Chapter 31- Surprise Action

Isaac finally made it on top of the hill where Team Even's wrecked home base was located. Isaac saw the white flag standing next to the house so he quickly ran towards it. He did not care about the Defender's whereabouts or if there was a trap. He saw the flag and he took it. That alone matters to him at the moment. After picking up the flag with his left arm it immediately fell off his body.

SWOOOOOOOOOSH!

Isaac's left hand got slashed off. A short orange-haired man in a yellow kimono appeared behind Isaac with a sword in hand. "AAAAH! SHIT!" Isaac shouted. Purple threads appeared between Isaac's shoulder and his left arm on the floor. The thread pulled Isaac's hand forward and reattached his arm with little difficulty. His hand may have been reattached but he won't be able to control it properly for a couple of minutes. "You're Helius. I find it crazy how you're on defense instead of offense. King Almon must have something against you" said Isaac. Isaac looked at Helius's long blade and sighed. Uranus exited the house to see Isaac and Helius next to the flag.

"Helius, don't waste your time. Kill him if you wish" Uranus stated.

Isaac gave him the middle finger then picked up back the flag. "I hear that Defenders can't go far from their home base. So what if I give this flag a good tossing? You'd be useless" Isaac smirked.

"No, wherever the flag is, that is considered as a home base so I wouldn't be stuck here" Helius responded.

SWOOOOOOOOOSH!

This time both of Isaac's arms were gone. He sighed and said "You win, I give up. Just don't let me die from blood loss. That would be lame". Isaac could easily reattach any body part that was sliced off but there is a drawback. It will take some time to fully operate that body part again. Helius was by far the worst match-up for someone like him. Isaac could hardly react to any of Helius's slash.

One drone swooped down and announced Isaac's elimination. "Isaac conceded. He is no longer a part of this round" it stated. "Shame, I was hoping to see how durable your red threads were," Helius said swing his sword downwards. URANUS was overjoyed to see Isaac eliminated he shared the news with his teammates. "Isaac, their fighter is eliminated. Good work"

"We'll never find out now will we, I only came here to be a distraction so… I hope I did well" Isaac grinned as he looked over to where the flag was. Uranus and Helius looked on the floor and became speechless. The flag was nowhere to be seen. "URANUS!" Helius shouted. Uranus nodded and immediately began using his gift. He linked his vision with the person closest to them which happened to be Joey. Joey had the white flag in his hand running at full speed.

"What!? Joey's gift is to make every sound he makes low no matter how loud. How did he steal the flag under my nose" Uranus said shockingly. Uranus has been keeping tabs on Joey for the entire day. The last time Uranus checked on him he was at the beach kicking sand and that was minutes ago. Uranus used his gift again and saw that he was not mistaken. A Joey was indeed at the beach. "There are two Joeys! One of them hid their presence somehow" Uranus said depressed. He fell on his knees in sorrow. For as long as he lived Uranus rarely got surprised by anyone. He always knew that a person was approaching him or his area long before anyone else realizes. This moment was a painful reminder that his gift is not perfect. He thought he was seeing through the right Joey but did not consider a clone.

"Joey hid his true skills in the first round. That's the only explanation I have. He is the perfect Roamer. Now none of us can take the flag from him" Uranus sighed. Helius gave chase to Joey making sure not to attack but to at least keep him in sight. Over on Team Odd's hill, Cj had a wide grin on his face when staring at his phone. Fei asked curiously "What is it? You look happy".

Cj cleared his throat and put his phone away. "Isaac did it. He made Helius and Uranus take their eyes off the flag for one second. That gave Joey the chance to steal it. Hehehehehe, see Uranus is not that great. He overheard my plans to let Isaac and Alisa distract them for Joey to steal the flag. I know he heard me when I said those words. Even with knowing what we were going to do it still happened anyway. Such a fool that guy is" said Cj harshly. Uranus heard every word spoken by Cj.

"Shit head! MAX! XAVIER! ODEN! VICTOR!" Uranus shouted telepathically.

"YES!" they all replied.

"Overpower them and take the flag now. Joey the Roamer has our flag. I'm sorry but we have to crush them" Uranus ordered.

Victor's corpse in front of Terry and Lethal turned into dust and withered away without an explanation. Xavier was close by and witnessed the events that took place. He wanted to stop the two from advancing but he knew he was too weak. "My gift did not work on them. Definitely because of that assassin bitch. If only I could kill her somehow" Xavier thought to himself. As he watched her walk from in the bushes an idea came to mind. "Who knows how long Victor will take to get here again. He takes at least three minutes to revive again and he's the best chance we've got to get the flag. These two have to get eliminated somehow. If I can hold them out long enough for Victor to get here that should do the trick" he thought. He stepped out of his hiding spot and called out to his foes.

"Terry, Lethal" he called out.

The two turned around unsurprised by his appearance. It was like they knew he was hiding in the bushes all along. "There's no use in trying your gift with us again. It won't work" Terry said confidently.

"Hehehe, You sure? I made your teammate Alisa fall for my trick even though she was very cautious of me" Xavier bragged.

Lethal pulled out a handgun and aimed it straight at Xavier's head.

