Show of Force

The following morning came a bit too quickly for Treasca. She had spent a very long time wide awake staring at the decorative ceiling trying to figure out what she could possibly do to get herself out of this mess. When she did finally sleep her dreams where restless making her toss, and turn then bolt up right. She couldn't remember what they where about exactly, but it definitely evolved storms and being eaten alive. She wasn't certain what had woken her at first until Delyn opened the curtains letting in the far too bright light. Treasca groaned and tried to hide her face, but there seemed little point in putting this off. She got out of bed grumpily and slammed the door to her wash room a bit harder than she had intended to. Delyn raised an eyebrow at the closed door. He was use to extremely grumpy people, and decided to treat her fowl temper as he would Brenton's. He would ignore it entirely and do his damn job then get the hell out of there.

When Treasca emerged she was composed again. She didn't apologize, but she was more agreeable. It wasn't Delyn's fault his master was a colossal ass. He laid out the light pink dress, and shoes on the bed before mumbling he would be back in to dress her hair once she was dressed.

Once she was ready at last, Delyn had styled her hair up in a elaborate bun with many curls that he heated in the fire, he lead her to yet another large garden. This one was more like the gardens she had seen before. Roses of every shade fragranced the air. Brenton sat at a table laid out with a massive breakfast scones, strawberry preserves, eggs, rashers of bacon, fresh bread, and fruit. Treasca raised an eyebrow at the amount of food that seemed to be at every meal, and sat down without a word. Brenton looked up from the book he was reading.

"Oh good morning, I thought today I might give you a tour, Treasca." He seemed pleased to use her name for some reason.

"No, thank you." She said wondering if she had a choice.

"It is not optional." He said eyes narrowing. Well it didn't hurt to try she thought. She focused her attention not looking at him. He started tapping his fingers on the table in exasperation, but still she ignored him. She may have to stay here for now, but that didn't mean she had to be gracious about it. Brenton cleared his throat, and asked.

"Did you like the gift I made you?"

Treasca made a noncommittal sound, and continued to eat without looking at him. He stood suddenly, she jerked her head up eyes going wide. He walked around the table until he was standing behind her. Then he picked up her chair with her still in it, and carried it to his side of the table.

"Why didn't you just move your chair near me?" Treasca asked trying to keep the fear out of her voice. He didn't even seem the least bit winded. She wasn't really that heavy maybe, but still it should have taken some effort!

" I wanted to get your attention." He said staring into her eyes having reclaimed his seat. He reached over and cupped her cheek. "There much better." He said refusing to let her look away.
