Chapter 7: What kind of first mission is this?

I and Happy stood behind Natsu and Cira who were ready for the fight that was about to break out, and as much as I would like to help, it feels like I would only make things worse if I throw myself into the middle of this.

"Damn it! How is it that this fried brain always gets himself involved in sh*t? *sigh*" Behind me I heard a voice that didn't surprise me since I could feel his presence ever since we left Magnolia and part of the reason I wasn't too worried about the whole situation.

Gray stood behind me and Happy as shirtless as ever.

"Gray?! What are you doing here? Also, why did you take your pants off?" Happy was slightly surprised to see Gray and even warned him that he took his pants off a second after appearing.

Sometimes I forgot how quirky the people in this world are...

"Aaahhh! My pants!" Gray realized he was in underwear and began dressing up.

"What the hell are doing here ice stripper?!" Natsu and immediately reacted to Gray's presence and seemed to forget there are enemies right there.

"Your job obviously, since you can't do it yourself, ash brain!" Gray insulted Natsu back and they headbutted while slandering each other.

"You guys can get married any other day, there are enemies right there!" I couldn't just let these two waste time like this and interjected.

"Who would marry this Frost face?!"

"Who would ever want this Heat lamp?!"

They spoke basically at the same time and I didn't know if I could take another second of their bickering. Hopefully, before they could say anymore Cira came in.

"Yes, Kaory is correct. The two of you are giving the enemy an opportunity to... " Cira moved closer to the boys as she spoke then stopped right in front of them and. "ATTACK!" She shouted as she moved her spear in an arc to hit both Natsu and Gray without the slightest bit of hesitation.

(I knew it!) That was all I thought at that instant and I didn't worry too much about their Safety after they should still be main characters right?

The spear slashed air as both Natsu and Gray managed to step back before being cut down.

"What the hell?! That was close! Don't just move that thing around it's really sharp!" Natsu yelled at Cira with a line of blood on his left cheek, that he was caressing with crying eyes before sealing it with fire.

"I have to agree with Fire Face over here, you really can't trust anyone outside the guild these days." Gray commented as he used his ice to seal the small wound on his left cheek as the ice on his cheek became red.

Before the two of them could relax the other enemies come running while some attack spells of various colors were flying their way.

"Ice-Make: SHIELD!" Gray stepped forward and created an ice shield protecting himself and Natsu from the incoming spells.

Natsu Jumped over the Ice shield while inflating his cheeks then. "Fire Dragon's roar!", he releases a great number of flames towards Anarchy King's mages, causing a few of them to be knocked out immediately.

"I guess I underestimated you two a bit, but I can't lose time dealing with small fry like you. Yoro, bring the other Anarchy Royals here and deal with these two, while I get the flute. We don't have much time to waste here, make it quick." Cira ordered as her appearance began to change, she went from a slender-looking young woman to a muscular woman with a six-pack and her hair became longer and her hairstyle became a braided top with the rest of the hair staying straight. The tribal-like clothes she was wearing become tighter because of her increase in size as she went from 169cm(5'5) to 189cm(6'2).

"Yes, Guild master!" The man with a green mohawk replied then disappeared in a flash of light.

Gray and Natsu were being surrounded by the hundreds of Anarchy King's members while Cira was looking at me.

(Damn it! I was already expecting things to escalate, but did it have to go this way?... It might be a good idea to let Happy get me out of here.) I think in the instant our eyes met and I immediately turn to Happy. "Use your wings, we have to get out of here now!" Not losing time I immediately order Happy.

"You're right! We're out! Aye, sir!" Happy didn't question it and clung onto my back and used his wings to get us both up.

"Happy Dodge!" I scream as Cira's spear comes our way without any warning.

Happy forcibly changed our trajectory to avoid the spear but it was too fast and I didn't come unwarned out of it. My left arm now had a deep cut near my shoulder and I could see the blood slipping out of my arm before I was completely aware of what had happened.

"Arrrgggghhh! That was fucken close!" I let out a moan of pain, before sighing in relief for being alive.

"I missed... I'm it seems I really can't go on underestimating any member of fairy tail. But I'll tell you now that any attempts at resisting will be futile. Now, before you die allow me to give you the honor of knowing who took your life. I'm Cari Velbork, the Guild master of the dark guild Anarchy King." Cari introduced herself while looking at us with no worry as if she's in control of everything, then she pulled out a lipstick pointing it at us, and I tilted my head to the right confused at her behavior.

Not a second later a red line passes by me and more blood started coming out but now from a cut on my left cheek, then I looked at Cari and the lipstick was nowhere to be seen. Did she just throw it at us? What kind of speed was that?! Had I not tilted my head I would be dead!!

"Oh, how lucky? But luck won't save you again." Cari said and without giving us time she took of an earring and threw it at us.

