MASTER ROSHI VS SHALLOT

Shallot and Roshi both stay perfectly still in a fighting stance as everyone watches.

"Are you guys sure about this?" Bulma asks.

Yamcha and Krillin don't answer and just watches on in silence.

"Great, looks like those two ain't talking. Hey Bulma, I got five bucks on the kid." Oolong jokingly says.

At that moment, in a split second, Roshi charges at Shallot. The young Saiyan goes for a punch, but the old master ducks it and goes for a high knee to the chin. Shallot jumps out of the way and backflips to gain some distance. Roshi easily closes the distance between them and goes for a chop. Shallot then vanishes, surprising Roshi.

Bulma and Oolong look on in shock as Krillin and Yamcha are quietly amazed.

"Wow, those two aren't holding anything back." Bulma says.

"Nope, doesn't look like it." Oolong replies.

Roshi closes his eyes, trying to sense where Shallot is. The Saiyan then appears behind him and throws a punch, but Roshi dodges, shocking Shallot. Roshi follows up with an elbow to his face, knocking him back.

Shallot wipes the blood from his mouth and smiles.

"Not bad. You surprised me with that last attack. Tell me- you can somehow sense my movements, can't you?"

"More like your energy, my boy."

Roshi laughs as Shallot chuckles to himself.

"Sensing others power levels without a scouter. That could come in handy." Shallot thinks to himself.

Roshi then takes another fighting stance.

"Are you ready to go again?" Roshi asks.

Shallot takes a fighting stance of his own.

"Ready when you are."

The two have a stand down as Bulma and the others watch in amazement at how good these two are. Roshi then runs at Shallot and throws a strike at him, but Shallot jumps in the air to avoid it. Roshi effortlessly back flips into the air and goes for a sidekick. Shallot quickly blocks it and grabs him by the leg. He then spins the old man around and throws him to the ground. Roshi lands on his feet, sliding across the ground as Shallot dashes at him quickly.

Shallot lands a knee strike in Roshi's gut, knocking him to the ground. Roshi slowly sits up, clutching his gut.

"Not a bad move, Shallot. That one stung a bit."

Roshi stands up as Shallot smiles.

"Maybe now, you'll stop holding back." Shallot says.

Roshi smirks.

"I was going to say the same to you, kid."

The two chuckle to each other as Yamcha gets frustrated.

"Damn it. They've been holding back this entire time." He says.

"Now things are about to get serious." Krillin says.

The two then charge at each other. Shallot throws a kick at Roshi's head, but the turtle hermit blocks and throws a punch back. Shallot ducks, quickly going for a leg sweep that Roshi avoids. Both fighters throw quick and fast pace strikes at each other, with both of them either dodging or blocking.

Roshi then lands a palm strike in Shallots chest, knocking him back a little. The old master goes for a kick, but Shallot quickly avoids it, jumps into the air and kicks Roshi in the jaw, sending him flying. Roshi quickly recovers, landing on his feet and charging at the young saiyan.

The hermit throws multiple punches, kicks, and chops, with Shallot avoiding each one. Shallot then catches a punch and kicks Roshi in the gut. Roshi stumbles a bit, but counters with a knee to his gut. Shallot quickly recovers and he counters with a punch to his face. The two keep landing strikes on each other, each one stronger than the last.

The two then take a few steps back, both are bruised and bloody. Roshi is obviously more exhausted than Shallot, as he breaths heavily.

"Woah, Roshi looks exhausted." Bulma says.

"Yeah, he wasn't kidding about getting old. Guys going up against the kid, whose like a tank." Oolong adds.

"The pigs got a point, Master Roshi was winded by one Kamehameha wave. Meanwhile Shallot was able to do it multiple times without a problem. Shallot doesn't have to win technically, he'll just have to outlast him."

Meanwhile as the two have a stand off, Roshi tries to think of a way to end this quickly. He realizes that he has no choice.

Roshi then concentrates for a moment, then vanishes. Shallot is caught off guard by this and looks around his surroundings. He then feels Roshi behind him and throws a quick punch behind him. He is caught even more off guard when it goes through Roshi and his Image slowly vanishes.

The Saiyan then turns around and sees Roshi charging up a Kamehameha wave.

"Ka! Me! Ha! Me!" Roshi yells as a large blue ki blast comes straight at Shallot.

Yamcha quickly grabs Bulma and Krillin grabs Oolong and move out of the way as they are standing behind Shallot. Everyone is then shocked as Shallot doesn't move even an inch.

