Chapter 21

Looking at his rewards, Hakai raised his eyebrow when he saw [Craftsmanship Magic].

[Craftsmanship Magic]

[Description:] Grants the user the ability to use magic to enhance their creation by adding a special effect. This is done through a variety of ways either by a chant, or magical inscribing on the item.

'Hmm, interesting. So it's kind of like enchanting and I assume I can add magical effects.'

Grabbing the finished katana, Hakai admired his creation. It would've been easier to create it with a hammer instead of using his fist, but it wasn't that hard with his vast knowledge of forging since he had access to a variety of crafting techniques, a lot of them being a bit weird.

(AN: Click here for what the sword looks like)

Although he had just received the skill, it felt like second nature to him as he used it on the katana. He felt draconic energy being drained from him as it went into the katana. Now was the next step, he had to name the effect.

"Consume the light, and become my darkness!"

The katana started releasing a dark aura as the effect finalized. It actually didn't matter what Hakai said. He just had to think of what kind of special effect he wanted and say something that correlated to it and the skill would do the rest. Of course, there were limits on what effects he could have. He couldn't just enhance the katana so it could cut through anything, although it might be possible in the future.

Swinging the sword around, Hakai was glad that it did exactly what he wanted it to do. While it was already dark out, using the sword's effect, the sword absorbed all the light in the area, making it almost impossible to see, but that's not all. It also attacked the opponent's senses, making it harder to hear, smell, or feel anything. It even affected observation haki, but not completely meaning if someone was proficient enough with observation haki, they would be fine and not be hindered by the effects of the sword.

Hakai enchanted the sword a few more times, increasing the sword's sharpness, and durability. He even added a self-cleaning function and self-sharpening function for ease of use which meant the blade of the sword would always be sharp, and never dull. It would also never get dirty.

"Great! Let me just make one more thing before I head back."

The next morning, Hakai, Makino, and Kaya were getting ready to resume their journey and go to the floating restaurant Baratie.

Hakai helped Kaya with her stuff, and resupplied their food, water, and materials and then they were off to sea.

"Goodbye Miss Kaya! Come back safe!" the butlers yelled as they waved goodbye.

"Bye everyone! I'll make sure to stay safe!" Kaya yelled out.

Leaving the island and setting course for Baratie, Hakai sat down by the Smeltery, holding a black hammer that he made last night.

"That looks fancy," Makino said, admiring the sword that Hakai made.

Hakai smiled. "It definitely is and it's strong too."

The sword was definitely strong and much better when compared to the basic katana that the system have him. Hakai hadn't tested it thoroughly but he was pretty sure that it could compete with Supreme Grade swords like Mihawk's sword and Whitebeard's naginata.

The sword was actually much longer than a katana, so it should really be called a nodachi, which is a bigger katana.

Being bigger than his last sword, Hakai's range grew and while he hadn't fully tested his max range, Hakai guessed that his new range with his new sword was at least several kilometers.

"Does it have a name?" Makino asked.

Hakai paused, looking at the sword in its sheath. "I think I'll name it... Kyo."

(AN: Kyo means Void!)

"Kyo, that's a cool name," Makino said. "What else are you making?"

"Well I was thinking of making weapons for both of you. Gauntlets for you, and a polearm or something similar for Kaya."

Gauntlets for Makino because she fought with her fists, and a polearm for Kaya because when they were testing out what weapons Kaya was compatible with, she was a good fit for polearms.

Polearms are also good for defending because of their big range making it hard for anyone to close in unless they were experienced with fighting against one.

Hakai called Kaya over to the smeltery to ask her a question.

"What do you think of a scythe, Kaya? You'll be like an angel of death, capable of giving life, but also taking one."

Kaya having a scythe was ironic since she was planning to be a doctor, and a scythe was the weapon of the grim reaper.

(AN: Short chapter today. Sorry, but if you give me more stones then I'll make sure to write a longer one tomorrow!)
