Metamorphosis

To avoid being seen, the entity hides itself in a nearby corner of the room, and as everyone blows out the room's candles and leaves, like a predator watching its prey, it slowly waits until it sees the boy falling in and out of consciousness, seeing the ill child as a perfect specimen for its purpose.

*As the boy lays in bed, his heartbeat gets slower and slower as his eyes begin to shut on their own accord. He wonders to himself if this was the end and if he was going to truly die, knowing there was nothing else he could do. He just thinks to himself about his family and his life before this cursed illness ruined everything, with a hint of anger, knowing that it could have been avoided if it wasn't for those cyborgs that caused so much suffering for so many years. Anger then turns into sadness, and tears go down the child's eyes, and he just accepts whatever is going to happen next, and his body slowly goes to sleep for what may be the final time.*

As the boy's body falls into a deep sleep, the entity, moving as fast as it could from its hiding place, crawls over to the child's bedside, climbing its way to the top of the bed and crawling into the boy's body as it begins to expand slowly but surely, consuming the child.

As it slowly consumes the child's entire body, something strange happens: this creature isn't consuming the child; it's changing him as the entity itself seems to disappear, fading into the child's skin, leaving nothing of itself behind but changing the child's black hair into a light pink.

His heartbeat becomes stable as the kid begins to breathe properly while still sound asleep. Little did the child know this would change his life forever, whether for the better or the worse. It is up to him to decide.
