Chapter 26

It was a bit annoying to Hakai that Sanji obviously cared about Makino's and Kaya's food more than his indicated by the difference in taste of their steak.

He was a dragon and becoming a dragon, he didn't like people ignoring him, but while he was annoyed, he wasn't going to act upon it since there was nothing to gain except maybe better food.

After the 3 finished eating, Hakai paid for their orders. Hakai stood up along with the 2 girls and made their way to the restaurant's exit.

"Ah, wait!" Sanji yelled out, blocking their way to the exit. "Before you guys leave can I have the name of you 2?"

"Tsk." Hakai was really annoyed now. He let out a lot of killing intent and bloodlust, scaring everyone in the restaurant and even attracting the attention of Zeff, the head chef and former pirate.

Sanji though, distracted by the women didn't even notice Hakai releasing his bloodlust and killing intent.

"Sanji, that's enough!" Zeff yelled out, alarmed by Hakai's killing intent. He walked up to Sanji and bowed, forcing Sanji to bow too as he dragged him to the kitchen.

"What's the big deal, old man?" Sanji asked.

"Stupid boy. If I didn't drag you here you might've died. You should know who you can mess with and you should not mess with that guy. Jeez... This really is the age of pirates."

Leaving the restaurant, the marine captain that had been watching them got up as his den-den mushi got a call.

"Reinforcements have arrived. There are about 5 ships. Good luck."

Making their way onto the ship, Hakai spotted 5 marine ships in the distance, quickly closing in.

Makino spotted them too, as she used her hands to block the bright sun. "Marines..."

Hakai pulled out his sword from his dimensional storage, getting ready to fight. "Makino, set sails for the Conomi Islands and then get ready to fight. Kaya, you too."

Makino and Kaya nodded as they got to work. Makino made her way to the ship's wheel, angling the ship to the right direction and setting the sails to the right angle.

Kaya did a small prayer so that everyone would be safe and grabbed the small knife that was dangling from her neck.

"Kaya, grab onto me," Hakai said to Kaya.

Kaya did what she was told and wrapped her arms around him, grabbing onto him tightly.

"Yosh, let's go." Hakai jumped off the ship as large wings sprouted from his back.

Kaya was startled by the wings having never seen them before. She also still didn't know that Hakai was a dragon.

Hakai used his wings which were much larger than his body to glide to the marine ships.

"I'm going to throw you, ok? Use your scythe's powers to cushion the landing."

Kaya nodded smiling as she was both excited and scared. "Ok!"

Hakai threw her to one of the marine ships as he landed on a different one.

Kaya firmly gripped the small knife as its form changed into a sleek, black scythe.

Using the energy of the souls that were captured by the scythe, a black aura surrounded her. She stopped a couple feet away from hitting the ship decks as she levitated in the sky.

"Get her!" the captain ordered.

A couple basic marine footsoldiers charged at Kaya, but being a woman, they clearly underestimated her which would be their mistake.

Setting herself on the ground, she used her scythe to decapitate one of the soldiers that were charging at her, causing the other soldiers to back away.

"Rise..."

The headless body of the marine soldier started releasing a black aura as it got up and grabbed its weapon.

"Attack them."

The marine which was now a zombie only needed those simple commands as it charged at one of its comrades and attacked them.

Kaya began killing more and more, turning them into zombies also and then those zombies started overwhelming the soldiers and finally started killing some of them which were turned into zombies by Kaya.

As she fought the soldiers, a marine gunner managed to catch her off guard and shoot her leg causing her to stumble.

The zombies immediately changed their focus to the gunner, killing them soon after.

Kaya groaned in pain as she fell on the ground. She ordered one of the zombies to come to her as she got an idea.

Placing her hand on the zombie, she began absorbing the energy that was keeping the zombie alive and using it to heal the bullet wound that she had gotten.

After a few seconds, the bullet wound was healed. There wasn't even a scar, and it didn't look like Kaya had been shot.

The zombie, having had its energy absorbed and used to heal Kaya, fell to the ground and turned into a pile of black dust.

The captain of the ship kept fighting despite seeing his men die and turn into zombies for Kaya to control. "Keep fighting! If we die, we die. That's just the nature of the world."

As Kaya was about to completely wipe out the ship, she remembered something that Hakai told her, 'Let the weakest live.'

"Don't kill that guy. Focus on the captain," she ordered the zombies.

The zombies got to work and quickly overwhelmed the captain by their numbers.

Meanwhile, on the Dragon Pirates's ship, a man tried attacking Makino, but she dodged and kicked him in the family jewels.

"Think I'm dumb?" Makino laughed as the silver rings that were on her hands changed into a pair of gauntlets. "I'll say this. The moment you chose to mess with us, you were already dead."
