Reaching the base.

Inside a blank room, a group of people sat on a round table, In front of them stood Dina.

"Sergeant Dina reporting!" She shouted as she saluted them.

"What did you find in yesterday's Investigation, not everything was written in the report, was it? One of them questioned." they all looked toward her, she dropped the formality, dropping herself on a chair that was just behind her.

"I guess this room isn't monitored? I can act freely don't I?" She asked, her attitude changed as she looked at them.

One of them snorted, "Not as if you aren't doing just that! Now tell us, what is the part you're hiding?" The entire table went silent as said that, you could even hear the clock ticking on the wall.

"The victim we rescued, he has potential!" Dina said with a grin, slightly touching her forehead.

They were puzzled, this is Dina Rambo, she thinks he has potential? This never happened before.

"What makes you think that? In the report, everything seemed normal!" One of them replied, putting down the paper on the table, pushing toward Dina.

That report was just something to submit to the government, It didn't have the full details, nor did the military intend to report about anything. The people at the table knew that what they asked for is if what was written in the report is completely a lie or had some truth.

Dina brushed the papers away, "Everything is right, except..." Dina started explaining.

She did in fact restrain Simon Rotgar, but in the report, she didn't say how! when she first spotted him, he was beside the window on the second floor of his house, she was on the ground.

As she glared at him she was taken by one feeling, a great sense of danger, for her that was rare, It was as if staring at a wild beast, no the closed resemblance was facing an armed man while been barehanded.

Taken by that feeling, she immediately used her ability to restrain him as fast as she could!

"You used your ability? That was supposed to be a secret, a trump card!" One of them shouted angrily, hitting the table with full force.

"This is just the start, listen to what I saw next!" Lisa said smiling as she was a kid who just got a new toy.

The moment she restrained him something strange happened right in front of her eyes, Simon had a shortsword strapped to his waist, after dropping she reached to disarm him but to her surprise, the weapon had disappeared.

"I don't know what kind of ability he has but if he can hide that huge sword I bet we could find a use for him!" Dina was excited, this was the first time in years that another ability holder fell into the military hands.

"So the talk about his failing the Esper university was a lie you put in the report?" One asked.

"So we don't know even if he was involved or not? Why did you set him free?" Another one shouted.

"Shut up, old man! It's bad for your health!" Dina snorted right in front of their faces, not caring for rank or whatever, the situation seemed to be more complex than it looks!

"The papers from the Esper university were legit, he definitely was there and failed! But on the other hand, he definitely has an Ability and shouldn't have failed!!"

"To me, this seems as if it was all plotted by the Esper university! Simon Rotgar is just a spy they sent to infiltrate the military!" One of them said... They all started whispering about what happened, just the idea of the esper university being involved was a headache.

Dina then disclosed why she believed Simon to be innocent, While he was waiting in the truck, they have gone and checked the graves Simon had made as his story didn't make any sense. They definitely contained his family, nine out of ten had bodies, the last one was empty.

To her, Simon wasn't lying! He did in fact fail the exam and wasn't at the sight at the time of the massacre. But he had an ability that the Esper university didn't detect and is wanting to join the military! This was their chance to get another strong soldier.

"He still hasn't served his two years, get him starting right away!" Dina said as she stood up.

"Even for us, It will be hard to just send someone to service, it usually takes one to two months of preparation! How about the military school? Won't that be better?" one of the men replied. Dina smiled at his answer, "Even better! Get everything ready for him!" Dina exited the room immediately, didn't even care to say goodbye!

"Damn it! What's wrong with that woman? Were generals here and she is just a sergeant!" One of them complained, leaning back on his chair.

"What could we do? Detain one of the military strongest soldiers? Teleporter Dina is one, if not our best!" Another replied to him.

"He is right, even we could be replaced but not her!" Another confirmed, they all sighed in unison.

The trip to the military base was a bit long and boring, Simon spent chatting with soldiers about day-to-day life. After arriving he was put in a temporary cell to wait for the hire-up decision, he expected a lengthy trail as Dina's last words were..." I will make them release you even if it meant wiping the floor with those old farts!" This made Simon extremely worried.

It took the whole night for Dina to return, "Yo! Got you a ticket to the military school!" This wasn't what Simon was expecting, he looked at Dina in disbelief.

Dina opened his cell and entered with him, "I will be straight with you!" She said with a serious face. "I know you have an ability! Or let's say me and the higher up! How did you make that sword disappear?" Dina asked, Simon, froze in place like a statue.

Squeezing his brain, Simon thought about how to answer, making a mistake now can cause him a life sentence! After careful thought, and making Dina awkwardly wait for about a minute he answered "I have an ability to store things up to a weight limit! Blue type mana user!"

"Hemph!" Dina gave him a suspicious look "Well doesn't matter, look!" As she said she disappeared from Simon's field of view.

"Right here!" Simon felt a hand patting him on the back, He instinctively reacted with a punch, Dina was able to parry that with a smile.

"Dina the teleporter, I can teleport, this is my ability!" She said it was at this point that Simon noticed, no guards were in sight, It appeared as if Dina reserved this place so no one can hear them.

by opening his hand, the short sword appeared out of thin air. Dina seemed surprised to see it happen in front of her.

"We even now?" Simon asked as if he wanted to finish this conversation, he was getting restless as he wanted to finish his daily quests for this day.

It was at that point that Dina reached to her pocket, she took a small rectangle object, and handed it over to Simon, It was a communication device.

Military school can be full of bullying. if he was to ever be bullied he should call her, she then would contact the school and have them intervene.

"You will leave this evening until that time I will give you a tour around the place as I seem to have empty time!" Dina said, definitely lying, it was apparent in her face that even Simon could tell, she is slacking!

As they exited Simon took a look at his daily quests

---------------------------

[Daily quests: Level 2] (Reward upon finishing all the daily quests...2 stat points+ Rank F dungeon key)

Run for 10 minutes...Unfinished (Reward 5 Exp)

Win a fight...Unfinished (Reward 5 Exp)

Eat one kilogram of meat… Unfinished (Reward 5 Exp)

Lose a fight… Unfinished (Reward 5 Exp)

-----------------------------

Two of the quests seem contradictory! What is this a game? How do you expect me to win and lose a fight on the same day? I could run for 10 minutes and eating a kilogram of meat is only a problem of getting said meat.

Dina noticed Simon acting weird, as she was about to ask him they were interrupted by a soldier saluting Dina.

"Sergeant Dina! Were about start the training and are waiting for you!" This is what Dina didn't want to do, their fights are usually boring, uninteresting to her.

"Care if I joined you?" Simon suggested, he was thinking it's a good chance to finish the first daily quest, The soldier didn't seem to mind, Even Dina this was interesting to her, she wanted to see what kind of danger Simon posed!

"Come on!" The soldier poked Simon in the arm as he started running ahead. With that Simon followed him, hoping he can put on a good display!