"What the hell are you doing?! move out of the way, Shallot!" Bulma yells from Yamcha's arms.

The large Kamehameha hits Shallot head on, causing a massive explosion.

Roshi then drops to his knees, completely out of stamina. He then smiles as the smoke clears and he sees that Shallot withstood the blast with barely a scratch on him. Everyone are shocked by just how strong Shallot is.

"He actually took that without even blinking. How strong can one kid be?" Krillin says.

Shallot walks over to the exhausted master Roshi. He then bows to him out of respect.

"Thank you, master Roshi. You have helped me get closer to my goal. This battle was an absolute honor." Shallot says.

Roshi smiles.

"My pleasure, young man. You are one hell of a fighter."

He then turns to Krillin.

"Hey Krillin! Can you go get me a senzu bean please?"

Krillin nods and runs into the house, making Shallot curious. Soon, Krillin comes back, handing Roshi a green bean. The old master eats it and almost immediately recovers his stamina, shocking everyone.

"That's better." Roshi says with a smile.

Shallot is at a loss for words.

"How did you..."

"Now Shallot, I believe you have a wish to make." Roshi says with a smile.

Shallot thinks about it for a moment then smiles.

A few minutes later, Shallot and the others gather all the dragon balls together.

"So how does this work exactly? Is it like a special password or something?" Shallot asks.

"Welp, only one way to find out." Bulma says

She then clears her throat.

"ALL MIGHTY DRAGON! I SUMMON...THE?!" Bulma yells.

The dragon balls then start to light up and a flash of light shoots up into the sky. A large Dragon then appears infront of everyone.

"Woah... I don't know what I was expecting, but... it wasn't this." Oolong says.

"Yeah, no kidding." Yamcha adds.

"I am the eternal dragon! Speak your wish and I will grant it!" The dragon says.

"Go ahead Shallot, the wish is yours." Bulma says with a smile.

Shallot looks up at the dragon, then looks at his friends smiling at him. He then steps forward towards Shenron.

"Dragon-"

Shallot clenches his fists tightly.

"I want to see my family... one last time."

"As you wish. I can only bring them here for a few moments, so make it count."

A bright light then appears infront of him. After the light fades, Shallots eyes opens wide as he sees his family again. When he sees his mother, father, and older sister smiling at him, tears fall down his face and he runs into their arms. As Shallot cries in his parents arms, Bulma, Oolong, and even Yamcha are brought to tears.

"Yamcha, are you crying?" Paur asks.

Yamcha quickly wipes the tears away.

"What? No. I just have... dust in my eyes."

Shallots mother, Zysa, kneels down and puts her hands on Shallots face, with tears in her eyes.

"Oh, my sweet boy. I missed you so much."

Shallot smiles, still crying as his older sister, Hemoro, punches him in the arm with a smirk.

"We've been watching you kick ass. Not bad, runt."

Shallot smiles and punches her back.

"Thanks, idiot." Shallot replies.

Shallots father, Ruco, puts his hands on his sons shoulder.

"We are proud of you, my son. You are taking the Saiyan's on the path that we should have been on a long time ago."

Shallot smiles, but then thinks of a question to ask him.

"Are you all...you know."

Ruco stays silent for a moment.

"Your mother and sister are where they belong. So am I. I've done... a lot of bad things in the name of the Saiyan's. But that's what makes you better than us all. You were brave enough to be better."

Shallot grits his teeth as even more tears fall down his face.

"I swear to you all. I'll make Frieza pay for what he did to our race." Shallot declares.

A somber look appears on his parents face.

"I wish this burden didn't fall on your shoulders. But we all have faith in you, Shallot. You'll get stronger, and you'll kill Frieza." Ruco says.

As a determined smile appears on Shallots face, his family starts to fade.

"It looks like we are out of time." Zysa says.

"I have so much to say to you all. I wish things were different for us, that we could have lived in peace as people and not pillaging planets for Frieza. But what's done is done, I've accepted that now and moved on. I'll make decisions that'll honor your memory. I love you all...so much."

Shallot hugs his family one last time.

"Goodbye Shallot. No matter what, we'll always be with you." Shallots mother replies.

They then disappear as the dragon balls shoot up in the sky and scatter separately.

As everyone looks on at Shallot, worried about where he is mentally.

The young Saiyan wipes the tears away, then looks up at the sky and smiles, even more determined than he was before. Master Roshi smiles and turns to his house.

"Come on. Let's leave the kid alone for a moment."

Everyone goes inside Kame house while Bulma takes one last look at Shallot, and smiles.
