34 Before the Storm

I woke up early in the morning, stretching myself out before getting dressed and walking out of my room to have breakfast.

"Morning, sweetie. Breakfast is on the table." My mother said with a smile as soon as she saw me.

Looking at the table, it seems I was the last one to awake.

"Zyleth." My father nodded in acknowledgement.

"Morning, Zy'..." Raditz said with a yawn.

"Morning." I replied to the both of them as I sat down at the table.

Looking at the spread in front of me, it seemed my mother pulled out all the stops again. Ever since Beerus complimented her cooking, she's been trying out different recipes and ways of preparation.

I don't know why it took Lord Beerus of all people for her to start doing these things, but I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth.

"We going to go train today?" Raditz asked.

"As if you had to ask." I replied, taking a bite out of my bowl of scrambled eggs.

"Training, huh? Why don't you have your team join us for today?" Bardock suddenly asked.

I look up at him with a little bit of surprise. After all, he has never proposed this idea before. Sure, he would have me or sometimes Raditz train with him and his team, but never did he extend the offer to anyone else.

"What, like a joint training session?" I asked.

He nodded with a small smirk. "That's right. Unless you think that your team isn't ready for our intense training regiment."

Both Raditz and I stared at him for a brief moment before looking towards each other, struggling to keep our composure.

"What? What's with the funny looking faces?" Bardock asked, tilting his head at us.

We couldn't hold it in anymore and just started to laugh hysterically.

"What's so damn funny?!" Bardock yelled before getting slapped in the back of the head.

"No yelling at the table." Gine said with a small glare before walking back into the kitchen to clean.

Raditz and I were finally able to calm down after a few moments, taking a few deep breaths to try and alleviate some of the pain caused from our laughter.

"D-Don't worry about it." I said with a light chuckle, trying to wave off his irritation. "Sure, let's do a joint training session. We'll meet at the Royal Training Grounds."

As Raditz and I get up to leave, Bardock rubbed the back of his head with utter confusion.

"Those two are getting weirder and weirder everyday..." He muttered.

Already at the Royal Training Grounds, Team Black occupied themselves with stretches and warm ups as they waited for Team Bardock.

"A joint session? Are you sure that it won't be a waste of time." Vegeta asked cockily as he stretched out his arms.

"Last time I checked, Vegeta, they were still stronger than you." I reminded him.

The young Prince clicked his teeth in annoyance before turning his head in a huff.

Ever since he and the others had broken into the ten thousands, he's been very cocky about his rising level of power. Not as cocky as he was in the Saiyan Saga, nowhere near that, but still enough for me to think that he needs to get humbled.

"Chin up. You might actually learn something." I said to him.

He scoffed and looked back over at me with a skeptical gaze.

I let out an annoyed sigh before replying with, "How about this. You do your best and take this training seriously, and I'll teach you a new attack."

That seemed to get his attention, as his eyes widened in excitement for a brief second before he tried acting nonchalant.

"I suppose if it's that important to you." He muttered.

I rolled my eyes at the kid before suddenly seeing a group of people walking up.

"Look alive." I told the four.

Vegeta, Broly, Raditz, and Turles all fell in line behind me, watching as Team Bardock finally arrived at the training grounds.

"'Bout time. Started to think you were going to run out on us." I said to my father with a smart-ass smirk.

He rolled his eyes and groaned before pointing his thumb toward Shugesh. "Mr. Big Boned had to use the bathroom."

"Hey, I'll have you know that it's a very serious medical condition!" Shugesh exclaimed.

Bardock waved an uncaring hand before looking at me with a serious expression.

"We doing this or what?" He asked.

I look at my team, who all looked back at me with confident smirks, before looking back with a confident expression myself.

"Whose training are we doing first?"

"This is impossible!!" Tora yelled out in frustration as he tried to spar against Vegeta.

"Hmph, pathetic! You can't even perform with that paltry amount of weight?" Vegeta asked as he hit Tora in the gut with a straight kick.

There were four battles going on in the training ground. Bardock and I stood on the ground, acting as spectators as we looked up and saw his team struggle against mine.

"There's no way you runts train like this everyday!" Fasha yelled with the same, if not more frustration than Tora.

I honestly felt bad for her the most. She was up against Broly. There's no way she'll be able to put up any kind of fight with his amount of brute strength.

Aside from myself, Broly was the one with the highest set of weights, coming in around sixty-five pounds. That doesn't sound like a lot until you remember that Planet Vegeta is ten times the gravity of Earth, making that measly sixty-five into a whopping six-hundred and fifty pounds.

"This is getting annoying..." Shugesh said as he wiped a bit a blood away from his mouth.

He and Borgos were facing Turles and Raditz.

"What kind of training did you put these guys under? I swear, you and the rest of them are just a bunch of monsters." Bardock said a he shook his head.

Before this, me and the others went through Team Bardock's usual training routine, which was just a bit of exercise before some heavy sparring.

While the exercises weren't all that intense, it was the sparring that had a very good effect on my team, especially Vegeta. While close in power level, Team Bardock was still ahead by a few thousand and they had a lot more experience than all of us combined.

Each member of my team suffered a big loss, with the only exception being Broly, who had managed to hold his own quite a bit before eventually going down like the others.

And while the Prince did get humbled, quite a bit actually, he seemed to have carried that grudge into the next training.

"What do you say, father? You think you'll be able to keep up?" I asked with a smirk as I put on my own set of weights.

He scoffed and then proceeded to do the same.

"Bring it on." He said.

The exhausted Team Bardock sat on the ground whilst my team and I stood across from them with victorious smirks.

"Your kid is fucking insane..." Fasha muttered through panting breaths.

"Aren't there laws about this stuff?" Tora asked, sprawled out on the floor in pain.

"Nope. Complain all you want, but there's nothing insaiyan about any of this." I told them as I crossed my arms.

"There should be!" Fasha exclaimed.

I shrugged my shoulder with a shit-eating grin.

"Sounds like you're just not trying hard enough." I teased the feisty Saiyan woman.

Her eyebrow twitched in annoyance as she brought her fist up, her eyes brimming with the promise of violence.

"I'm gonna... I'm gonna..."

I couldn't help but chuckle at the scene. She was so angry that she couldn't even think of a threat.

"Just ignore him, Fasha. The little shit likes getting a rise out of you." Bardock groaned in annoyance, having told her this many times before.

"I know that!" Fasha yelled. "But why is is only me?!"

Cause you're hot when you're mad.

"Cause it's funny when you're mad." I told her simply.

The amount of red her face turned after my statement just made me laugh even more. Today was a good day. Especially after the whole Beerus situation a couple weeks ago.

Hopefully nothing else will happen until Planet Vegeta's destruction. I've had enough excitement for one month.

For a brief second, a sizable shadow had suddenly casted over us before suddenly disappearing. Looking up towards the skies, we see multiple ships flying in from above, with soldiers also flying alongside them.

I was confused for a brief moment before spotting two familiar figures.

"You've got to be fucking kidding me..." I muttered as I saw Zarbon and Dodoria fly overhead.
