I used the the name as a pun, just like 'Bulma' came from the word 'bloomer' in Japanese pronunciation.

A warning.

Lux produced a miniature model of a circular platform from his pocket and tossed it on the floor. The platform landed on its flat side and it expanded to about 9 metres diameter wise and half meter height-wise.

"This... is a platform," Trunks said, confused. "But, how is this supposed to help me control my energy?"

"Don't be deceived by its look, Trunks." Lux chuckled. "The platform is an energy signature resonator. It will amplify even the tiniest energy fluctuations."

"When a person stands in the middle, a dome of glass will arise from the edge encircling the person standing on the platform. After that, it will detect and amplify the energy coming off of the person. This amplified energy will then echo inside the dome and resonate with each other, which will again amplify the amplified signal. The process will go on until the person controls his energy and don't let it leak out." Lux explained the underlying principle to Trunks.

"Are you ready?" Lux asked, trying his best to hold

"Yes, Mr Lux," Trunks answered with confidence and jumped onto the platform.

As Lux said, a transparent glass rose from the edge of the platform and encircled Trunks who was standing in the middle.

"Start," Lux commanded. There was no visual change in the machine, but Trunks who was inside the dome seemed flustered and was having difficulty concentrating. It was similar to how a person finds it difficult to sleep under the constant buzz of a mosquito near the ears.

As time passed by, the condition of Trunks inside the dome became worse. He was now sweating profusely and a lot of veins could be seen on his forehead. It was because Trunks was extensively using his brain, which resulted in a rush of blood toward the brain.

It was after Trunks fell on his knees, clutching his head, that Lux stopped the machine.

The dome opened, and Lux flew to the kneeling Trunks and gave a gentle pat on his right shoulder. Golden light enveloped Trunks.

After the glow subsided, Trunks was already standing on his feet.

"Thank you, Mr Lux," Trunks bowed.

"Now, do you understand?" Lux asked sternly.

"Yes, Mr Lux, I need to work on my Ki control." Trunks acknowledged his shortcoming.

"For the next few months, you will hone your control over Ki using this machine. Only after you have sufficient control, we will start your combat training." Lux said.

...

A year had passed by inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, but only a day had passed outside.

Trunks' training was completed. He had become more confident and calm. When he first appeared on the lookout, he always seemed to be on edge, ready to fight. Now, all his restlessness was gone.

As for how strong he had become, Trunks didn't know. Mr Lux was too strong to compare with.

"Mr Lux, you are coming to the future with me?!" asked Trunks who was inside the hemispherical encloser of the time machine. He was surprised by Lux's sudden decision.

Kami and Mr Popo, standing on the side, were also shocked.

"Yes. I am just curious why I don't seem to exist in your timeline," Lux stated his reason.

"Oh, before I go," Lux recalled something and pulled out a small, humanoid figurine from his coat pocket and handed it to Kami. "If the earth is in danger or something terrible comes up, the doll will activate on its own and become a clone of me. It is enough to protect the earth when I am not here."

After giving the human figurine to Kami, Lux hopped into the egg-lookalike time machine.

"OK then, let's go," Lux said. Trunks activated the time machine and they, along with the machine, vanished with a flash of white light.

'What? Who was it?' A sense of palpitation arose in Lux's heart. He was afraid. For the first time after coming to this world, he was scared.

But the feeling was gone as soon as it appeared.

"Mr Lux, what happened?" Trunks asked looking at Lux's horrified face.

"Nothing...," Lux answered while preoccupied in his thoughts. 'The voice just now. I seemed to have heard it somewhere.'

'But, why am I terrified? What did I forget?' Countless questions flashed in his mind.

The dreadful feeling might've gone but the restlessness was still there as if something was going to happen, something very horrible.

He couldn't separate his mind from this grim foreboding.

"Mr Lux," Trunks called, doubtful after noticing Lux's pupil. "Your eyes. Were they always golden?"