(Fuck?! Do I just die like that?! What kind of first mission is this?!) I wanted to close my eyes but before I could even do so the earring was already in front of my eyes.

*Boing*

A weird noise could be heard as the earning ricocheted on the air and I couldn't understand what was going on.

"That was close, we have Cari right where we wanted her, do it now!" A voice I could recognize came out of nowhere as a man with blue hair walked in of Cari, it was that bastard, Maltus!

Suddenly purple floating letters began appearing from the ground and the area around Cari and Maltus. I had seen these when I watched fairy tail back on earth, it's a very useful and kinda broken trap magic called Jutsu Shiki that basically allows the user to set up a barrier that actives when someone enters its area and can only be broken when the person inside meets the conditions you set up. The drawback is that setting Jutsu Shiki can take a lot of time depending on the conditions you want to set up that being the reason it's more suited for traps. Well, it can still be used for more than that though.

"Jutsu Shiki? Maltus, is this your best attempt at stalking me?" Cari was obviously surprised but it soon faded and was changed to a mischievous smile as she teased Maltus.

"Silence! This time you will not escape! Under the laws set by the Magic Council, you Cari Velbork are under arrest. Surrender now or we will have no other choice but to use forcefully take you in!" Maltus didn't seem to be pleased by her teasing and immediately jumped to the typical cop talk.

"Forcefully in... I didn't know you were so aggressive, if you had acted like this instead of being such a beta when you asked me out, I would have actually considered it, you know." She said with an obviously fake blush while acting shy and innocent.

I didn't even know what to say looking at her shameless performance.

"You little-! Whatever! If you're not cooperating, I won't be holding back. Water bubble magic: Bubble pop paradise!" Maltus snapped and pulled out a bubble wand before casting spell at Cari.

"He has a shorter fuse than Natsu, aye." Happy commented looking at the situation.

"I don't think the problem is what's being said, but rather who's saying it." I added not knowing what to think of this absurd situation.

"Oh, so he llllllikes her!" Happy said once he heard me and I didn't say anything in response.

*Pop* *Boom!*

Tons of bearly visible human-sized bubbles appeared around Cari and began exploding one after the other.

After the wave of explosions was down, Cari was there standing unharmed.

"That was close, if I wasn't fast to react it could have been bad. I can't believe the magic council members have fallen as low as to attack a defenseless young woman because of a mere rejection, how bad has our magic society begone?" Cari was putting on a show and even let out fake tears while sitting on the ground pretending to be injured.

"Wow, she's more shameless than Lucy." Happy could help but comment.

Nodding my head in agreement, I start trying to figure out how to move from here as the situation is exactly the best right now.

"Water bubble magic: Honing sticky bubbles!" Maltus seemed to have given up on talking to Cari and simply used his bubble wand to cast another spell.

"Too embarrassed of your crimes to even speak? Like I thought you're just another beta. Enchantment magic: Speed boost!" Cari didn't stop trying to push Maltus' buttons as she used magic and became faster dodging the bubbles coming at her, but the bubble continued pursuing her.

Maltus didn't answer, even so, the veins bulging on his forehead were more than enough to say how he feels, and I almost feel bad for him.

I looked at the other side and Natsu and Gray were done dealing with the cannon fodder.

"These guys talked a lot but were this weak... I'm disappointed." Natsu sighed as he let go of his last victi- I mean adversary.

"Less yapping and more work. Aren't you here to Help Kaory with a quest?" Gray responded as he scanned the area to see if there's any more enemies.

"The quest!!! I completely forgot... Wait, where are Happy and Kaory?.... Ah! I found their scent!... What are they doing up there?... HEY! WHAT-!" Natsu who had forgotten why he was there in the first place wanted to call me and Happy but then.

"Duck! Ice pervert!" Natsu pushed Gray down and immediately after a yellow-ray of light passed by them, hitting and destroy a bunch of trees nearby.

"What are you...." Gray wanted to complain but then realized what happened and both he and Natsu got up to look at the source of the attack.

"Good instincts, very few people can dodge my attacks! But regardless, you're going down under the rule of Anarchy King!" The guy with the green Mohawk was back and now had shades on as well as two new people with him.

"Can you not be so noisy for once Yoro? I would expect that from Vin considering his abilities, but why can't you stop shouting for ONCE!" A woman with deep black hair who's wearing karate clothes was standing right beside the green Mohawk man, apparently named Yoro.

She wasn't as tall as Cari but still taller than Yoro, and the expression on her face was Serena even though her voice was stern.

"Can't you relax for once? You're not getting a boyfriend if don't chill once in a while, I've known you-." Yoro didn't seem bothered by her words at all and even went on to talk about her love life.

