Rally

Imagine a cat stuck on a branch high up on a tree. Now usually, domestic cats only climb trees when their running from something.

Shoena was the cat. Around 8 disciplined soldiers were trying to fight her in an organized formation. Four people in the front, four people in the back. Wintry was the head of the operation. She led the squadron, and they attacked accordingly.

"Dammit, they're so coordinated it's fustrating." Their formation had no openings.

Seeing her situation and understanding what was going on was entirely different.

Every muscle within her body tensed up. She flicks her limbs outward like a starfish. A powerful shockwave surrounding Shoena blew the crew away. "AAAAAAH!!"

Each of them stopped themselves from being sent away any further.

"How the hell did she get this strong?" As this sentence was conjured up in all of their minds, their brain registered a white streak that was aligned with her previous position.

"Follow me." The shadow of what seems to be a hand covered the Acrosian's face. SMACK!! With her entire palm, Shoena grabbed her and flew away.

The rest of the crew turned around. "WINTRY!!"

"I can't…." Wintry was moving at a speed she wasn't used to. The more she paid attention to her teammates, the further they were from her.

Rakishi's scouter picked up a power level that rivaled his own companion. "What the hell?"

"AUNTY SHOE!!" Gohan screamed out.

Shoena was enjoying her fight. Wintry had a wild fighting style that was hard to predict. She used momentum to her advantage. Each strike led to another, so parrying was useless. She'd just use the force applied to her body to move her in order to attack a different way from a different angle. It made dodging hard as well.

Usually, when a practitioner/fighter throws a punch or kick, they retract their arm immediately after extending it fully. It makes grappling the fighter hard while closing the hole their defense would have when it is extended. So there are edges to their strikes. Winter has no edges. She doesn't force her limbs to retreat immediately after attacking. She engages and leans in with the force of her attack, only retracting the arm if the prepared attack is launched already. From a distance, she looked like she was throwing windmill punches but with her body.

A side kick to the head grazed past Shoena's head. Her calf muscle then crashed into the side of Shoena's from a diagonal angle. Head first, she hits the ground. She put one hand on the ground but a foot was close to her face already. With a devastating kick to the face, she was sent flying. She rolled against the ground from the force. Her body twists to gain control over herself again. She landed on her feet and noticed something odd.

In the middle of battle, she sensed a familiar ki signature heading to her. It was high but not enough to be considered a rival to her own. It was almost like a tent made of titanium, small but strong. It distracted her for one reason and one reason only. It was her nephew, Son Gohan. She had a similar mindset compared to Davion and Chi Chi. She disliked the idea of a child fighting alongside them, but for a 4 year old, Gohan was unnaturally strong. Even so, he's still a child.

"WHERE ARE YOU LOOKING!!??" Wintry was bold enough to interfere with Shoena's contemplative state. Her arm was winded back. She thrust it forth like a javelin just to miss her target by a rabbit's hair. Shoena's body put weight on her front leg. It was bent, and her upper body was leaning forward. A beautiful slip, an evasive technique within boxing. The weight distribution, speed, and timing were all perfect. As if it was at the same time, her arm extends past the distance between her and Wintry. A step in slip was elegantly executed. A famous boxing technique; the practitioner takes a step forward while moving their body and shoulder outside of the opponent's striking bubble. It creates new angles and let's the opponent slide into their openings instead of attacking them from a further distance. Instead of moving to the side of their body, she moves toward her torso inside her reach. Her arm vanished as the acrosian's head snaps back from the sudden jab performed by Shoena.

"What? She hit me?" Baffled, she questioned if she was hit or not. Wintry didn't see the punch coming or at all, in fact. It was too fast for her to register, or maybe Shoena attacked her from outside of her view. Seeing the attack was like looking at the floor beneath her chin without moving her chin.

Shoena firmly placed her hand on Wintry's nonexistent titties. Light brims from her hand and with a palm to her chest, light engulfed Wintry. An explosion followed soon after with a scream. "NGAAAAAAH!!"

Like a meteor crashing down on Earth, Shoena did not hold a single thought of slowing down or stopping. A small faint voice was caught by the nets that is her eardrums. An image of a child with long hair approached her very eyes. Catching up to this child were five or more ki signatures that were roughly the same in power.

Shoena didn't care for how strong Gohan was. She didn't care for how much he's been training. In her eyes, he was still a child. The situation was so dire to where he was the only one they could rely on to defeat these invaders. Even from afar, she could see the fear in his eyes. A feeling of desperation built up in her gut. A feeling that left a sour taste in her mouth.

[Vengeful Spirit; hours before the spaceships arrival]

Chi Chi was not around the other Z Fighters. As a mother, she was serious about becoming stronger to protect Gohan. Stepping into Goku's realm never came to mind. Chi Chi was a traditional woman. She stays inside he house, cleans the house, takes care of the children, and cooks for the family. She was supportive of the scope of where she believed was the best. So whenever the house is taken care of, she'd be busy with underwater training. Attached to her arms and legs were boulders. The water pressure increased the effectiveness of the restraints placed on her along with the water density. Holding her breath while shadow boxing at high speeds helped increase her lung capacity. From time to time, she'd move to the ocean and leap from the sea floor to over the surface of the ocean. Or she'd at least try to.

Davion gave her the thumbs up to do solo training. She could get used to her body's new power at her own pace. Relying on self motivation was the key. If she could not rely on herself at times like these, then how can someone else rely on her? More and more, she resembled her husband in familiar ways. The mother of Gohan held her ambitions and family close to heart.

[Vengeful Spirit; The Present]

In present times, Chi Chi was meeting up with the other Z Fighters. They were flying to the scene, so she thought it'd be right to follow their flying path. Out of everyone here, she couldn't sense any other's ki naturally. Unless it was Gohan. She specifically trained her senses to lock onto Gohan via remembering the wavelength of his ki from their last meeting. An unprecedented and unnatural sense that not even Roshi could achieve so easily. Since she can only sense ki via focus and not passively, she has to actively focus and be aware of her and Gohan's surroundings.

Tien: "Heh, Shoena and Davion beat us to the punch."

Krillin: "Even Piccolo's fighting. How do they get there so fast?"

Yamcha: "How else? It's not like they can teleport."

Unlike them, Chi Chi was quiet. Usually, she'd be at home, making meals, folding clothes, and cleaning the house. But with Gohan on the frontlines, it was different. Putting her child's life before her own came naturally. Without a thought, a sacrifice like that would come true if necessary. But the entire world? The fear that crept in the shadow of failure was world shattering. If she spoke for even a second, she felt as if sound wouldn't come out. A natural reaction to a life or death situation, but for the rest of the Z fighters, it was just another Tuesday.
