Time-skip - 12 Years Later

12 years had passed since Isaac was sent to the world of Dragon Ball.

He spent his first year training his ki, unable to draw it out. Only a few months in he decided to start speaking, many thought of him as a child genius. Truffelle began teaching him some very basic subjects, he knew them already but it was still fun to be taught by her. He also found out the year, it seemed he was around a year older than Goku.

At only the age of 2 he began his training under the master of the Temple, which he learned was named the Ox School. The master's name was Cassew and he was quite kind, giving him somewhat of a fatherly figure. Isaac sped through his initial training, he really was quite talented. He also stopped thinking of this new world as a game, the training solidified in his mind how real all this was.

By the time his 4th birthday came to pass Isaac was known to the entire temple as a child genius, he took classes years above his age and his prowess only continued to rise. But his talent was not all helping him along, Isaac put in immense amounts of effort, every day he trained as hard as he could.

After his 8th birthday he could compete with the weaker adult students in physical power and beat them in technique. He didn't spend all his life training though, through the years he came closer to Truffelle and Cassew, he considered Truffelle an older sister and Cassew a Grandpa (to his own annoyance). He also gained many friends in the temple. His life was already leagues better than his old one, he was grateful for it but always made sure to remember his mission.

Now was his 12th birthday, December 10th, Age 748. He had still been unable to draw out his ki, but he was getting close. That didn't worry him though, he had plenty of time. Around the table were many Ox School students, most being friends of Isaac, all gathered to celebrate his 12th birthday.

Cassew came out of his room and gave Isaac a small hug, his prized disciple, he thought of him as a son and loved him dearly.

"Happy birthday Isaac."

He said with a small smile on his face.

"Thanks Grandpa!"

A small twitch of annoyance came to Cassew's brow, he wished Isaac would stop calling him that, he may look old but he's only 40!

Isaac knew it annoyed Cassew, but honestly, he did it to tease him.

After all but one seat was filled, Truffelle came out the kitchen, holding the towering chocolate cake she had baked. Isaac's mouth filled with saliva at the sight of the cake, it looked extravagant and he couldn't wait to eat it. Truffelle set it down on the table and gave Isaac a big hug, lifting him up as she did.

"Happy birthday!"

Isaac hugged back and smiled. She set him back down on his seat than sat on her own seat, right next to his.

The candles were lit and all began singing happy birthday to him. As they sung and Isaac experienced joy, he thought back on the experiences that had lead him here. He had such a miserable life before in his sickly state, but now, he had surpassed all in the Ox School but his master, at only the age of 12!

Now, he began to think of his future, he was strong, but nothing compared to the rest of the universe, and his growth and desire for adventure was beginning to become cramped by the Ox School. Cassew however would only allow him to venture out when he could surpass him but no matter how many times he asked Isaac wouldn't let him fight him.

As they finished the song Isaac snapped back to reality and blew out the candles happily. The rest of the party was quite a happy occasion. Almost half the cake went to Isaac alone and he loved every bite of it. Throughout the party, Cassew had been giving him a bitter-sweet look

After the party, Isaac was meditating, once again trying to draw out his ki. Though he had never drawn it out, his constant meditation did train it, so once he was able to figure it out his ki would be quite strong and should give him an immense boost. His focus was snapped by a knock on the door.

Opening it revealed Cassew. Isaac was a bit surprised, Cassew didn't often visit him.

"Whats up Grandpa?"

Isaac asked.

"Come, Isaac, it is time."

He was still confused but he followed Cassew anyway. He was brought to the Courtyard, but oddly, it was empty, usually at least a few students were out training here. Cassew wore a serious expression on his face as Isaac scratched the back of his head in confusion.

"Is something wrong Grandpa?"

"Isaac... it is time..."

Cassew moved into a fighting position.

"... too see if you have surpassed me!"

Isaac's confused face turned into a smile and he moved into his own fighting pose, as they prepared to fight, one thought shot through his mind.

'Finally!'

Hope you enjoyed! The next chapter will be the fight between Isaac and Cassew.
