In the Palace of Mighty Kings

Treasca struggled to wake. She couldn't remember why she needed to be awake could it really be that important. She was just so tired she could just keep sleeping what was the harm. Something in her was screaming for her to wake though. It took a lot of effort, but she managed to pull herself awake. Treasca groaned head pounding from the effort. She had never been much of a drinker, but having helped cure a lot of hangovers she knew this must be how it felt. Groaning and trying not to vomit she sat up slowly. The room spun as if she were drugged. The room she had been placed in was massive. White marble made up the floor and walls with silver tiles shined to mirror gleam covered the ceiling. The furniture was plush and a pale blue velvet. The bed she was in was the softest she had ever seen cloud like and covered in more pillows than any one person could need in a lifetime. Treasca noticed as she looked around that someone had changed her clothes. She shuddered memories starting to come back to her. She was in a nearly see through white night gown it was made of silk, but far too tight to be remotely comfortable. Treasca grimaced, and braced herself to stand on, what she guessed would be an ice cold, floor. She nearly jumped back when she realized it was actually quite warm, but not uncomfortably so. Standing felt like trying to run up hill in a hurricane, but she managed hanging on the the bed frame for support. She dragged herself over to a huge door, and tried the knob it was unlocked. It lead to a washroom with just a small commode, and a basin filled will gently steaming water. Treasca washed her face, and it helped her to feel quite a bit better. After she used the facilities Treasca reentered the bedroom, and nearly ran right back into the washing. Someone was pushing the door open quietly. The man was tall with flaming red hair, and wore dark brown fine leather boots, tan colored pressed pants, and a vest of dark brown with designs with gold thread. He wore his long hair toed back with dark brown ribbon. He didn't notice Treasca as he laid out a meal on a small table near what Treasca assumed was a large window. A huge curtain covered the window blocking out the sun making the room a dim twilight. The man glanced toward the bed then back to his task then he did a double take when he realized she wasn't there. His head whipped around until he saw her waiting near the door, and he gave a noticable sigh of relief.

"Oh good, you are awake. I was beginning to be concerned you wouldn't be able to. It has been three days." The man said taking a step toward her. Treasca backed up like a scared rabbit unintentionally.

"Oh, I apologize I am sure this has all been quite frightening for you. I am Delyn, my lady. May I have the pleasure of knowing your name?" He said eyes showing genuine concern.

"Treasca...It is a pleasure to meet you." She said weakly. Her voice sounded like sandpaper, and her throat felt as bad as it sounded.

" You poor thing," Delyn said clicking is tongue at her state. "My master has not done a great job of looking after you this far has he. I will have to speak with him on your behalf. He has forgotten how to care for people I am afraid. It has been quite a long time since he had anyone to look after." Delyn paused then gestured to the food on the table.

"I thought after three days you might be ravenous, but if you ate too much too soon you would be I'll. I thought porridge maybe soothing."

"Thank you, that was very considerate." Treasca said sitting at the table. The porridge was steaming in a large expensive looking porcelain bowl. There was also bowls of various fruits, nuts, and even a container of honey. Treasca tried to eat slowly so she didn't become sick, but it was hard because it was so good. Delyn poured her a glass of ice cold water, and waited patiently for her to finish. After she had eaten her fill he said.

"I have been instructed to take you to the bath house, so you may bathe. We have a delightful hot spring here that you are welcome to enjoy whenever you wish. I will get you a robe then I will lay you out something to wear."

Treasca nodded in agreement a bath sounded amazing right now, and a hot bath even better. It had been years since she was allowed the luxury of a hot bath. The robe Delyn brought out from a wardrobe near the bed was a dark red silk.

" I will leave you to undress and put this on of you need anything I will be right outside." Delyn said bowing and shutting the door quietly behind him.

Treasca slipped out of the night gown laying it over the end of the bed, and tied the robe closed around her. Delyn bowed when she emerged leading the way down the hallway. There was a deep lush carpet of burgundy with creamy colored walls. There where many doors, and Treasca wondered ideally what they where. There where paintings of various landscapes lining the walls here and there. Treasca would have loved to stop and look at them, but Delyn had turned a corner ahead. He lead her down several flights of stairs until they where in a large open room that she guessed was underground. It seemed very much like a cavern. There where silver sconces on the while they provided some light the shadows made the room seem somewhat ominous.

"The hot springs is just through these doors and there are towels already in there for your convenience. If you need anything further there are robes you may pull that will alert me, and I will be right back down" With that Delyn bowed, and left her there.

The door creaked when she opened it seemed rather ancient, and was very heavy. The hot springs had very dim lighting she assumed for ambience. There was a very slight orange tinge to the lights that made her wonder in there wasn't fires flickering somewhere inside. She had just reached the water, and began unwrapping her robe when she heard from the water Brenton say, "You sure took your time. I have been waiting here for nearly an hour."
