Regulus was amazed with his stats growth so far. Just one more level up, and he was sure that he could bite through a crayfish's hard exoskeleton.
"I'll forget the trout nest. Eating algae is the way to go."
Regulus swam around freely. His body was already big enough for the trouts to not see him as food.
"Hey, Mr. Trout. What'cha doing?"
Regulus swam beside a trout and asked him teasingly.
The trout stopped and turned its head to Regulus and stared at him.
"W-What? You can't eat me now!"
Regulus was nervous as he looked at the trout. After all, he still had PTSD when one swam after him.
The trout released a mouthful of water in its mouth as if it was snorting before swimming away and leaving Regulus behind.
"Did it just snort at me?"
Regulus watched the trout leaving with incredulity on his face. He never thought that a fish could offend him.
"Hmph! I'll follow you!"
Regulus followed the trout in annoyance. He followed behind it slowly. He used the grass bundles along the way to hide from its vision.
After following it for a while, the trout turned around. Responding to it, Regulus hid behind a grass bundle. The trout scanned the area around him before turning around and swimming towards a hidden shallow area.
"Hm?"
Regulus immediately became suspicious of the trout. He then followed after it with more care than before.
"It's a dead-end in there?"
Regulus murmured to himself, and instead of entering the area, he waited inside a grass bundle. In his boredom, he counted the scales on his skin.
"...541, 542, 543… oh"
After waiting for a while, the trout left.
"It's time! I wonder what that trout is hiding in there."
But just as Regulus was swimming towards the shallow waters, he noticed another trout leaving the area.
"Huh? There was another one."
Regulus was surprised. He got lucky that they came out at the same time. He hid behind the grass bundle again and waited for the other trout to disappear.
"Hehehe. Were they actually a couple? Is this the trout nest?"
Regulus speculated to himself. He then swam inside it. What he saw inside, shocked him.
"S-So many…"
Regulus looked at the orange balls lying at the bottom of the shallow water. There were so many fish eggs.
"This is the trout nest isn't it!?"
Regulus exclaimed in excitement.

Alteria's cold and monotone voice sounded.
"H-Hey! I was just confirming it."
Regulus replied in annoyance.
"I better eat one already…"
Regulus murmured to himself. He then swam in front of the eggs.
"T-They look cute…"
Regulus suddenly felt like he was seeing children in front of him. In fact, he was, but he was feeling an emotion he should only have for human children.
The eggs were still not on the verge of hatching, and they all looked like orange balls with black dots inside them.
"No, no, no! I'm not supposed to feel sympathy for fish! I'm a fisherman."
Regulus shook the thought out of his head.
"Anyway… I'll try to eat one."
Regulus approached one egg and put it inside his mouth.
"Here we go… *Munch*. Mmm!! It tastes delicious! Is this what they call caviar?"
Regulus wondered to himself. He took another one inside his mouth and ate it.
He continued eating more until he was full.
"Hahh… Did I complete the special mission?"
Regulus sank to the bottom of the shallow water in satisfaction.

By spending Evolution Points(EP), the host would be able to evolve to another species while keeping his current level. The stats would also be resized to match the stats of the evolved creature according to the level of the host.]
