition?" "Still in the red!" "Racial qualities of your origin?" "What are you doing? Ask the right words! We are on a boat in the middle of a lake dammit!"

"Ah don't worry. I don't take curiosity for hate. As for... ahem my parent you want to ask?" "Yes"

"I am half-giant, my mother a full giant and father not a giant. Here we are. If you want to ask, don't shy away. I live on Hogwarts ground, ask someone." "Ah! Thanks"

"Professor McGonagall"

"Hagrid"

"First years" She turned toward us with a stern expression. This woman needed to relax, wrinkles are not so far away.
