Goodbye... For Now
Both Goten and Goku stay up in the air after the Kamehameha they just fired to destroy Janemba.
"Is-Is it over?" Goten asks.
"Yeah...I think so." Goku replies.
Goten smiles.
"Awsome."
The two then drop to their base form's and fall out of the sky. As they sit on the ground, exhausted from the battle with Janemba. Goku looks over at Goten, putting his hand on his shoulder with a smile on his face.
"You've gotten really strong since the last time I saw you. I'm so proud of you, son." Goku says.
Goten smiles, filled with pride and happiness that his father has acknowledged him.
"Thanks."
At that moment Gohan, Vegeta, Bardock, Raditz, Trunks, and Bulla soon arrive, seeing how bad Goten's and Goku's conditions are. Bulla rushes over to Goten, kneels down and puts her hands on his face.
"Are you ok?" Bulla asks.
Goten looks into her eyes, smiles, then grabs her hand.
"I'm better now." Goten says, making Bulla blush.
Goku sees Goten and Bulla, being reminded of him and Chichi. At that moment, Vegeta offers his hand to his friend and rival.
"Don't get any ideas about those two, clown." Vegeta says with a smirk.
Goku chuckles, takes his hand and getting back to his feet. He then looks over and sees his father's injuries.
"Are you alright, dad?" Goku asks.
Bardock smirks.
"I'll live." Bardock replies.
"What about you, Kakarot?" Raditz asks.
Goku smiles.
"I'm great. It's been awhile since I've had a good fight like that one."
Both Goku and Goten turn to each other and chuckle, giving each other a thumbs up.
Meanwhile in the realm of the Kai's, as Supreme Kai and Kibito celebrate Goku's and Goten's victory, Elder Kai sighs, slowly stands up, and looks up with a smile.
"Well done, dimwit." Elder Kai says.
Later, as Chichi, Bulma, Vidal, and Gine sit around the house, they look out of the window and sees everyone flying in their direction. They all smile and run outside as they land infront of them. Chichi tackles Goten and Gohan, while Bulma tackles Trunks and Bulla, and Gine tackles Goku and Raditz.
"OUR BABIES!" the mothers yell.
Gine then looks up at Bardock, noticing that he's injured.
"Bardock, you're hurt." Gine says.
Bardock smiles.
"It's just a scratch. I'm fine, Gine." Bardock says, putting his hand on her face.
Goten then looks around, seeing his mother with her father, his uncle with his grandparents, Bulla and Trunks with Vegeta Bulma, and Gohan with Vidal, his friends and family all happy and laughing together. Goten smiles, wishing that this moment can last forever. But unfortunately it can't, as King Kai's voice comes through to everyone.
"Hey, can everyone hear me?" King Kai asks.
"Loud and clear King Kai." Goku answers.
"The Check in station has been rebuilt, all of the bad souls that belong in hell are finally put back there, including Janemba. I'm afraid- It's time to say your goodbyes, my friend." King Kai says.
Goku sighs with a smile on his face.
"Already? Kinda feels like we just got here." Goku says.
He then turns to his wife, with tears in her eyes, and hugs her.
"Don't cry, hunny. It's ok." Goku says.
"Oh Goku." Chichi replies.
Gine then grabs Chichi by the hands with tears in her eyes and a smile on her face.
"Thank you, Chichi... Thank you for loving my Kakarot." Gine replies.
Chichi smiles and nods, as the two share a hug. Goku then walks over to his oldest son and gives him a hug as well.
"Goodbye son."
Gohan smiles, hugging his father back.
"Goodbye, dad." Gohan says.
Then Goku looks over at his rival and friend, Vegeta. The two don't share words, just looks of mutual respect, admiration and friendship as Goku walks over to Goten. He puts his hand on his head, with a proud smile on his face.
"I can't believe how strong you've gotten. I am so proud of you, Goten... I wish I could stay and watch you grow." Goku says.
Goten just smiles.
"Don't worry, dad. I know this isn't goodbye forever." Goten says.
Goku is surprised by this.
"You said last time that you wouldn't see us again, but here you are. So I think that this is only, goodbye for now. I'll see you again... hopefully not because I died." Goten says.
Goku chuckles.
"Well I guess I can't argue with that. Goodbye...for now, my son." Goku says.
The two share a hug, and at that moment Goku, Gine, Bardock, and Raditz start to fade away. They all say farewell in their own way, soon fully disappearing. At that moment, Bulla soon approaches Goten with concern on her face.
"Are you ok?"
Goten smiles, looking up towards the sky with his hair covering his eyes.
"Yeah I'm fine. It's just... a terrible day for rain." Goten says.
Bulla is confused
"What do you mean? It's not raining."
She then looks over and sees tears falling down Goten's face with a smile still on.
"Yes, it is." Goten says.
Bulla looks at him for a moment, before holding his hand and leaning her head against his arm.
"Oh. I guess it is."
Later as everyone is inside having fun, Goten sits on the roof of his house staring up at the moon. Bulla soon joins him.
"What are you doing up here alone, weirdo?" Bulla asks.
Goten smiles.
"Just wanted to get some air for a bit. Always liked looking at the moon. We couldn't do that when we were younger." Goten says.
Bulla chuckles.
"Yeah, there's no way I could not be a giant monkey." She replies.
Bulla then sits next to him and lays her head on his shoulder.
"You really scare me, you know?" Bulla says.
Goten is confused.
"I do?" He asks.
"You always go off and handle things on your own. You fight these crazy strong guys, you get really hurt. You almost die." Bulla says.
Goten smiles.
"Aww, are you worried about me Bulla?" Goten says, teasing her.
She punches him in the arm.
"I'm serious. What if- next time, you fight someone you can't beat... I don't want to loose you." Bulla says.
Goten looks at Bulla for a moment, before grabbing her hand and staring into her eyes.
"Bulla, nothing bad is going to happen to me. I'll always come back to you." Goten says.
Bulla stares back at Goten for a moment, then she kisses him.
"You better. Dummy." Bulla says with a smile.
Gotens face turns red, as the two sit there together while still staring at the moon.
