6 Time is complicated.

Mr Popo and an old, wrinkled, humanoid green creature who was the current Kami of the Earth, stood at the edge of the lookout and looked solemnly at the clouds below. It was as if there was a great terror hidden behind the clouds.

Minutes later, a purple-haired young man flew out of the clouds and landed on the lookout, just a few metres away from Mr Popo and Kami. On his upper body he had a blue denim jacket above a white shirt, and on his lower body was formal black pants.

"Who are you?" Kami asked solemnly. His senses picked up a very high energy signature from the young man in the blue jacket.

"Hello, Mr Kami and Mr Popo," the purple-haired boy bowed in greetings and said politely. "I am Trunks..."

Trunks paused and hesitated as if he was in a conundrum about what to say.

'Aaah! It would be so much easier if Goku-San was here,' He thought to himself but having

"Um, You see. I am not from here, I mean, I am not from this time." He explained truthfully. "I have travelled here from the future. Although it was not my intention to travel to this early period in time."

"Yeah, I know that my action will change the history but it is worth the price." He added to his defence. "The future. It's too grim."

Trunks took a deep breath, his expression dignified and started narrating the circumstances.

"Fifty-one years from now, on the morning of May 12, 767," Trunks' serious and solemn tone made Kami and Mr Popo, who were already on guard against Trunks, nervous. "Ten o'clock in the morning, two horrible people showed up on an Island which was nine miles south-west of South City. And... their powers. It was dreadful, no one was able to stop them. They–"

He looked agitated and cried out, "–they are monsters. I can't find any words other than 'monster' to describe them."

Kami and Mr Popo were caught off guard by the outburst of raw power, that shook the entire lookout, from Trunks.

"Sorry 'bout that," Trunks said, getting his emotions, and consequently his powers under control. "It's just that, after they showed up, Earth and everything we know was gone for good. Except for a few, no one survived."

"Yes, the lookout was also in ruins." Trunks admitted.

"Hmm, interesting." Trunks suddenly heard an amused, male voice from his right side. He turned and saw a man in a lab coat.

Kami and Mr Popo also looked at the man and exclaimed, "Lux!"

But their reaction was slow compared to Trunks, who subconsciously threw a roundhouse kick at Lux.

The speed of the kick was high enough to send a sonic boom reverberating across the lookout.

But Lux, who was on the receiving end of the attack, flitted backwards with leisure and ease as the kick glanced by his face, making his clothes and hair flutter with the displaced air.

"You're too slow, kid," Lux remarked with a hint of playfulness.

'Who is he? I can't sense any Ki from him–' Trunks' thoughts halted for a moment as he had a sudden flashback of the android duo.

'Is h-he an android too?' All the painful memories, the destruction and the deaths caused by the android duo flashed before his eyes.

Anger and grief stirred within him. A raw, unadulterated power erupted, as a golden-yellow hue enveloped him. His long, purple hair fluttered upwards and changed to vibrant, golden colour. His eyes seemed to have rolled backwards as only the whites could be seen.

Kami and Mr Popo had to jump away to a far enough distance to protect themselves from the energy arcs radiating from Trunks.

"Trunks, stop it!" Kami yelled out loud, but his words fell into deaf ears. Trunks' hatred for the android duo was far too intense.

Lux, on the other hand, didn't interrupt but watched the full transformation with keen interest. It was the first time he saw a super Saiyan transformation.

Trunks, after becoming super Saiyan, vanished from his place and instantaneously appeared in front of Lux and threw a punch straight at Lux's chest.

Lux smiled and just rotated his upper body sideways as the punch completely missed. With the momentum, Trunks spun and threw aside punch aiming for Lux's abdomen. But, again Lux easily dodged the punch by hopping backwards.

Punches after punches kick after kicks. Trunks were relentless in his attacks. While Lux dodged each attack with ease with his hands still in the pocket.

There was a sharp contrast between Trunks' brute, erratic attacks and Lux's graceful dodges.

On the other side, Kami and Mr Popo were having difficulties in following the Lux's and Trunks' fast movements. They could only hear the frequent sonic booms originating from Trunks' attacks.

"Tsk, too much-wasted movements," Lux commented as he lost interest in the fight and suddenly vanished from Trunks's sight.

On the next instant, he appeared behind Trunks.

Before Trunks could register what happened, he felt a chop at the back of his neck and lost consciousness.

...

"I am very sorry, Mr Lux," Trunks bowed and apologised profusely. "I thought yo-you were–"

Lux interrupted him in mid-sentence and said politely, "I was at fault, kid. I shouldn't have appeared behind you all of a sudden."

"But, coming back to the previous topic," Lux skillfully changed the subject. "I am pretty sure that the future you came from, is an alternate timeline."

"Even if we prevent Dr Gero from inventing the androids, the future you are from, will remain the same." Lux's words poured cold water into Trunks' hope of changing the history and prevent the horrible future.

Gritting his teeth and abandoning his pride, Trunks prostrated himself on the bare floor, in front of Lux.

"Please Mr Lux, help me defeat the androids," he begged.

'Mr. Lux would surely be able to defeat the androids,' Trunks thought as he kept his head down. He had personally experienced Mr Lux's power. Even after transforming into Super Saiyan, he couldn't lay a finger on Mr Lux.

"Stand up, Kid. I have a better solution," Lux spoke.
