Chapter 22: A World at War!

Paragus was sitting in a metal chair aboard [The Salvation]. He was undergoing the genetic scanning process, which was being administered by Rasin. Lakasai was nearby watching over Broly, who had already entered the [Genetic Reconstruction Pod] that Arlic had built for him. Paragus had adamantly refused to allow it at first, but once he understood that it would help his son, he relented. It had been three months since then and four since they had left [Planet Vampa].

Arriving aboard [The Salvation] had been even more shocking for Paragus than when he first saw it. When he learned that Arlic had masterminded its construction, he was even more astounded. It led Paragus to believe that Arlic might not actually be a child or even a Saiyan, though he had no proof. Looking at Rasin, Paragus couldn't help but voice his thoughts about the strange young Saiyan, especially after using his [Scouter] on Rasin, only to have it explode not long after. "Why would someone as strong as you, take orders from a child?"

Looking up from the scanner, Rasin smiled. "If you had asked me that question six months ago, I would have told you that it was because I had no other choice." Rasin scratched his head, a thoughtful expression on his face. "Now however, it's because I see a future for both my brother and me. I see a new future for my whole race, in fact. I serve him because that future would never have been possible without him. I also wish to see the empire that he dreams of, to be a part of building it." Finished with his scanning, Rasin went over the results. Scratching his chest where his [Mark of Loyalty] once sat. It had disappeared along with his brothers a little over six months ago.

As his scanning reached its end, he looked up at the slightly irritating old Saiyan. Paragus would be the next to be placed in a pod. The genome reading, he had administered had become standard practice at this point. After checking everything and seeing that there were no unforeseen results, Rasin patted Paragus on his shoulder. "Everything looks set, your procedure should take no more than a few weeks at most. Do you still intend to wait for your son's procedure to finish first?" Nodding his head, Paragus responded. "Yes, I will keep watch over Broly until he awakens." Paragus continued while scrunching his brow.

"Your certain that this will help him?" Rasin sighed, this was the seventh time Paragus had asked this question, today that is. "My answer has not changed from the last six times you inquired. Your son will be fine. He will even receive an education that puts most to shame. By the way, Paragus…" Looking up from his chair at hearing his name, Paragus asked. "Yes?" Rasin stared at him for a moment before continuing. "Do not ask again!" His eyes revealing slight irritation, Rasin turned and walked away, his lab coat fluttering behind him.

Arriving at his brother's side, Rasin heard Lakasai ask him a question. "How much longer does that fool intend to stay in the lab?" Laughing at his brothers' question, Rasin responded. "Broly should be done with his adjustments soon. Paragus will go into a pod not long after." Chuckling, Rasin continued. "Be patient a little while longer, brother." Snorting, Lakasai simply shook his head. Looking at the monitors that Lakasai had been observing, Rasin posed a question of his own. "How is the progress for the [Saibaman Soldier] project coming along?" Lakasai smiled upon hearing his brother's inquiry.

"Excellent! They all exceed expectations." Pulling up another feed, Lakasai pointed at the screen. "The [Saibaking Soldier] project shows even greater promise! They can't even be realistically called [Saibamen] at this point." Looking at the data, Rasin had to agree with his brother's assessment. The improvements done to the base genome of the [Saibamen] were far too advanced. Their appearance, their power, even their intelligence had all been changed drastically. Calling the end result, a [Saibaman] or [Saibaking] would be an insult to what they achieved.

Rasin couldn't help but be proud at his contribution in the research. Though it had taken far longer than anticipated, the results of all the continued improvements spoke for themselves. The variant of [Saibamen] they created, had a base power level of >10,000. After administering a [Sensu Bean], that level doubled. They each possessed improvements to strength, speed, agility, [Ki] capacity and overall cognitive function. Their stature was now the same as a 5'11" human male, though they remained genderless. Their grotesque appearance now looked more like that of a Namekian than anything else. The differences being the lack of antenna and the [Bio-Armor] that now covered most of their bodies.

Not that the [Bio-Armor] mattered, as they would be outfitted for war. That would include new armor, [Ray Gun] blaster rifles and a few cybernetic upgrades. Then there was the [Saibaking Soldier] project. Each of the five soldiers intended to lead a regiment of five hundred [Saibaman Soldier]s had a base power level of >75,000. Yet again, a [Sensu Bean] would double that number. The five [Saibaking]s were the most changed. They each had a stature reaching 6'6" tall, each one built like a tank. Other than that, they all had identical improvements to their lesser brethren, including overall appearance. The best part, however, was that both projects were capable of further growth once deployed.

Right now, all subjects were undergoing a learning program the brothers had developed in conjunction with Lord Arlic. This program would teach them all the knowledge they might require from day to day. It would teach them how an army operates, as well as how to work as an advanced combat unit. It would teach them about galactic culture and how to solve everything from domestic affairs to political strife. This was all, so that they could serve as a peacekeeping force for [The Salvation]. Smiling while thinking of the future, Rasin asked about his Lord.

"What of Lord Arlic? Has he contacted the planets people, yet?" Upon hearing Rasin's question, Lakasai pulled up a data screen. "Not yet. The manufacture of the new armor most likely slowed him down." Showing his brother the readout, Lakasai began to speculate further, stopping when he noticed a planet wide data package go out.

Pulling up the data feed, Rasin and Lakasai both bore witness to their leader's outgoing message. Paragus also walked over when he saw Arlic's young form fill the main monitor. "Greetings people of [Planet M-2]. My name is Arlic, founder of the [Coalition of Worlds]." The image panned out, showing Arlic sitting upon a sleek futuristic throne. Behind the throne could be seen the world he was addressing.

It was a world covered in vast cities and from space it seemed to shine with a silver hue. "I have come to your world in order to capture a fugitive. This fugitive is responsible for unleashing the machines that have since caused the destruction of two of your major cities. I hope to discuss this matter with your world's leaders." The image changed to the surface of the planet, showing the devastation that occurred, as well as the continued onslaught of the machine army.

There were images of young children screaming for their loved ones in the wreckage, men and women mourning for their dead families. This was hell brought about by war. Arlic appeared on the screen, his face pleading for someone to listen. "I can stop this! If your leaders are listening, then please, have them contact my vessel. Let me help you before the damage is too severe to undo." Tears now flowing from his eyes, Arlic made one final plea. "Let me save your people!" The image showed Arlic standing up from his throne, hands clenched in frustration. Shortly after, the image went dark.

Sup folks. Anybody think that was all just a performance at the end there?
