22 CHAPTER - XVIII

The next day

When Derek opened his eyes it took a while for his mind to clear, once his mind cleared, the first thing he noticed, was the extra weight on his left arm and moisture, when he looked at his arm, he saw Kamala who was sound asleep on his arm with a small trail of saliva falling from her mouth.

Derek : "Ok, I wasn't expecting this, haa... think I'd better get up before she wakes up and it happens" to with extreme care remove his arm, replacing it with a pillow, which Kamala hugged for warmth.

Derek got up and left the medical room, looking for Bruce or Hank, through his smell senses, it took him only a few minutes to find them.

In the dining room of the anthill, or so he thought since he has only been here for a day, when he entered the dining room, everyone stared at him, but the ones that looked at him the most were the inhumans when they recognized him, Derek decided to ignore them, while he headed towards Bruce and Hank.

Hank : "You woke up early Derek, I thought because of your injuries you would sleep more, I recommend you eat and go back to the med room to rest so your wounds can heal completely."

Bruce Banner : "I agree with what Hank said, Derek you should rest."

"I'm fine Bruce, Mr. Hank, look" Derek told them taking off the bandages on his right arm revealing his arm without any visible wounds, while stretching and squeezing his fingers into a fist, also taking off the gauze on his face without any wounds, only a scab of blood left from the previous wounds, and burn the bandages and gauze with blood as he had done previously in the infirmary with what they used to heal him.

Without giving them time to ask any questions, Derek got up and took a tray to serve himself some food, which took about five minutes, when Derek returned they were surprised to see the amount of food he brought with him since that is the amount that ten people would eat.

?? : "You're seriously going to eat all that... hey don't ignore me" asked a third person at the table, which Derek recognized as the girl who had been spying on them when he and Tony reported on the Adaptoid.

"Mm, sorry for ignoring you, it's just that I haven't eaten anything since yesterday... and yes I will eat all of this, by the way I've answered your question now tell me who are you?" asked Derek to the girl, but before she could answer, Hank answered for her.

"She is Cassandra, and although she is not inhuman, she also has powers from being exposed to Pym particles by accident" Hank replied as he put his hand on Cassie's shoulder.

"I see, it's nice to meet you Cassandra" said Derek as he held out his hand in greeting, Cassandra for her part looked at this for a few seconds to smile and accept his hand, "Nice to meet you Derek, but call me Cassie, all my friends call me that."

Derek nodded, and continued eating it only took him a few minutes to make all the food disappear, while answering the questions of why his quick recovery, incidentally telling them about his healing factor and the potions, as they would find out when they saw Tony fully recovered.

So they spent minutes talking to each other, about how she discovered her powers in an AIM raid, while Hank and Bruce listened, but Derek stopped when he caught the scent of Kamala, who was approaching where he was.

Kamala : "Derek, what are you doing here you should be in the medical room, resting, getting your wounds healed and why didn't you wake me up if you were hungry?" she asked as she remembered they slept together.

"Kamala I am already fully recovered look" he said to show her his fully healed arm,

Derek : "and the Why didn't I wake you up? It was because you were so comfortable, that I decided not to wake you up" he said it with a teasing smile, making Kamala blush.

"I understand..." said almost whispering Kamala.

Derek decided not to bother Kamala anymore, instead asking her and Hank for a favor,

Derek : "Mr. Hank I wanted to ask you if you would have an empty spot in the anthill, and if you do, could you lend it to me?"

Hank stood for a moment thoughtfully "actually yes there is one that no one uses, but what do you need it for?"

Derek : "Well it's just that I want to create a suit out of the metal I created, because every time I use my powers, any clothes I wear always burn or break, plus I want to work on other personal projects, and also use it for training"

"I see..., Cassie when you are done here take Derek to area 103, please" Hank asked his daughter, to get up along with Bruce and leave the dining room.

But at that moment someone unknown approached the group of three "Hi guys, nice to meet you, Bruce's friends".

Derek looked at him and the first thing he saw was his skin, as the color was somewhere between a pale blue and purple, "mmm hi."

"This is Theo, he is in charge of rescuing and transporting us, when AIM attacks or abducts inhumans" Cassie told him, to which Theo responded by opening a mini portal in the palm of his hand.

Theo : "Guys welcome to the Ant Hill home of the Misfits".

"Uh thanks" Derek said hesitantly, for her part Kamala smiled, "Your power is awesome"

Theo : "Haha, thank you my beautiful lady"

Cassie : "Hey guys don't put on airs for this idita, or he'll play pranks on you when you get careless"

"O come on Cassie, you laughed too when fire boy's hair turned pink" Theo said exasperated.

Cassie didn't answer him "Come on Derek, Kamala I'll take you both to area 103" for her part Derek and Kamala got up and said goodbye to Theo leaving him alone at the table.

Ten minutes later we can see Kamala, Derek and Kamala in an empty area of about 5 cubic meters.

"This is area 103 Derek, it's all yours until my father says otherwise" Cassie said to them.

"Thank you Cassie" Derek thanked her, "Alright let's get to work" he said enthusiastically to from the system buy a special machine to create fabrics and pull it out, totally surprising Cassie minus Kamala having gotten used to seeing Derek pull things out of thin air or disappear all this time.

Kamala : "Trust me this is only the beginning in time you will get used to it."

Cassie : "I see, that's why Bruce said he's someone with a lot of surprises."