While Yoro was talking the karate woman attack him with a punch that looked powerful, but he disappeared in a flash of light and appeared quite far from her.

"Get here! And say that to my face, if you're a man!" Seeing that Yoro had the advantage, she went on and resorted to provocation, after all, it's not a bad way to make orders commit mistakes, I thought looking at the situation.

This place was getting more chaotic and the battle would soon get serious.

"What a bunch of weirdos, discussing like that in the middle of a fight." Natsu commented making his lack of self-awareness evident.

Gray looked at Natsu for a second as if he was going to scold him, but then turned to the enemy and began casting another spell. "Ice-make: Lance!"

A bunch of ice lances was sent flying towards the three enemies of which Yoro disappeared in a yellow flash, while the Karate woman and the other guy just stood there.

The guy beside the karate was wearing punk clothes, a white T-shirt that's completely ragged full of holes while being sleeveless and splattered with paint of different colors. His plants are jet black and he's wearing a belt full of holes with it even though his pants look very tight. There's a necklace that looks like a chain or maybe it's just a chain being used as a necklace, I wouldn't know.

Finally, he doesn't seem to be paying any attention to his surroundings as he's immersed in listening to music with the headset he has on. He's shaking his head up and down with his eyes closed.

"Vin, take care of it." The Karate woman said to the punk man without batting an eye at the incoming attack.

"YYYEEEEAAAAHHHH!!!" The man, apparently named Vin, shouted out his lungs while looking at the sky, his eyes now wide open, a creepy scene that resembled a wolf howling at the moon.

The ice lances sent by Gray shattered and then.

"Aarrrrggghhh!" Me, Natsu, and Happy all screamed in pain as Vin's screech our heads to hurt like hell!

I covered my ears and the sensation of my brain being drilled sank in. I couldn't help but shake my head in hopes the pain will go away as I felt the winds breezing through before realizing I'm falling since Happy is in a similar state to mine. Not even having it in me to bother with it, I could only keep covering my ears trying to prevent this horrendous feeling from getting any worse.

While I and Happy were falling to the ground, Natsu was in a similar state to ours rolling on the ground with an expression of clear pain while covering his ears.

"Damn it! That was loud... Anyway, I better do something about those two. Ice-make: Slide!" Gray was slightly dazed as he could hear ringing in his ears, but he shook his head then saw me and Happy falling before casting his magic to save us.

Me and Happy were caught by a giant ice slide and soon stopped near Gray.

"Have you ever been kicked at the speed of light?" Not giving us time to recompense ourselves, Yoro appeared right in front of Gray with a yellow flash of light kicking his face with an immense strength that sent Gray falling off.

"These guys are much weaker than I thought, is this all fairy tail mages are worth? Truly pitiful... Now, you're coming with me kid." Yoro smiled mockingly after kicking Gray out of the way, before turning to me.

I was still feeling some latent pain in my head because of the attack before, but seeing this guy reaching his hands to grab me, I couldn't simply watch and let myself get kidnapped again, even though I was unconscious last time.

"Gluttony Dragon's roar!" I cast my spell focusing the mana in my mouth and converting it into Null element before blasting it on Yoro's face.

"You little! Look at what you did to my shades!" Yoro yelled as his face was red and his hair messy. There was no evident damage and it seemed like all I accomplished was pissing him off and destroying his shades.

While Yoro was focused on me, behind him, Natsu forced himself to get up with clear anger on his face.

"How dare you underestimate FAIRY TAIL! I'll show you just how strong a Fairy Tail mage is! Fire Dragon's iron fist!" Flames engulf Natsu's right hand as he runs towards Yoro then Jumps forward while preparing himself to punch him full force.

"Foolish, it won't be that easy to hit me" Yoro closed his and stood there with a victorious smile, but then. "Wait! What's going on?!... I can't use my magic! Even if my shades are broken that shouldn't affect my.... What did you do to me you little bra-" Yoro panic as he noticed he couldn't use his magic and assumed it must be my fault, but before he could finish his rant.

*Bam!* *Crack!*

"Never look down on Fairy tail!" Natsu yelled one last time as he pummeled Yoro to the ground with his fire fist. A crater was formed where Yoro's face was resting as he fell into unconsciousness.

I was surprised by how weak he actually was, and never thought any of them would go down in one hit, but it might just be that this guy had a weak body or defense since he was capable of easily dodging attacks with his magic.

This development was satisfactory to me though as it seems my 'Gluttony Dragon's roar' worked on Yoro and my Null element suppressed his magic, the problem is that since I haven't done any tests yet, I can't say for sure what effect it has. Does it cancel your magic? If so is it temporary? Will its effects change depending on the target? And some other questions. I'll have to properly test my magic once we're done with this mission.

"Hey, Happy."

"Aye, sir?" Happy got himself up hearing Natsu call him.

