2 Ch 2: Teacher?

Having wiped the memories of everyone within the hospital, Sharon rushed back towards the forest. His bare feet pattering on the ground, as his breaths grew more and more anxious.

'Is there anyone else who managed to escape? Why did the Fallen Angels attack us?' Sharon thought to himself as he kept running until he reached the forest.

The forest was filled with lush green trees and dense foliage. Birds sang as they flew around, while faint howls of animals could be heard as well.

Sharon took a deep breath and made his way into the forest. He pushed the leaves and bushes, in the way, to the side as he moved towards the location his village was at, one step at a time.

Minutes later, he arrived at what seemed to be ... just dense forest. There was no trace of his village left, not the burned bodies of his clans-people, nor the remains of the burned village. It was as if the village had never existed in the first place.

Sharon frantically ran around, making sure he had gone the right way, but it all led back to the same spot.

He fell to his knees as tears fell from his eyes. He pounded on the ground with his fists, as his lips kept quivering.

He had lost everything. His family, his friends, his home, ... everything.

Anger began to surge through his body, leading to howls of rage and despair, leaving his mouth.

"AAAAHHH! I WILL KILL YOU!!!!!" He screamed as he continuously pounded on the ground, leaving behind small craters.

"Do you desire power ... young dragonkin?" A soft voice asked as Sharon jerked his head towards the sound.

Confusion took over until he felt the aura of something he had only heard legends of.

'Dragon God!' He thought as a young girl approached him.

The girl looked no older than 12 years old, wearing a gothic lolita outfit. Her emotionless eyes peered into Sharon's golden ones until she was less than a meter away from him.

"Do you desire power?" She asked again as Sharon had a confused, yet surprised expression. He nodded as his fists were clenched tightly, hoping she would offer him some way to grow stronger.

"Hmm, what can you offer me if I help you?" She asked calmly as she slightly tilted her head to the side.

'Offer? What can I offer?' Sharon questioned internally as he blankly stared at her.

She returned his blank stare with an emotionless one of her own.

"I have nothing. Everything was taken from me. What could I possibly offer?" He asked as his body couldn't help but slightly shiver. The feeling of weakness once again washed over him.

Moments of silence passed until the girl said, "I will help you start the process of gaining strength as a dragon. When you reach the level of a Heavenly Dragon ... you'll help me kill Great Red."

Sharon's mind went blank as he heard something he had never even expected.

'Kill Great Red? The Apocalypse Dragon? Me??' He thought as he was frozen in fear.

"Y-you want me to kill a True Dragon?" He asked with a stutter, purely from the innate fear he was experiencing.

"Yes." She replied with little to no emotion, only leaving Sharon even more worried for his future.

Feeling he had no other option, he looked the girl in the eye and nodded, "I'll accept your terms."

A small smile appeared on her face before a small black snake-like shadowy figure appeared around her finger.

It danced around her fingers before glancing at Sharon and launching itself into his chest.

'Why does this feel so familiar?' He wondered as the girl looked at his golden eyes, which were faintly glowing.

'His potential is immense ... even higher than that of the Red and White Emperors! If he can reach the level of a High Class Dragon in less than 10 years, ... I'll choose him as my mate.' The girl thought to herself.

"Can I ask why you want to kill Great Red?" Sharon asked, not knowing what she was thinking about, as the girl responded, "The Dimensional Gap ... I want to return to my home."

"I see." Sharon responded as he felt an unknown feeling of helplessness and sadness radiate off the young girl. It resonated with the despair and helplessness he had felt when he was forced to run away from his own village.

"Follow me, I will teach you for one week." The young girl said as Sharon nodded and followed.

"Um ... I'm Sharon Savant, from the Savant Dragonkin clan. What's your name?" Sharon asked as he remembered that he had yet to ask her name.

"Ophis." She replied monotonously as she kept walking deeper into the forest.

'Ophis, The Ouroboros Dragon!' Sharon realized as he noticed her slowing down.

"First off all, ... why do you want power?" Ophis asked as Sharon replied with a straightforward expression. "To protect those close to me, and never lose anything again."

"I see ..." Ophis muttered as Sharon felt something within him rising.

"Wh-what is this?" Sharon muttered, as Ophis turned to face him.

"That was the first step in attaining power as a dragon. Dragons are creatures that have immense desires. The first thing a dragon does on its path to becoming stronger is identifying its desires." Ophis explained as Sharon nodded along, remembering the legends that had been passed down among his clans-people.

A reddish-black aura began to rise from Sharon's body as he immediately dropped to the floor and moved into a cross-legged position. He closed his eyes as he felt the energy in his body growing and reshaping itself.

Ophis stared blankly as she slowly nodded, showing her approval, 'It seems his potential is even higher than I expected.' Ophis focused on the aura surrounding Sharon as a hint of shock struck her.

'Will he need to purify his aura at such an early state?' She wondered as she walked closer towards Sharon and reached towards the reddish-black aura.

Her hand passed through it as she felt no resistance, leaving her a bit confused. She shook her head as she just sighed and backed up.

The aura surrounding Sharon began to condense within his body as blood slowly leaked from his eyes, ears, and nostrils. Immense amounts of pain surged through his body as he clenched his teeth and continued to condense the aura.

"This must be so hard, maybe you should give up," an unfamiliar voice said as Sharon's eyes jerked open and glanced around. Much to his surprise, aside from Ophis, no one was there.

"Isn't everyone dead? Why are you trying so hard? You can't beat the Fallen Angels who killed the Savant clan, so why suffer so much?" The voice spoke again.

'Why am I trying so hard? Why do I put up with this kind of pain?' Sharon asked himself internally as he felt the pain slowly dissipating.

"Family. I want people who will stand by me, people who will follow me regardless of where I'm going. People who I can trust my back to. A family ... like mom was to dad." Sharon muttered as the reddish-black aura began to change gradually.

(A.N: Did this sound too cringy?)

The strands of black began to disappear as the red aura became increasingly violent. It surged out rampantly as it broke through the control Sharon had established through condensing it earlier.

Insane amounts of pain radiated through his body, forcing him to scream. He could no longer hold it back by clenching his teeth.

"An impure bloodline. Have none of the dragonkin become a dragon in the last millennia?" Ophis wondered as she seemed lost in thought.

Sharon's screams of pain were muffled as he tore the shirt off his body and stuffed it into his mouth. He bit down on the rolled up shirt and once again began condensing the aura.

Seeing the dedication and drive Sharon put forth, Ophis had decided. "From this point onwards ... we're mates." Ophis said as she approached Sharon and removed the rolled up shirt in his mouth.

Flashes of confusion appeared on Sharon's face as Ophis' face was less than a few centimeters from his face.

He could see her cherry-red lips approaching his as he held back the pain he was enduring.

'Wh-what is she doing? And mates?' Sharon wondered as she bit her own lips, drawing blood and kissed Sharon.

'My first kiss ... and I can barely feel it with all this pain!' Sharon screamed internally.

That was the 2nd chapter, and honestly, I'm enjoying writing this fanfic. I hope you like reading it!

I've decided to try and post a chapter every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, but unfortunately, I can't guarantee that. Regardless, the Monday and Friday chapters I can guarantee.