"WOW! HEY!" Xavier screamed. He went on his knees and begged for mercy. "There is no need to kill all the time. I know there is no rule about killing in this competition but still" Xavier pleaded. Terry asked, "Why did you come out if you aren't ready to fight?"

"No reason really. Uranus just ordered me to. That's all" Xavier replied with sweats dripping from his chin. Terry and Lethal ignored Xavier's presence and continued onwards towards Team Even's hill. The fact that they are still heading toward Team Even's base instead of running back to defend their flag means Lethal and Terry do not know they have the flag. Cj could communicate that news to them any second now. Xavier ran and held on to Lethal to buy some more time for Victor to arrive. Lethal was about to take out her gun once more but Terry stopped her in her tracks. Terry slammed his elbow on Xavier's arm breaking it.

"What's your deal dude?" Terry asked annoyed.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!" Xavier screamed.

Terry kicked Xavier away from Lethal and proceeded to stomp on Xavier's chest repeatedly. While doing so a black-haired man with piercing eyes fell from the sky and landed on the ground smoothly. He barely made a sound when landing. The man was no other than Victor, the immortal beast that keeps on coming back. "I'd like to see you try to kill me now" Victor giggled. He took one step and the earth shook under everyone's feet. Trees started leaning on one another and everyone's face landed on the ground. Victor looked at Lethal with an annoyed look on his face. He clasp his hand together and a strong wind pressure erupted out of nowhere. Leaves from the trees started swirling into the air almost covering Lethal's vision. They watched Victor showing off his improved abilities. "You have more control and awareness of your gifts. Is that all?" Terry remarked. As soon as he finished his question Victor was suddenly before him. They looked at each other in the eyes. Terry was shocked by quickly the gap was closed. Victor wanted to see the look of fear in Terry's eyes for witnessing his speed but it failed.

"That's a shame. I wanted to you be more scared than that" Victor said disappointedly.

He looked at everyone around him and could not help but grin. Xavier took couple of steps back and gave Victor all the space he needed. "I can't see myself dying again. I just can't. Right now it is no exaggeration to say I am the strongest being currently even when I am holding back" Victor said strongly. Victor sent three consecutive punches in Terry's stomach and he was knocked out in an instant. "That sword of yours is useless if I attack you without my gift. Idiot" Victor said. He looked over at Lethal who was starting to run away. Lethal's sword Sizimuchi appeared in her hand the instant Victor grabbed a hold of her. He punched the sword snapping it in two then proceeded to drag Lethal by her ears. "He literally snaps my best weapon in two. That doesn't even make sense" she thought to herself. She managed to break free of Victor's gift the second he eased up. While she was running she chanted and equipped a rope. Lethal was skeptical about getting a rope but she has full trust in her gift. "It never fails me yet," Lethal said. The ground shook causing Lethal to fall on her face. Victor glided with the strong wind and took the skies. He flew above Lethal. There was no hope of Lethal catching Victor with that rope while he was in the sky. "I see, I must have gotten this rope for another reason," she said curiously. Victor dashed towards her and knocked her out cold in a single blow. It happened so fast Lethal could not have reacted in time. The drones nearby saw the events and announced "Lethal Sniper and Terry Oda are now eliminated. Only four members remain in Team Odds".

Almost every member of the Golden Circle glared at Victor for his incredible strength. Everyone inside the private room hate to admit it but they knew Victor is a threat to society. Being able to come back from the dead time and time again. The power to get stronger each and every time is nothing to laugh about. King Almon asked "Who's the one who entered this candidate? This man is definitely one of my prey"

A short woman, short enough to be in grade school in a pink dress raised her hand. The woman was the embodiment of the word cute. Her gorgeous grey eyes, her short and smooth brown hair along her small body made it impossible for people to stay mad at her. Even though the woman will be thirty years old this year she still looks like a child. Her name is Melissa Harris. "Ah, that's a shocker. What relationship does a cutie like you have with a man like Victor?" asked Almon. The other members were certainly curiously so they stared at Melissa.

Melissa blushed as she replied, "Nothing, he is my first and last crush but I am afraid he is already married. I am sure he wouldn't let go of his wife to be with someone like me. A person who looks so young".

When Cj heard that Lethal and Terry were knocked out he began to feel frustrated. All of his offensive members are now eliminated without warning. A full moon came up and Cj started to worry about Joey. "If he doesn't arrive by morning it's safe to say he's lost. Jeez, Cj said. Fei is the only person who knows the forest well enough to travel in it during night time.

"Can't believe those two got eliminated so suddenly. Here I thought we had the upper hand" said Fei.

Cj pinched Fei's cheek and told him "We have their flag, they don't. All we have to do is defend ours like with everything we can muster. And the enemy is tricked in a way. You'll soon find out what I mean". Fei's heart began racing when his mind jumped on Sue's condition. "Giving everything I have in this round even though my sister's death is almost assured," said Fei out loud.

"Your top priority is to help me out. I will win the Dragon's potion. No question" Cj said.

Meanwhile, Joey was lost in the forest. He tried his best to find his way in the dark by communicating with his dabble ganger or otherwise known as Clone Joey. Helius was behind him all the way. He made sure to stay on Joey's tail. Joey asked Helius "Do you know where I should go from here?"

"Why waste time asking? I would never tell you" Helius responded.