"Take Kaory with you and stay away from these guys, I'll take care of them!" Natsu said with a wide smile as he punched his own hand with a fire fist.

Before Happy could say anything, I spoke. "You'll get your ass handed to you if you do that, you can't fight that Punk guy if he can scream like that... Besides, you don't even know what that Woman can do, she was giving orders earlier so she's probably their leader, she's definitely gonna be dangerous."

"He's right Natsu! We should go get Gray." Happy added as he seemed to agree with me.

"I was just caught off guard... I'm sure it'll work this time! I don't need that icy pervert's help." Being stubborn, Natsu refused to back down.

"Can't you use that smoked brain of yours for once? It's almost unbelievable that you're still alive." Just as I was about to try and reinforce my points to convince Natsu, Gray came back with red covering half of the left side of his face. It seems he got a serious injury from Yoro's sneak attack earlier.

Gray seemed to be having quite a hard time moving but even so, he walked next to Natsu and then looked at me and Happy.

"You still have a quest to complete, we'll take care of things here. You can focus on that." Gray said trying to reassure me that they've got things under control.

Just as Gray finishes his sentence, I remember why I accepted coming here in the first place. To drink the lava of the volcano because it was said to be special. Having remembered that I looked around and Maltus was still in a heated fight with Cari.

Having confirmed that I looked at Happy and say. "Take me to the volcano."

"But what about Natsu and Gray?" Happy was still worried about them since they are clearly at a disadvantage.

"There's not much we can do right, but if we go to the volcano and get rid of the wand, they won't have much to fight for, and that aside I have a plan. You just have to take me to the volcano." I insist since it will be great if the volcano really is special.

"Aye! Let's go!" Happy nodded as he decided to take me.

Happy immediately grab my back and took me towards the volcano's top with his wings.

While I and Happy were going up, Natsu and Gray were dealing with the two enemies left, or maybe it would be more accurate to say they are being dealt with by them.

"Aaarrrggh! Stop making so much noise!!" Natsu yelled at Vin while covering his ears as he once again heard his unbelievably loud voice, just much lower than last time.

Vin didn't answer or attack and just kept shaking his head to the rhythm of the music playing on his headset.

"Hey! That's rude! I'm talking to you!" Natsu was losing his patience with this guy as his flames ignited on his fist once more.

He didn't lose a second and immediately attack Vin with his fist, only to be easily dodged by him, then Vin countered with a kick on the stomach which sent Natsu back quite a bit creating some distance between them but Natsu didn't give up and jumped at Vin then.

"Fire Dragon's claws!" With his legs ignited in flame, he sends kicks at Vin.

"YOU ARE KING!" Vin's voice vibrates as it completely disturbs the flow of Natsu's attack and causes him to cover his ears, then Vin punches Natsu away.

With that done Vin goes back to appreciating his music, forgetting the world around him.

At the same time, this is happening on the other side things don't look much better.

"You should simply surrender, you're in no condition to fight and your ally has no chances of winning. You're only wasting your life and my time." The Karate woman says with a stern and calm voice and an expression that is filled with boredom.

(That Idiot! Even though I told him to not try to fight that guy, he just jumped at him the moment we start... And this woman, she's weird... My magic can't hit her at all.) Gray looked thoughtful as he looked at the woman with wary eyes and determination.

"We won't know that until we try. Ice-make: a Coffin" Gray positioned his hands together in his casting stance and an ice coffin appeared closing the Karate woman in it.

"Stubborn. I gave you your chance, now I'll send you to death's embrace. Disperse." The ice coffin turned into show fakes and she then approached Gray with ease.

Once she was close enough, she touched the red ice on Gray's left cheek and it turned into red show flakes. Gray clenched his teeth to bear the pain as the dried blood and large wound on his face became visible.

The woman got in a stance and was about to punch the life out of Gray.

A sword came flying towards her and the Karate woman dodged it.

"Gray! Are you ok?" Lucy came running to Gray seeing him in such a state and with her a cat walking on two feet with green fur and a long dress, the exceed from before, Angelica.

Finally, behind Lucy, a woman clad in armor with a blue skirt, deep red hair, and a serious expression carrying an intimidating aura.

Erza Scarlet!

Just like Lucy, Natsu, and Gray... Well, Happy if you want to count him, Erza is one of the main characters of Fairy Tail and is not only that, but she's also a man of culture. Not even mentioning how OP she was most of the time in the anime.

"I'll be your opponent now, if you don't mind." Erza stepped in front of Gray pointing her sword at the karate Woman.

At the same time, I and happy reached the top of the volcano. The lava inside is blue instead of the typical red, making me believe it really is special.

"So much trouble and chaos for this, it better be worth it!" I look at the blue lava in front of me feeling quite expectant.