Once the machine was ready, Derek began to create metallic threads, thanks to his metallic spider web skill, focusing on making them as thin as possible like any other thread only this thread is made of absorbent metal, this took him an hour of absolute concentration making the metallic spider web skill level up 5 times and gain an effect.

"I'm not complaining, if you want you can go on, I'm enjoying it" said Cassie boldly, as she saw the pecs and abdomen with Derek's legendary eight packs, but before Kamala could say anything to her Tony walked in.

"O from what I see you don't waste your time kid, it's not only Kamala at the moment it's also Hank's daughter" Tony said in mockery and a bit of surprise.

"Uncle Tony, good to see you, are you better now" Cassie ran over to Tony to hug him which he reciprocated.

"Good to see you Cassie, the last time I saw you you were this size" he told her with his hand trying to show how tall she was.

"That was seven years ago Uncle" smiled Cassie in happiness.

"That's true, and as much as I would like to keep talking to you Cassie, I need to be left alone with Derek" Stark said seriously, to which she nodded seriously as she pulled Kamala to leave, as they walked out neither lost sight of Derek's exposed body until the door closed.

Cassie : "You like Derek Kamala."

Kamala : "What? I, I..."

"Don't even try to deny it, I've seen the look you've been giving him since you walked into the dining room" replied Cassie without giving Kamala a chance to deny it, "Is it that obvious?" asked Kamala.

"It is and very much so, and I understand you who wouldn't fall in love with him with that body, he's really hot and I'm not saying that because of his powers" said Cassie with a smile, "You should tell him he could bet anything you want that he knows how you feel about him."

Kamala : "I don't know if I should tell him."

"You must have more confidence in you, but let's leave that for later, how about training with me I heard that you can get bigger also for your powers, since seeing Derek doing that left me a little hot" said Cassie with a little excuse, also to calm down and in passing reassure Kamala.

Kamala : "It's okay, but have you been told you're too direct."

Cassie : "Yeah Papa says a lot."

With Tony and Derek

"Kid I need your help with something" Tony said as he lifted up his shirt, making Derek nervous about this, "Hey Stark sorry but I like women, I think if you talk to Bruce and work out your problems he'll gladly do it" Derek said backing away cautiously.

"Damn kid I already told you I'm not going that way, just watch this" without another word Tony lifted up his shirt showing his chest and the ARK reactor, from which trails like circuits were coming out, which reminded Derek of the movie Iron Man 2.

"Palladium poisoning" Derek said.

Tony : "I see you know, when we lost on A-Day and were declared dangerous, before they took away all my technology, I destroyed what I could about my suits, the ARK reactor and the new element I had created, only managing to take one with me, which stopped working a few months ago and with no other option I went back to using palladium, the bad thing is that this is slowly killing me."

"I understand what you mean, but where do I come in here Tony" asked Derek rhetorically.

Tony : "It's your metal, to give physical form to the new created element I used vibranium, but this time I don't have any of that metal anymore, your metal is the most appeared than to vibranium that's why I need you."

TING

MISSION

System: "The system is just looking for a way to help host become strong, as fast as possible."

Derek could only sigh in resignation, "Alright Tony tell me what to do."

"Fiu, I knew you liked me kid, guys come on in" Tony said from his earpiece so that in 20 minutes the door would open and a group of inhumans would enter with lots of materials to create a particle accelerator.

"Haa I won't say anything, let's just get it started" said Derek with a bit of frustration then smiled.

The two started locating all the pieces and connecting the dark metal tubes level, while Tony pointed out where they should go, they kept doing that until noon, Tony realized how convenient Derek was since the first time he did it at home it took him two full days.

"Well, now I just need you to create carriers with your metal and then make the corresponding ARK reactor, and from there I'll take care of fixing and modifying the suit for the new power source."

Derek just held out his hand as he concentrated on creating some carriers, in the end he created ten, while Tony concentrated on designing the reactor, which he created a bunch of drawings on his laptop in an instant about the new ARK reactor and the suit plus the workings of his weapons.

An hour later, Tony did all the calculations, "It's time to create it."

Tony stood up and placed the triangular acceleration prism on the power node and at the same time fixed the triangular metal absorbing carrier to the opposite triangular prism holder.

Tony and Derek put on a pair of sunglasses, opened the power injection port, and a clear light appeared in the black tube surrounding the circle, continuously accelerating the loop, Tony grabbed the wheel above the triangular prism, trying to reflect the light, in the end Derek had to help him as Tony didn't have the strength to move it.

The light blue laser went off and the bright light reflected directly off the metal absorber changing and adapting to the new energy source, the light became more intense.

Derek had to leave Tony controlling the wheel, to quickly cover himself with metal absorber scales and replace the triangular support with one of the remaining 8 and so it continued until the light dissipated and the 10 metal triangles glowed blue along with Derek's scales making Derek feel more energized than ever before.

Tony grabbed one with a tweezers and placed it in the reactor he had recently created, the energy core was automatically installed and the energy poured into the reactor, making it look like a small heart, which was beating slowly and adapting, until the blue one stabilized.

"Ready Stark with this you have 10 new metal absorbing ARK reactors" Derek was happy seeing the new element working perfectly in the reactor, Tony was the same way as it was a weight off his shoulders.

"Thanks kid it looks like I owe you another one, we'll talk later I still need to do some calculations on these reactors" and without further ado Tony left, the moment Tony left he received the notification of mission accomplished.
