6 Chapter Six: Meeting Goku.

The next day found Kai making his way through the northern side of the Paozu Mountains.

As Kai was getting ready for the climb up Korins tower, which was shown to have taken Goku over a day to climb. Kai was working on some stamina training, he had wanted to see how long he could run for and had made it to the Paozu Mountains with-in eighteen hours with relative ease, and though he was very exhausted now, Kai's still had enough stamina to keep going. but for now he was resting, leaning his back on one of the mountains while taking in the scenery.

The bamboo forests had been thick and without enough room to move around freely he had been forced to stick to the roads while moving south from East Capital. There had been patches of the bamboo forest where they were more spaciously spread out and Kai could see futher in, it was a wonder land of natural beauty. Kai had thought, or maybe he just loved bamboo forests.

But what he was looking at now was just illogical, these so called Mountains didn't make any sense and had no right to be here. Kai was no geology or geomorphology major. but, he knew these types of land structures could only be found at lower attitudes. And at much, much closer proximity to the ocean. it normally take thousands of years for them to form naturally. In his old world these types of land formations where actually quite famous and were known as sea stacks, and were made after water erosion of the surrounding sandstone, they could often be found jutting out of the ocean along coastal regions that had tall cliffs due to constant harsh weather, Like on the North side of Ireland or the South Coast of Australia. but here these "Land Stacks" were just spread out across the land like there was a child under the earth who had a poking addiction just pushing random columns of earth up without a rhyme or reason.

Kai tried not to think about it anymore, he was in an anime world now so he should just stop expecting things to make sense. Hell, his current destination, Korins tower, didn't even make sense as there was no way it could stay upright unless the planet wasn't moving.

Kai pushed off the "Mountain" and started walking while he ran his hands through his hair and rubbed his temples. Maybe he was more tired then he had thought, usually Kai was to busy pushing himself in training to bother with stuff like this.

With weary steps, Kai trudged along. He had passed plenty of these mountain's, dodged dinosaurs, jumped over rivers and walked through primeval forests to find this small well worn dirt trail. As he walked, a small house came into view, this house, that was more of a cottage. Would be known to any Dragon ball fan as this was the iconic home that Goku had been rased in.

Smoke trailed out of the small chimney in the roof and the fragrant smell of cooking meat that filled the air was intoxicating for Kai making him quicken his pace to arrive at the door.

Knocking. he Heard an old voice call out from the house making Kai pause in shock.

"Goku can you get the door? the meat is almost ready."

The voice of boy answered. "Okay grandpa!" Before there was the sound of running from inside as the door was suddenly pulled open. and Kai saw Goku standing in front of him. "Who are you?" Goku asked innocently, as he looked up at Kai inquisitively.

Shaking his head to clear his mind Kai introduced himself, making sure to be loud enough for the old man inside to hear him. "Hi, my name is Kai, I was travelling through the area from East Capital and came across your home, I was wondering if I could impose upon your hospitality and rest for a few hours."

"What's impose mean?" Goku asked tilting his head in confusion. "Well we gotta ask grandpa first.." He continued only to be cut off. "You can come in young man, lunch is ready so you might as well join us."

"Yayay meat!" shouted Goku, forgetting what he asked and running to the table where an old man was just seating himself down.

"Thank you and sorry the the intrusion." Kai said politely as he stepped inside taking off his shoes.

"Your welcome young man, ahh! where are my manners. My name is Son Gohan and this is my grandson, Son Goku. Come, come don't be shy. " said Gohan, waving Kai's apologie away.

"Nice to meet ya." said Goku between mouth fulls of meat.

"Thank you, I'm Nanshin Kai, it's a pleasure to meet you both. Son Gohan. Son Goku." Reintroduced Kai. Taking his martial arts name for his surname as he didn't feel comfortable with using Fang Kai anymore. He was after all, a different person then the original soul who occupied this body.

Going over to the table Kai took a seat and helped himself to the roast meat. It was delicious, the meat had a mild natural gamie flavour that pared well with the peppers Gohan had seasoned it with.

"This is very good." he commented while eat much like Goku had.

"Thank you Kai, so what's a young man like yourself doing travelling alone through these forests?" said Gohan accepting the compliment and asked with some slight curiosity and concern. Seeing as Kai couldn't be much older then Goku, when infact it's was the opposite with Goku abit over a year older then Kai.

"Well, I'm a martial artist training for the next world martial arts tournament, I'm currently searching for Korins tower to try and climb it." Kai explained and told Son Gohan a little more about his backstory.

"Ahh I see, so you father told you about Korins tower." He paused in his thoughts for a few seconds. 'so he is an avenger thats not good, I should try to guide him a little so he doesn't go down the wrong path.' Mulling it over Gohan continued. "Well your in luck, Korins tower does exist. My master, Master Roshi once climbed it and drank from the waters. But Kai I must worn you, the path of revenge will only bring pain, for you and others around you."

Kai stopped eating and locked eyes with Gohan as his gaze slowly hardened and the ki rolled around in his body subconsciously reacting to his emotions, a wave of invisible pressure descended onto the room coursing Goku's tail stand up straight and Gohans eyes to widen briefly in amazement.

After taking some time to breathe and get his emotions in check Kai replied with a resolute expression. "I thank you for your concern but I am already aware of this, revenge is not the only reason I seek strength though. I also wish to gain power so that I can protect those close to me so no one can ever take those dear to me again. However, I have made an oath over their graves, and I will fulfil it no matter the cost."

Gohan looked deeply at the youth that sat in front of him and let out a resigned sigh.

A/N: Greetings and salutations my good readers, Thanks for reading. I noticed that some didn't like like last chapter, all I can say is that the interaction was deliberately forced by the MC and while it may seem cheesy to us they didn't have angels in dbz until whiz came along so the pick up line probably would've gone over Mai's head anyway. also one guy said that I failed as an author for having the MC get into a relationship, I just wanna say there is a whole relationship arc in the anime when Gohan goes to high school. so yea. I don't know what your on about mate. not to mention chi chi, balma and 18. though most of it is off screen.
