34 Fuck Claire and her goddarn prophecies!

Tai frowned deeply as he stared into the maddening skies ahead of him. The prophecy thing had began to really, really bother him.

Claire's prophecies were usually the cause of it's manifestation in one way or another, and the red haired teenager was not sure if him ignoring it would be the cause of it coming true.

The harrowing clutches of curiosity held him by his neck, and the mind burdening, blood curling, terrible embrace of fear had taken deep root in his heart, making him hesitant to make either choice.

To know the possible cause of his death, or to partly make sure that he would not die by steering the ship at the mercy of a deadly storm that no person deserved to suffer

However, how could he even be sure that him not choosing either choice and pretending like he had never heard anything would be the cause of it coming true.

"Aargh!, Why do the stupid wraiths have to possess her and bring forth a prophecy NOW of all times?!!"

Stretching his arms as much as he could, Tai made sure he was holding the helm, at least one oar, and the rope for the sails securely before he strained his ears and leaned towards the blonde girl as much as his torso would allow him to.

He could not hear much through the violent noises coming from the storm around them, but he could pick up a few words.

"...Fall."

Tai raised a brow. "Fall?"

If she was saying something about falling, then it would mean that either one of them would fall off the ship, or the ship itself would fall. The thought of crashing thousands of feet through the time storm and ending up in the dinosaur era did not sound too appealing.

However, Claire had more to say.

"...The stubborn red head gave his all..."

Tai frowned deeply. The system usually called him the 'stubborn red head'.

Did this mean that Claire's wraiths were related to the system?

That could open up a whole new dimension of possibilities for her unique affinity and all, but the red haired teenager had bigger problems to think about.

Straining even harder than before, Tai managed to hear a bit more.

"In a desperate bid to save them all ..."

This time, his heart skipped a few beats. "I... I'll have to save us all?!"

This was especially worrying to hear when someone was on a flying ship in a death trap. Hundreds of questions raced through his mind as he tried to dechiper what the hell she meant.

"Would get attacked by something?"

"No, beasts cannot survive within a time storm."

"Not unless it's a very high level one, though. Just like the shadow dragon."

"Or maybe the ship would sink?"

"But what the hell can make the ship sink and how can I save us all?!"

It was weird for him to talk to himself, but somehow, he found talking to himself like he was talking to another person the best way to think.

Another blinding flash of lightning streaked past the ship, and as the world went silent, expecting a deafening thunderclap, Tai froze.

"In... a... desperate... bid... to... save... them... all..."

He could hear the complete prophecy and probably save them all from certain doom before the thunderclap would blow.

"...the... stubborn... red...head,... led..to... his... own... fall."

The red haired teenager frowned deeply.

"In a desperate bid to save us all, I'll lead to my own fall?

But I'll try to save us from what?!"

This was giving him a headache.

Sighing, Tai rolled his eyes and tightened his grip on the sail.

If he had known he would be hearing a forth grader's poem for third period poetry class, he wouldn't have even bothered to listen.

However, as he looked back up to the storms in front of him, his eyes widened and his grip on the helm grew even tighter.

"...Fuck Claire and her goddarn prophecies...'

Nikki stirred awake and streched her arms.

"Good morning mum..."

However, as she opened her eyes, a look of confusion found it's way to her face. "What the hell is Claire doing at my hou..."

But she never got to finish speaking, as her brain had adjusted enough to understand the situation.

The winds, the deafening cacophony, the bending of reality, and the violent tossing of the ship all hit the blue haired teenager at the same time, making her head spin in an agonizing pain, her skin crawl, and her stomach churn like she was about to throw up.

"S... Shit, I'm still in the damned storm.."

Nikolah had only one goal for now, and that was to excel in the Protectors Academy like her brothers had done. She wanted to prove herself. For that one reason, she had spent most of her life studying the secrets of the frost, her family's ability.

She had mastered all the theoretical aspects of her Affinity at a young age. She had trained her ordinary body to almost superhuman levels, she had put the lives of her teammates in danger by going to the one most dangerous islands available for the expedition. Dying was not part of her plans.

She staggered to her feet, and when she was about to call out to the red haired teenager, Claire spasmed once again.

"In a desperate bid to save them all, the stubborn red head, like to his own fall."

Nikki raised a brow, then realization hit her, Claire had just made another prophecy.

'shit!'

Quickly turning her head, the blue haired teenager faced the helm. But the sight in front of her made her freeze.

"Fuck Claire and her goddarn prophecies...''
